Ep 41: Fern Feather’s Killer Faced Life in Prison — Then Walked Out on Probation

Fern Feather was known as a kind, free spirit. Someone who loved birds, flowers, animals, and making the people around her feel seen. In April 2022, Fern stopped to help a man who was hitchhiking in Vermont. Within days, she was gone. The man who admitted to stabbing Fern, Seth Brunell, was charged with second-degree murder and faced a possible life sentence. But nearly three years later, after the trial finally began, the case suddenly unraveled. Instead of a murder conviction, Fern’s killer was released on probation. This is the story of Fern Feather, who she was, what happened to her, and how a case that once carried the possibility of life in prison ended with no additional prison time. Ep 40: Cheryl Williams Frady Was Killed in 2008. Her Family Is Still Waiting for Answers.

On April 4, 2008, 44-year-old Cheryl Williams Frady was preparing for a family cruise to the Bahamas. She had plans with her daughter Jessica the next day, and by all accounts, there was nothing unusual about her Friday. But on April 5, 2008, Cheryl's life was taken inside her Dawsonville, Georgia home. Eighteen years later, no one has been arrested. In this episode, we look at who Cheryl was, the events leading up to her death, what little has been publicly released about the investigation, and the frustrations her family has shared after years of searching for answers. I also discuss how visibility and public engagement can help keep underreported cases in the public eye. 💜 Special thanks to Cheryl's daughter Jessica for sharing her perspective during my research for this episode. If you have information about Cheryl Williams Frady's death, please contact: 📞 Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Tip Line  1-800-597-8477 📞 Crime Stoppers (Anonymous Tips)  1-800-222-TIPS (8477) Justice for Cheryl Williams Frady Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/justiceforcherylwilliamsfrady #TrueCrime #UnsolvedMurder #CherylWilliamsFrady #ColdCase #GeorgiaTrueCrime #JusticeForCheryl #2026 🔔How to Set Up a Google Alert As mentioned in the episode, setting up a Google Alert can be a simple way to stay informed about cases you care about and help keep them visible by engaging with new articles, videos, and updates as they're published. Google Alerts won't catch every article or social media post, but they're one of the easiest free tools for staying informed about ongoing cases. — Thank you for being here, and for caring about the stories that matter.💜 Please rate, leave a review, and share this episode to help keep these stories like these in the public eye. — 🔔 Follow for more victim-centered true crime cases. 🎙️ Available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and more. ☕ If you’d like to support the podcast, you can do so here: https://buymeacoffee.com/theirvoicematters. Ep 39: Child Hot Car Deaths: The Pattern Behind These Tragedies — And How to Prevent Them

Since 1998, more than 1,000 children in the United States have died in hot cars, and most of these tragedies follow just a few repeating patterns. In today’s episode, we look at the three most common circumstances behind child hot car deaths:  • Children forgotten by caregivers  • Children intentionally left in vehicles  • Children who gained access to vehicles on their own Through the stories of Sofia Aviero, Ke’torrius “KJ” Starkes Jr., Sydney Stanley, Kameron Jamel Williams, Amillio Gutierrez, and Parker Scholtes, we’ll look at what happened, what experts say may contribute to these tragedies, and most importantly, practical prevention strategies that could help save lives. This episode is different from my usual content, but with temperatures rising, I felt this was an important story to tell. 🚨Update: When I recorded this episode, there had been 2 reported child hot car deaths in the US in 2026. While editing, that number increased to 3. As of publishing, there have now been 4 reported deaths this year. Please consider sharing this episode. Awareness matters — and one conversation could make a difference. 📌Resources: https://no-heat-stroke.squarespace.com/  https://www.kidsandcars.org/ https://bagintheback.org/ Thank you for being here, and for caring about the stories that matter.💜 Please rate, leave a review, and share this episode to help keep these stories like these in the public eye. –- 🔔 Follow for more victim-centered true crime cases. 🎙️ Available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and more. ☕ If you’d like to support the podcast, you can do so here: https://buymeacoffee.com/theirvoicematters. Ep 37: Anna Kepner Case Update: Indicted as an Adult in Federal Court

A major legal development has occurred in the case of Anna Kepner, the 18-year-old who died during a family cruise in November 2025. In this update, I walk through the newly announced federal indictment, what it means that the case has been transferred to adult prosecution, and what we know so far about how the case will move forward. I also explain the earlier sealed proceedings and how this new development fits into the timeline of the investigation. Because this case involves a minor and previously sealed court records, many details have only recently become public. This episode focuses on confirmed information from official statements and court filings, without speculation. If you’re new to this case, I recommend checking out my full episode covering the timeline of what happened on the cruise, as well as my previous update on the initial court proceedings. Ep. 35: New Court Developments in the Death of Anna Kepner

New court developments have emerged in the case of 18-year-old Anna Kepner, who died during a family cruise in November 2025. In this update, I walk through what has been publicly reported about a recent sealed federal court appearance involving Anna’s stepbrother, what is known and not yet known about the legal process due to the defendant’s age, and how juvenile and potential adult charges typically work in the federal system. I also discuss reported custody court information and conflicting family accounts about how close the two were. Because this case involves a minor and sealed proceedings, many details have not been made public. This episode focuses only on confirmed reporting and clearly identified court filings, without speculation. If you’re new to this case, I recommend listening to my original full episode on Anna Kepner first, which covers the cruise timeline and investigation in detail. It’s available now. On the morning of June 7, 1992, three women vanished from a home in Springfield, Missouri without signs of forced entry, without a struggle, and without any clear explanation. Sherrill Levitt, her daughter Suzie Streeter, and Suzie’s friend Stacy McCall were last known to be inside the house just hours earlier. More than 30 years later, the case remains unsolved. While many theories exist, no one has ever been charged in connection with the disappearance of Sherrill, Suzie, or Stacy - The Springfield Three. In this episode, we take a careful, in-depth look at what happened before and after that night including the timeline, early investigation, witness reports, known persons of interest, and the theories that have shaped the case over the decades.
