Consciousness is the Glue of the Practice: Yoga teacher’s experience of The Consciousness Method™

In this episode, Allura sits down with Jen Best, owner of Kula Body yoga studio and a facilitator at the upcoming November retreat, to talk about the gap between a spiritual awakening and an integrated life. From a sudden Kundalini experience that cracked her open, to decades of A-type banking-world patterning she didn't even know she was running, Jen shares what it actually took to bring "Source" into her kids, her partner, and her yoga room. Key Takeaways 📌 🌊 Awakening is the easy part. Jen's Kundalini experience gave her access to bliss and timelessness, but coming back to "eyes open" life with kids who wouldn't speak to her was a different kind of work entirely. 🦋 You need the struggle to fly. The butterfly-and-chrysalis story: cut the struggle short and the wings never strengthen. Pain and fear aren't obstacles to the work, they're part of it. 🌿 You can't bypass your way to wholeness. Jen's parsley analogy: strip out just the "good" nutrient and you lose the synergy. Trying to only feel love, without fear, pain, or shame, doesn't work the same way. 💪 Strengthen the nervous system, don't suppress it. Rather than teaching people to calm down and shrink, the work builds capacity to actually hold pain and fear without being run by them. 📓 Structure is what makes it stick. Journaling plus meditation, week by week, was the difference between insight that fades and change that integrates into the body. 🔁 Change shows up in incremental golden moments. Not a single dramatic before-and-after, but daily flashes of self-awareness, like catching yourself mid-pattern while washing the dishes. Who this is for Yoga teachers and healers who want to hold space for the whole picture, not just the "good vibes." Anyone who's had a peak spiritual experience and struggled to bring it into ordinary life. Over givers and A-types ready to trade suppression for real capacity. A few questions to sit with Where are you trying to bypass your way to love instead of moving through what's actually there? What pattern have you been "asleep" to for years, and what would it take to turn the light back on? Is your nervous system suppressing right now, or is it strong enough to hold what's true? Go deeper This conversation is a preview of what's coming. Jen will be facilitating at the November retreat, and Allura is heading back to Kula Body for the next in-person Pattern Shift, a 4-hour experience to feel the work in your body and see if it's aligned for you. The Freedom That Comes from Claiming Your Own Pain

Some transitions can't be forced from the outside, they have to be earned in the body, one trigger, one truth, at a time. In this episode, Allura sits down with Hayley, a member of The Consciousness Method™ community, as she shares her journey through decades of suppression and survival mode into a life led by love instead of fear. From childhood family-of-origin wounding, to years of masking pain behind “other people have it worse,” to becoming the mother of a daughter with a profound disability, Hayley opens up about what it took to finally feel what she had only ever understood intellectually, and how that shift rippled out into her relationship, her parenting, and her sense of purpose. 🧠 Knowing isn't the same as feeling. Hayley could explain her patterns and her history for years, but she didn't have an intimate relationship with her pain until she learned to actually feel it in her body. 🚨 Panic attacks can be a doorway, not just a problem. Instead of dismissing her anxiety as something to manage, Hayley learned to go deeper into what it was protecting her from. 👶 Survival patterns often start young. An early family rupture taught Hayley to mute her own pain and take responsibility for other people's happiness, a pattern that shaped decades of her life. 🎗️ “Permission to have your pain” changes everything. Believing that others always had it worse kept Hayley from claiming her own experience, until she gave herself permission to feel it. 🕯️ Some truths need a safe container before they can be spoken. Hayley's realization about her daughter's future independence surfaced unexpectedly, in community, before she had even consciously thought it. 💔 Facing the unthinkable can free you to love more fully. Grieving her daughter's mortality in an altered state allowed fear to step out of the driver's seat and let love lead instead. 🌱 Liberating yourself liberates the people you love. As Hayley let go of fear-driven control, her daughter gained the freedom to live more independently too. Parents and carers running on survival mode. Anyone who intellectually understands their patterns but hasn't yet felt them shift in their body. Anyone supporting a loved one with complex needs, navigating fear-based parenting, or curious what it takes to move from suppression into an embodied, purpose-driven life. Where in your life have you decided your pain doesn't count because “someone else has it worse”? What would it look like to give yourself full permission to feel, rather than manage or minimize, your pain? Is fear currently in the driver's seat of any part of your life, and what would change if love took the wheel instead? If this speaks to something you've been carrying, watch the full conversation. Expanding into Purpose

Knowing exactly what you want and still not being able to move toward it is one of the most disorienting places to live. In this episode, Allura sits down with Stephanie, a guide within The Consciousness Method™ community and practitioner of Spinal Energetics, as she shares her journey through a real transition, from an established, familiar way of working into something less conventional and far more aligned and everything that came up along the way: fear, self-doubt, family-of-origin patterns, and a nervous system that had to be worked with rather than fought against. Key Takeaways📌 🔄 Some transitions can't be phased in. Sometimes real change requires dropping everything you know and rebuilding from zero, rather than easing in gradually. 🌫️ Old stories are illusions, not truths. Instead of arguing her way out of fear-based thinking, Stephanie learned to simply see the stories as illusions and let that recognition do the work. 💻 The nervous system is outdated software, not something to fix. Progress came from stretching its capacity, not waiting to feel "regulated" before moving forward. 🧠 Knowing isn't the same as feeling. Stephanie could explain her family-of-origin pattern intellectually long before she ever felt, in her body, how deeply it was encoded. 🎯 Moving toward fear changes everything. Running from pain kept the pattern running the show; turning toward it instead of away was what finally let it shift. 🛠️ Having tools changes your relationship to triggers. With a way to self-process, emotional loops stopped controlling her from underneath. 👥 Being truly seen by a community accelerates the work. Staying guarded around people she didn't know well had kept old patterns intact; letting herself be seen was part of what moved her forward. Who this is for: Anyone who already knows what they want and still can't seem to move. Anyone who understands their patterns in their head but hasn't felt them shift in their body. Anyone curious about nervous system work, family-of-origin healing, or what it actually takes to reprogram old conditioning rather than just manage it. A few questions to sit with: Where in your life do you already know what you want, but keep finding reasons to delay it?What would it look like to see your limiting stories as illusions rather than truths, without needing to argue them away first? Are you trying to regulate your nervous system, or are you willing to stretch its capacity instead? If this speaks to something you've been carrying, watch the full conversation. From Looping to Free: A Journey Through Grief, Marriage, and Coming Home to Herself

In this heartfelt conversation, Allura sits down with Donna to reflect on an eight-month journey that began with a retreat last November. The conversation traces Donna's path from feeling stuck in “the looping, the circles, the repetitiveness” of a life that never quite changed despite decades of therapy. It moves into a season of profound release. Donna talks about unexpected past-life insights, faces the pain of a difficult marriage, and traces the roots of her patterns back to a childhood spent in an orphanage with her younger brother. This episode looks at how naming what runs under us can open the door to freedom. This Might Be You If... 📌 💛 You have done the work, therapy, journaling, self-help books, and you still loop back to the same pain. ✨ One moment cracked something open in you, and you are still making sense of what you saw. 🔍 Something you thought you had already healed from still steers your relationships.👁️ There is something you have never said out loud, and you can feel the weight of carrying it. 🌿 A role you took on as a kid, whether protector, peacemaker, or the strong one, still runs the show, even now. 🔗 Saying no still feels like a small rebellion, even when you know you deserve to say it. 🤝 You crave people who get it, instead of polite advice. 💫 You know the healing is never complete, and you just want a real way to keep meeting what comes up. From Forced Joy to Real Wholeness

What does it look like to spend years chasing positivity and gratitude, only to realize they were keeping you from yourself? In this episode, Allura sits down with Rachel, a student of The Consciousness Method™ mentorship, as she shares her journey from forced happiness and buried emotions to finding her invisible little self and changing the way she relates to the memory of her late parents. Key Takeaways 📌 💛 Positivity can be a survival strategy, not a resolution. Rachel spent years directing her life toward joy and gratitude, but underneath was a density she had shut down completely. 🔍 Believing you've gone deep isn't the same as going deep. Rachel thought she was doing the work until she was told to go further, and realized she couldn't yet feel anything at all. 👁️ Invisibility can hide in plain sight. In every family memory, Rachel could find everyone else but never herself, until one moment finally brought her own little self to center stage. ✨ When internal work lands, external reality moves fast. Within 24 hours of her breakthrough, her daughter called wanting a visit, and her son invited her on a family outing that hadn't happened in years. 🔗 Rewriting the past is still possible, even after loss. With both parents gone, Rachel continues uncovering new layers, like considering their own greatest fears, that keep expanding her family story. 🌀 The container compounds the individual work. Watching others move through their own stories, and having them reflect back to her that hers mattered too, gave Rachel a depth of growth she couldn't have reached alone. 🕊️ Healing echoes across generations. Reflecting on how her mindset shaped her children, including a daughter's struggle with anorexia, Rachel is now working to change the lineage she passes forward. Sylvia's Return to Trust: Journey of Liberation

In this personal conversation, Allura sits with Sylvia, whose path into this work began through an unexpected door: her daughter's transformation. The conversation traces years Sylvia spent inside another consciousness paradigm, years of chronic pain, and the separation she felt from her own body. Sylvia shares the reframe that changed her relationship with pain, a forty-minute walk after years of managing five, and the freedom she found once she let her body lead. This episode looks at how physical pain and old patterns can open into growth when met with curiosity instead of correction, and what it looks like to let the body lead the way. Key Takeaways 📌 💛 A daughter's transformation opened the door. Sylvia's daughter worked with Allura for months before Sylvia knew, and what she heard in her daughter's voice brought her to this work. ✨ Healing means a shift in frequency. Sylvia's reframe moved her away from treating pain as something broken and toward pain as information. 🔍 Pain became a portal. Each pain portal opened a doorway into consciousness instead of proof something had gone wrong. 👁️ Forty minutes after years of five. A new relationship with pain let Sylvia walk further than she had in over two years. 🌿 The desire to move came from inside her. Her body asked to walk, and no outside program set the plan. 🔗 Old patterns began to release. A pain portal at work led Sylvia to release the need for credit and recognition. 🤝 Love was there from the start. Sylvia recognized herself as an expression of love, rather than someone who must learn to love herself. 🌀 Freedom grew even as pain stayed present. The pain stopped running the show. 💫 The exploration continues. Sylvia moves toward the next level of this work, still uncovering her own voice. Grief, Rebirth, and Reconnection

In this deeply personal conversation, Allura sits down with longtime client Lisiane to reflect on a multi-year journey that began in 2023 with one-on-one somatic coaching sessions. The conversation traces Lisiane’s path through profound loss, the death of her daughter, Gaia and the physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation that followed, including a near-collapse experience in New Zealand, her return to group work, a surprising and healing phone call with her estranged father, and her current pregnancy as she awaits the birth of her next child. This episode is a candid look at how grief, pain, and inherited family patterns can become portals for growth rather than forces to avoid, and what it looks like to slowly rebuild connection with others and with yourself after devastating loss. Key Takeaways 📌 💛 Presence matters more than words. After losing her daughter Gaia, what Lucy remembers most is Allura simply showing up. ✨ The body breaks down before it breaks through. A collapse in New Zealand became Lisiane’s "death of the limited self." 🔍 Grief reshapes identity, not just emotion. The people-pleasing version of Lisiane couldn't survive the loss intact. 👁️ Small stretches rebuild connection. Group work, taken in small doses, brought Lisiane back into the community. 🌿 Pain has to be allowed, not managed. Letting it fully move through her is what created each "upgrade." 🔗 New life arrived once the old pattern was released. Lisiane didn't conceive again until after her New Zealand breakdown. 🤝 Inner healing ripples outward. An unplanned call led to a 40-minute reconnection with her estranged father. 🌀 Family patterns are imprints, not identity. Naming inherited fear as a pattern — not truth — was liberating. 💫 The work never really ends. Challenges keep coming, but now Lisiane has a map for moving through them. Ten Years of Searching. Three Months to Arrive.

What does it look like to spend a decade trying every modality available, get close, hit a wall, and still feel stuck in the same loops? In this episode, Allura sits down with Liz, a student of The Consciousness Method™ mentorship, who shares her journey from years of unresolved patterns and a nervous system in constant survival mode, to finding her inner child, rebuilding her relationships, and feeling whole for the first time. Liz traces it all. The talk therapy, EMDR, sound healing, and soul journeys that brought her close but could not get her to the root. The survival pattern of walking two hours a day without knowing she was running. The resistance toward her inner child and the moment they finally merged. The unraveling that asked every relationship in her life to dissolve or evolve. And the HRV data that confirmed what she could already feel in her body. Key Takeaways 📌 💛 Knowing where your patterns come from and actually moving through them are two different things. Liz had years of self-awareness and still could not break the loops until the work became embodied.✨ The body holds the survival pattern before the mind can name it. Liz was walking two hours a day as a form of running. The nervous system will find a way to keep moving until it feels safe to stop.🔍 Inner child resistance is part of the process. Liz pushed her younger self away again and again before she could sit with her. The merge happened on the other side of that resistance.👁️ When you cannot access key memories, the details of the story are beside the point. What matters is the pain and fear held in the body. That is where the work goes.🌿 When internal work is done, external reality reorganises itself. Liz's marriage deepened. Her eldest child's nervous system began to settle. Her family began to flow in a way it never had before.🔗 The unraveling is part of the arrival. There comes a point where the old patterns can no longer hold. Liz had to speak her truth across every relationship. Everything dissolved or evolved. Everything evolved.🌀 The container compounds the individual work. Watching other people move through their own layers, even without sharing, moves something in you. Other people's shares become mirrors for your own next step.🦋 The nervous system shift is measurable. Liz's HRV moved from 10 to 22 in a matter of weeks. What is happening in the inner work shows up in the body.🤝 You do not have to remember everything to heal it. Liz could not access certain memories and had reached a ceiling in other modalities because of it. The Consciousness Method™ does not require the details to get to the root.💫 Wholeness is the destination. Liz used one word when asked how she feels now. Whole. That is what this work is for.Go Deeper 👇 If this episode resonates, please follow the show and leave a review.
