The moon is not a frontier like Earth. It’s an environment that degrades human health. Low gravity weakens bones. Living in sealed confinement degrades mental health. There’s no open air, sun-grown food, or grassy pastures. You’re inhabiting a confined box and calling that living.
Try that here on Earth. Spend a year indoors with no walking outside, no fresh air, no lush landscape or sun-grown food. That would provide you with a realistic experience.
From an economic perspective, a lunar colony would be a huge drain on taxpayers. Most taxpayers are struggling with rising healthcare costs, high insurance costs, and unaffordable housing. We have solvable problems right here on Earth that compete for taxpayer funding.
Exploring space is one thing. Colonization is another. I wish you could appreciate the extraordinary splendor of Earth: the sunlight on your face, the fresh air, the wildlife, the amazing food. Instead, you romanticize about a lifeless rock with no atmosphere.
Why are people so eager to divert resources away from protecting our living, breathing, life-supporting, fragile, and irreplaceable Earth?
