David's podcast Founders has been an awesome source of condensed knowledge. In the past, he has discussed how he likes the idea of "becoming friends with the eminent dead." He has often times mentioned how he does not want to read about those who are still living. I believe this is due to the fact that their stories are not fully written, which I totally agree. It is interesting that as he has gained more influence, that he has now become associated with current founders and other prominent individuals, and is now telling stories whichever yet unwritten. I agree with some prior commenter about how he is not too great about interviewing people, but instead wants to push his canned knowledge gained, linked, and repeated oftentimes in his Founders episodes into the conversations. As a frequent listener of Founders, I am excited to hear from some of these individuals, only to have David's ego of "his knowledge" get in the way of the words of folks blazing a path I want to learn about. As a side note, David's an awesome dude, I love Founders. I think he'll learn and "be embarrassed" about these initial interviews. It's just too bad that he is using a lot of his social capital to bring some heavy hitters in the first episodes before he hones his craft. Also David, if you're reading this, thank you for all the work in Founders, please don't let that part fall. My 5 stars is not for what it is, but for what I believe you'll make of it.
