    90. YOU KEEP CALLING IT LOVE BECAUSE YOU’RE AFRAID TO CALL IT WHAT IT IS

What if some of the things you've been calling love were actually rejection, inconsistency, emotional starvation, fear of abandonment, or the desperate need to finally be chosen? Sis, this conversation goes deep. Sometimes we don't choose relationships based on what's healthy—we choose based on what's familiar. If you grew up chasing your father's attention, wondering whether he would show up, trying to earn affection, or questioning why you weren't enough for him to stay, those wounds don't automatically disappear when you become an adult. Sometimes they follow you straight into your relationships. And before you know it, you're chasing someone else's attention, making excuses for inconsistency, falling in love with potential, accepting emotional breadcrumbs, and calling anxiety chemistry. In Episode 90 of Through My Father’s Eyes, we're uncovering how father wounds can quietly shape what we accept, tolerate, chase, excuse—and ultimately call love. We're talking about the difference between love and attachment, boundaries and walls, chemistry and anxiety, compassion and rescuing, and being chosen versus knowing your worth before anyone chooses you. Because here's the truth: You can love somebody and still admit they're hurting you. You can forgive someone without giving them unlimited access to you. You can see someone's potential without making their potential your responsibility. And you can stop fighting to be chosen by people who require you to abandon yourself in order to keep them. Maybe you're not afraid of losing them. Maybe you're afraid their rejection will confirm the lie you've carried since childhood: “I'm still not enough.” But their inability to love you correctly does not determine your worth. God already settled that. You are loved. You are chosen. And you don't have to audition for either one. 🎧 Press play if you're ready to stop calling familiar pain love and start recognizing the kind of love that doesn't require you to lose yourself.   ✨ Connect with Me: Have a question, story, or topic you'd love to hear on the show? 89. “YOU LEARNED TO SURVIVE SO WELL, YOU FORGOT HOW TO LIVE”

You learned how to keep going when you were hurting. You learned how to show up when you were exhausted. You learned how to take care of everybody else, figure things out on your own, hide your emotions, and say “I’m fine” even when you were falling apart inside. And somewhere along the way, survival became a way of life. In this powerful episode of Through My Father’s Eyes, we’re talking about what happens when the survival skills that once protected you begin preventing you from experiencing the life God is trying to give you. Maybe people call you strong, independent, dependable, and resilient—but they don't know what it cost you to become that woman. Maybe asking for help feels uncomfortable. Maybe rest makes you feel guilty. Maybe you struggle to trust people. Maybe peace makes you nervous because you're always waiting for something to go wrong. Maybe you've become so accustomed to carrying everything that you don't know who you are when nobody needs you. Sis, functioning isn't the same as healing. In Episode 89, we dig into hyper-independence, emotional walls, childhood survival patterns, fear of vulnerability, difficulty receiving love and support, and the dangerous belief that being strong means handling everything alone. We also talk about the difference between boundaries and walls and why some behaviors we call “strength” may actually be armor we developed after being hurt. Most importantly, we're asking a question that could change the way you see your healing journey: Who would you be if you weren't constantly trying to survive? God didn't bring you through everything you've survived just for you to spend the rest of your life emotionally living there. You survived it. Now it's time to learn how to live. This episode includes biblical encouragement, powerful reflection questions, healing affirmations, a declaration, and a closing prayer for the woman who is finally ready to put down the armor and experience peace. 🎧 Press play and give yourself permission to live again.   ✨ Connect with Me: Have a question, story, or topic you'd love to hear on the show?
