Create Good Stories

Tal Eyre

We all have a life story, and these stories are created daily, monthly, yearly, and over a lifetime. This podcast explores how we can intentionally shape, construct, and ultimately create good life stories.  Each episode begins with Tal and his brothers, Noah and Eli, sharing stories from their upbringing. After their (sometimes lively) banter, Tal conducts in-depth interviews. Season 1 focuses on a diverse group of dads and the unique ways they connect with their children. The conversations in season 1 are inspired by Tal’s book, Dad Mode: 25 Ways to Connect with Your Children.

#45 Bree Fotheringham on Landscape and Classical Music

In this episode, Tal talks with Bree Fotheringham, an American violinist and passionate advocate for bringing classical music to new audiences. First, we get to know Bree and hear her story, including her involvement as Founder and Artistic Director of the Salt Lake Chamber Orchestra (SLCO), an ensemble dedicated to bringing exceptional classical music to Utah through fresh and engaging performance experiences designed for a 21st-century audience. The SLCO’s most recent concert was themed “Landscape,” and Bree explains why. From there, Tal and Bree explore the fascinating intersection of landscape and classical music and the ways that place, nature, and our surroundings can shape music and the experience of listening to it. At the end, Bree takes us to Los Angeles as she describes her dream meal and what would make it the perfect dining experience. Bree considers community engagement to be the most meaningful part of her career and envisions a world where classical music concerts are inviting, invigorating, and relevant experiences shared by all members of the community.
