Ep 67 | The LaLaurie Mansion

There are some houses that seem to hold onto their history. And then there are houses where the history is so dark, so disturbing, that people have spent nearly two centuries wondering whether the past ever really left. In the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, at 1140 Royal Street, stands a mansion with a reputation that has become almost as infamous as the woman who once called it home. This week we dive into the life of Delphine LaLaurie and the haunts and history of her old home in the French Quarter.  Charlie and Tyler from Believing the Bizarre are this weeks spooky guests on the mic to weigh in on our last haunted house of the season.  You can find them wherever you get your podcasts! https://believingthebizarre.com/ Join me on social media @itstrulytwisted on Instagram and @trulytwisted on TikTok.  You can follow me personally @littleleesha  Follow On Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@itstrulytwisted Resources used in todays episode: https://www.frenchquarterphantoms.com/blog/the-real-story-behind-the-lalaurie-mansion-new-orleans-most-haunted-home https://hauntedhistorytours.com/blog/madame-delphine-lalaurie-the-infamous-mistress-of-horror-in-new-orleans/ https://usghostadventures.com/haunted-stories/terrors-at-lalaurie-mansion/?tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=23008015096&tw_kwdid=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23008037752&gbraid=0AAAAAoLvfyGewV7MCN84-h5XDea49vF2j&gclid=CjwKCAjwirLWBhBBEiwAlItbEofsLPyVorPQ-tiXG1NOULrS0LXQOu0lW2SgMw5NOOW_-o8g0IeEJxoCPE8QAvD_BwE https://blackpast.org/african-american-history/lalaurie-mansion-1832/ https://www.redfin.com/LA/New-Orleans/1140-Royal-St-70116/home/79281801 https://prcno.org/what-really-happened-at-the-lalaurie-house/ https://veritenews.org/2026/10/12/lalaurie-mansion-a-french-quarter-landmark-said-to-have-housed-many-severely-abused-slaves/

Ep 66 | The Villisca Axe House

On June 9th 1912 the Moore family went to bed at their home in Villisca Iowa along with their two guests. It was a seemingly peaceful summer night. Villisca was described as prosperous, peaceful, and picturesque town where neighbors knew each other. Where children played outside carefree. Where people left their doors unlocked. Sometime around midnight an unknown intruder or intruders would enter the home and end 8 lives sparking one of the biggest tragedies and mysteries in true crime history. Today Chrissy Champagne of Residue: A True Crime Movie Podcast is on the mic to weigh in on the Moores story and surrounding theories. Ep 65 | The SK Pierce Mansion

The S.K. Pierce Mansion is a towering Second Empire Victorian home in Gardner, Massachusetts, built between 1873 and 1875. From the outside, it looks almost exactly like the kind of house you would expect to find at the center of a Victorian ghost story which makes the rumors of murder and mischief that much easier to believe. But with records lost and deaths swept under the rug, we may never know the full story - except for what the spirits tell us.  This week we are joined on the mic by Kaydra Brannan of Perplexity: A Mystery Podcast, if you like spooky mysteries and anything unexplained, be sure to check her out too.  For all things Kaydra - https://www.perplexitymysterypodcast.com/ Join me on social media @itstrulytwisted on Instagram and @trulytwisted on TikTok.  You can follow me personally @littleleesha  Follow On Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@itstrulytwisted Todays episode is sponsored by Truly Lifestyle Brand Use code TRULYTWISTED at checkout for 15% off ALL orders. https://trulylifestylebrand.com/ Resources used in todays episode: https://bostonghosts.com/the-spirits-of-the-pierce-mansion/  https://www.realtor.com/news/unique-homes/haunted-historic-massachusetts-victorian-mansion-sells/  https://www.facebook.com/skhauntedvictorian/posts/-big-news-from-the-sk-pierce-mansion-the-sk-pierce-mansion-was-just-featured-in-/1271815178307606/  https://www.google.com/searchq=kathleen+sk+pierce&rlz=1C1QCTP_enCA1141CA1141&oq=kathleen+sk+pierce&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigAdIBCDYyNzFqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:696be6d3,vid:hij-U_onHXg,st:0

Ep 64 | The Amityville Horror House

For our next haunted house with a true crime origin we are heading to Amityville in Long Island New York. This week Alecia is joined by a special guest, Sierra Zorn, on the mic to discuss the infamous house of horrors.  On November 13th 1974 23 year old Ronald Defeo Jr shot and killed all six members of his family while they slept in their beds. He claimed to have been driven by an entity telling him to kill and would spend the remainder of his life in prison.  Despite the horrors that had taken place in the home, young parents George and Kathy Lutz couldnt pass up the price tag. However they would only last 28 days in the home calling on the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren when paranormal activity reached an all time high.  Join me on social media @itstrulytwisted on Instagram and @trulytwisted on TikTok.  You can follow me personally @littleleesha  Follow On Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@itstrulytwisted Resources used in todays episode: https://meaww.com/who-are-george-and-kathy-lutz-the-family-terrorized-by-amityville-haunting https://english.elpais.com/usa/2022-01-10/it-wasnt-ghosts-but-something-worse-the-brutal-truth-about-amityville.html https://history.howstuffworks.com/history-vs-myth/amityville-horror-house.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amityville_murders https://www.aetv.com/articles/amityville-murders-defeo https://medium.com/new-york-voice/ronald-defeo-and-the-true-amityville-horror-da322cf29068

Ep 63 | The Lizzie Borden House

On August 4th, 1892, 69-year-old Andrew Borden settled onto his living room couch for a mid-morning nap at 11 AM, but he would never wake up. Instead, he would be gruesomely murdered in his sleep. 32-year-old Lizzie Borden, would discover her father's lifeless body just 15 minutes later. Upstairs, the body of her 64-year-old stepmother, Abby Gray, would be found in the guest bedroom laying on the floor in a pool of blood. Their murders and the subsequent trial of Lizzie Borden would cause one of the largest debates in true crime history over her guilt or innocence, but what is indisputable are the energies that remain in the home to this day. Ep 62 | The Unsolved Murder of Tracy Cusick

In January of 2006, 32-year-old mother of two Tracy Cusick was found dead in her Illinois home, submerged face-down in her bathroom toilet. Her death was initially ruled a tragic accidental drowning—a nearly impossible medical anomaly. But as her grieving family pushed for answers, suspicious injuries, alleged domestic abuse, and a groundbreaking forensic investigation pointed to something far more sinister. At the end of the day, Tracy deserves justice.  * editor note * I did say 2007 instead of 2006, during recording and my mic settings were somehow adjusted, so this audio sounds a little different than usual... my appologies twisted family! Ep 61 | The Disappearance of Max Devries

There are certain names that are well known because of vacation tragedies—Madeline McCain, Amy Lynn Bradley and Natalee Holloway. Their stories have been told around the world, and rightfully so. They matter. Their families deserve answers, their stories deserve to be remembered, and for those who remain missing, they deserve to still be searched for.  But for every case that becomes a household name, there are others with truly twisted circumstances that receive only a fraction of the attention.  Max DeVries is one of these cases. It’s been 22 years since the 14 year old disappeared while on vacation with his family in Aruba and his family deserves to know what happened to him.
