Mighty Champions: Action Figure Radio is a weekly podcast for action figure collectors who never really stopped playing.  Hosted by lifelong collectors Jon Sargent and Christian McGahan, the show covers action figures and collectibles from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and today, with equal love for vintage classics and modern lines. From WWE, Marvel Legends, and DC Universe Classics to TMNT, Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Power Rangers, He-Man, and beyond, nothing is off the table if it belongs in the toy aisle conversation. Each episode blends nostalgia, current hobby news, and real collector perspective. The hosts break down new reveals, recent pickups, and major moments in toy history, while also getting into group toy hunts, live drafts, secondary-market chaos, Whatnot sales, convention stories, and the way collecting actually fits into adult life. This isn’t an instruction manual or a hype machine. It’s a hangout for collectors who’ve been doing this long enough to have opinions, stories, wins, losses, and shelves that tell a story. Sometimes the show goes deep on a single era or toy line. Sometimes it turns into a creative exercise about how and why we connect with these figures in the first place.     Maximum Carnage Ultimate Display | SDCC '26 | Toy Biz Spider-Man TAS

    On this week’s episode, we catch up on our latest toy hunts. Christian’s long road trip comes up almost empty, except for a hilarious find that longtime listeners will appreciate, while Jon finally scores a rare W over Walmart. Then we build The Ultimate Display for Maximum Carnage, creating the complete display based on the legendary 1994 Spider-Man game and the comic that inspired it.     This week on Mighty Champions: Action Figure Radio, Jon makes the biggest sale of his collecting career, saying goodbye to his entire GI Joe Classified collection along with select Marvel Legends and WWE figures.     The Most Money We Have Ever Spent on Action Figures!

    Today, we recount the most expensive toy hunting trip we’ve ever taken. What started as a visit to Retromania in Dripping Springs, Texas, quickly turned into a full-blown toy odyssey. After scoring incredible hauls at the show, we still weren’t satisfied, so we made a two-hour detour to two more toy stores in San Antonio, leading to even more major purchases. We break down the entire adventure, the stories behind the finds, and every action figure we brought home. Then we dive into a collector discussion about toy stores and toy shows, sharing our thoughts on what sellers do that keeps collectors coming back—and the things we’d love to see changed. As always, we bring you the latest action figure news, including the biggest announcements from Yo Joe June, where legendary G.I.     The Action Figure Hall of Fame

    On Episode 50 of Mighty Champions: Action Figure Radio, we celebrate our 1-year anniversary with our first-ever Action Figure Hall of Fame.  We kick things off with our hauls from Chemical Toy Fair in Austin, TX, where Christian scored an awesome 1998 Godzilla and Jon completed the BK Kids Club TMNT VHS set, plus found a grail that just happens to be up for Hall of Fame induction, and Christian shares some childhood trauma from Taekwondo class. Then we reveal our personal Hall of Fame picks, pure heart-over-head selections, that represent who we are as collectors and how we got here.  As always, we cover the latest action figure news, including WWE Ringside Collectibles exclusive reveals, McFarlane Sports Legends, and more.  Finally, the main event: using the fan vote from Instagram, we discuss and induct winners across superhero figures, wrestling figures, movie/TV figures, vehicles, and miscellaneous toys into the prestigious Mighty Champions Action Figure Hall of Fame.  This one gets personal, analytical, nostalgic, and celebratory.

    On the penultimate episode before our 1 Year Anniversary celebration, we kick things off by breaking down our latest toy purchases, and Jon gives his honest review of the brand new Masters of the Universe movie. Then we dive into one of our most popular recurring segments, Toy Aisle Time Capsule, as we travel back to the year 2000 and revisit everything happening in pop culture, movies, television, wrestling, video games, and the action figure aisle during the Y2K era.
