    Leviticus: The Ultimate Life Preserver

START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Leviticus 14:33–57, Leviticus 15, and Leviticus 16. WORD OF THE DAY: Cleanse. TAKEAWAY: Today’s reading covers everything from moldy houses to bodily discharges, and finally, the powerful ritual of the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). While the "TMI" sections about infections and discharges might seem strange, they served as a "life preserver" for the Israelites. These laws taught a nation of former slaves how to live in relationship with the Holy King of the universe who was now dwelling among them. The Day of Atonement shows us the depth of God’s grace—providing a yearly way to remove every last ounce of sin through the symbolic scapegoat and the high priest's intercession. ACTION STEPS: Use the COMA Method: As you read, remember: Context (Who is the audience?), Observations (What does it say?), Meaning (What did it mean to them?), and Application (What does it mean for me?). Identify the "Specks": Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any "spiritual mold" creeping into your heart—those little specks of bitterness or discontent that we often overlook before they spread. Set No Vile Thing Before Your Eyes: Take Tricia’s advice and be intentional about what you watch and consume today. Is it helping you stay spiritually clean? Unlock the Secret Door: If you haven't joined our "Narnia-like" Facebook community group yet, come on in! Look for "Daily Bible Podcast" under groups and join the conversation. KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." — 1 John 1:9 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. The Spiritual Side of Scratched Walls and Skin Rashes

START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Leviticus 12, 13, and 14. WORD OF THE DAY: Clean. TAKEAWAY: Today we tackle the detailed laws concerning purification after childbirth, skin diseases, and even mold in houses. While these "TMI" passages can be difficult to read, they emphasize that God is concerned with every detail of our lives—from our physical health to our communal well-being. These rituals weren't just about hygiene; they were about restoration. When someone was declared "clean," they were reintegrated into the community and restored to the presence of God. It reminds us that sin and uncleanness separate us, but God always provides a pathway back to Him. ACTION STEPS: Use the SOAP Method: Cleanse your spiritual life by applying the SOAP method to your reading today: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Don't just look at the soap—scrub with it! Scrape the "Mildew": Just as the Israelites had to scrape mold off their walls, ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify any "spiritual mildew" (bitterness, greed, or whispered lies) that needs to be scraped out of your heart. Share the Adventure: Finding the "share" button is like an adventure! Go find it on your podcast app and send this episode to a friend who might be struggling to get through Leviticus. Rate and Review: If you've been encouraged by our journey through the Word, please give us a 5-star rating and leave a comment letting us know why you appreciate the Daily Bible Podcast! KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." — Philippians 4:8 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. When Glory Falls: Living in the Presence

Here are your show notes for Day 50! This is a powerful milestone as we see the transition from preparation to the actual presence of God dwelling among His people. YouTube Show Notes START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Leviticus 9, 10, and 11. WORD OF THE DAY: Among. TAKEAWAY: Today is a turning point! After weeks of preparation and instruction, the priests finally begin their work, and the glory of the Lord appears to the whole community. We see God move from the summit of Mount Sinai to dwelling right in the midst of the camp. However, we also see the weight of His holiness in the tragic story of Nadab and Abihu. This serves as a sobering reminder that God is not to be trifled with; He is holy, and He calls us to distinguish between what is sacred and what is common. ACTION STEPS: Practice His Presence: Like Michelle’s yellow sticky note, try to "Practice His Presence" today. Remind yourself throughout the day: God is here, He is with me, and He is in me. Audit Your "Home Embassy": Think of your home as an embassy for the Kingdom of God. What is one small thing you can do today to make your space feel more like a sanctuary where God dwells? Share Your Roots: Head over to our Facebook community group and tell us where you are from or a favorite place you’ve visited! We love seeing how God is working among people all around the world. Choose Sacred Over Common: In a world that is increasingly lax about holiness, identify one area where you can raise your standard to reflect God’s righteousness today. KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy." — Leviticus 11:44 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. More Than Law School: Finding Beauty in the Ritual

Here is the comprehensive pack for Day 49 of the Daily Bible Podcast! YouTube Show Notes START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Leviticus 7 and Leviticus 8. WORD OF THE DAY: Exhibit. TAKEAWAY: Today we delve into the "ordination" of the priests. We see a vivid picture of Moses anointing Aaron and his sons with blood on their right earlobes, thumbs, and big toes. This wasn't just a ritual; it was a physical exhibit of their total dedication to God. It symbolized that their ears were set apart to listen to Him, their hands to do His work, and their feet to walk in His ways. While these ancient laws can feel heavy, they serve as a beautiful reminder of how God provides a way for us to live in His holy presence. ACTION STEPS: Share the Journey: Accountability makes a difference! Hit the share button on this podcast and send it to your mom, daughter, or a friend. Invite them to walk through Leviticus with you. Reflect on the "Between": Consider the role of the priest as a "middleman." Then, spend a moment thanking Jesus, our perfect High Priest, who mediates for us once and for all so we can approach God directly. Audit Your "Ear, Thumb, and Toe": Think about your day. What are you listening to? What are your hands busy doing? Where are your feet taking you? Ask God to set these parts of your life apart for His glory today. Connect in Community: Visit our Facebook group and tell us: Did the meaning behind the blood on the ear, thumb, and toe surprise you? We’d love to hear your thoughts! KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "Moses also placed some of the blood on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot." — Leviticus 8:23 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. The High Cost of "I Didn't Mean To"

START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Leviticus 4, 5, and 6. WORD OF THE DAY: Standard. TAKEAWAY: Even when we sin "unintentionally," it still matters to a holy God. In today’s reading, we see that whether it was a high priest, a leader, or a common person, an unblemished sacrifice was required to make things right. These laws weren't meant to be a burden, but a manual for living in a way that honors God’s presence. While we are so thankful we no longer have to offer bulls and goats, these chapters remind us that our actions have consequences and that God’s standard for holiness remains high. ACTION STEPS: Dig In Even When It’s Hard: If you’re feeling "zoned out" by the details of Leviticus, remember 2 Timothy 3:16—all scripture is God-breathed and useful! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you retain what you read today. Acknowledge the "I Didn't Mean To's": We all have unintentional infractions in our relationships. Take a moment to see if there is an "unintentional" hurt you've caused a friend or spouse that needs a quick "I'm sorry" to make things right. Aim for Excellence, Not Just "Good Enough": Reflect on where you might be settling for "good enough" in your spiritual walk. How can you lean on God's strength to raise the bar today? Join the Conversation: Head over to our Facebook group and share one thing that "stopped you in your tracks" during today's reading. We love learning from your inquisitive brains! KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." — 2 Timothy 3:16 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. The Instruction Manual: Why Leviticus Matter

START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Numbers 8, Numbers 9:1–14, and Leviticus 1–3. WORD OF THE DAY: Substitution. TAKEAWAY: In today's reading, we see God rearranging things for His perfect order. He substituted the Levites for the firstborn sons of Israel, and He established a system of animal sacrifices to stand in for the people. Specifically, the "peace offering" wasn't meant to make peace, but to enjoy peace with God. It was a communion meal—a way to affirm their covenant relationship. It all points to the ultimate substitution: Jesus, our unblemished sacrifice. ACTION STEPS: Work on the Memory Verse: Join us in memorizing Psalm 77:11: "Then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago." Repeat "recall all" to yourself today whenever you feel overwhelmed. Redefine Peace: If you’ve been struggling to feel at peace with God, remember that because of Christ’s substitution, you can enjoy peace with Him right now. Take five minutes today just to sit in His presence without asking for anything. Establish "Sacrificial" Rituals: We don't have to slaughter animals, but we can offer sacrifices of praise. Try Tricia’s trick: When you're doing a chore you dislike (like laundry!), turn it into a ritual of thanks for the people those clothes belong to. Connect with the Community: Drop a comment in our Facebook group! Let us know where you’re from and how long you’ve been following the Lord. We love seeing our group grow! KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "I have claimed the Levites for myself in place of all the firstborn sons of the Israelites." — Numbers 8:16 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. Diligence in the Details: Celebrating the Dedication

START HERE: Get the printable schedule: https://bit.ly/DailyBiblePodcast JOIN THE COFFEE CLUB: https://substack.com/@dailybiblecoffeeclub TODAY’S READING: Numbers 7. WORD OF THE DAY: Diligence. TAKEAWAY: For 12 consecutive days, the leaders of the 12 tribes brought identical offerings to the Tabernacle. This repetition wasn't an accident; it was a display of unity and equal commitment. Every tribe, from Judah to Naphtali, showed the same diligence in honoring God’s new dwelling place. Their hard work reminds us that our daily, persistent effort to meet with God—even when it feels repetitive—is a beautiful act of worship. ACTION STEPS: Celebrate the Milestone: You’ve officially read three books of the Bible! Pause and thank God for the persistence He has given you to make it this far. Identify Your "Offering": The tribes brought grain, incense, and livestock. What is your offering to God today? Is it a quiet 15 minutes of prayer, a spirit of patience, or an act of service? Offer it with joy. Practice "Robin-level" Diligence: Whether you wake up at 3:00 a.m. like Tricia’s friend or find time during your lunch break, commit to being careful and persistent in your study today. Leave some "Star Love": If you’re enjoying the journey, take a moment to rate the podcast and leave a comment. Your diligence in doing so helps other seekers find this community! KEY SCRIPTURE (NLT): "Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s cover..." — Numbers 7:89 SOCIALS: Tricia Goyer Instagram | Facebook | Twitter (X) | LinkedIn Michelle Hill Instagram | LinkedIn DISCLAIMER: The Daily Bible Podcast, Tricia Goyer, Michelle Hill, and affiliates are not a church, pastor, spiritual authority, or counseling service. WORD OF THE DAY: Guide. TAKEAWAY: Completion brings a profound sense of accomplishment, but for the Israelites, the real reward wasn't the beautiful Tabernacle—it was the Presence that moved into it. Whether it was the Cloud by day or the Fire by night, God made His guidance visible. Today, we don't have a physical cloud, but we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, leading us one step at a time. ACTION STEPS: Celebrate Your Progress: We are six weeks into this year! Take a moment to look back and thank God for the strength He has given you to stay in His Word. You are completing a "work" just like the Israelites did. Look for Your "God Cloud": Where do you need guidance today? Spend five minutes in silence, asking the Holy Spirit to stir your heart toward the next right step. Do the "Hard Thing": As Tricia mentioned, the blessing is found in the doing. Is there a command in the Bible you’ve been avoiding? Take one active step toward obedience today. Join the Community: Head over to our Facebook group and share a story of a time you felt God clearly guiding your steps. We love hearing how the Master Guide is working in your life!
