Have you found yourself wrestling with how to trust God and His timing, especially when it comes to your children who have grown distant? Do you lie awake at night worrying about your prodigal children, wishing you knew how to pray with confidence instead of fear? Maybe your life feels like a rollercoaster - cycling between sadness, shame, and loss.  If this sounds like you, I’m glad you’re here. It’s time to stop hitting the snooze button on your faith and start living fully awakened to a deeper walk with God —one that brings peace, healing, and clarity—even in the middle of strained relationships. The Praying Moms of Estranged Children podcast has a simple mission: to help you grow your faith by trusting God with your broken relationships. Inside this podcast, you’ll learn how to: Awaken to the power of prayer so you have strength as you face life’s hardest moments with strength Trust God with your prodigal or estranged adult children—even when answers feel delayed Heal from past wounds by understanding your identity in Christ and standing on God’s promises Hi, I’m Sarah Wall– mom of two adult kids, a Jesus-loving wife, and a woman who knows what it feels like to have her faith shaken to the core. For years, the cares of life kept my faith on the back burner…until some wake-up calls jolted me out of my spiritual slumber! Between the end of my first marriage, the loss of close friendships, seasons of estrangement from my children, and a difficult career transition, I felt disillusioned and defeated. These trials were bigger than anything I had faced before—and too heavy to carry alone. I questioned why God was allowing this to happen, worried instead of prayed, and felt heartbroken. I wanted to trust God, but I didn’t know how to pray through the pain. I tried fixing everything on my own…and then I cried and crashed and broke.  That’s when the Holy Spirit gently woke me up. I realized that I didn’t know how to pray effectively for myself —or for my adult children. As I quieted the noise and made space to listen, God began healing my heart from the inside out. I discovered I was in a spiritual battle–and God’s promises became the anchor my faith desperately needed.  Learning to trust God with my strained relationships wasn’t easy, but it transformed me. The Lord opened my eyes, and I traded my pajamas for spiritual armor. As it dawned on me that faith was the only way through my struggles, I learned how to pray, to trust God’s timing, and to rest in His peace—even when circumstances didn’t change. This new way of living ignited my spiritual growth and snoozed the noise so I could tune into God’s presence consistently. What I learned changed my life, and now I’m here to walk with you. I can’t promise that God will restore every relationship. But I know this: You are not meant to live stuck in worry or heartbreak. As you pray for your prodigals and trust God with your estranged relationships, He will restore your hope, strengthen your faith, and bring peace to your heart. This show delivers faith-filled teaching and practical takeaways to help you awaken your faith in Jesus, move from worry to trusting God, and from brokenness to healing. Wake up to the peace and wholeness you’ve been longing for. Jump out of bed, turn off your alarm clock, and make yourself a strong latte. It’s time to let the Son shine in your life! 55 | Are You Really Tapping Into the Power of Prayer? Go Deeper With God During Estrangement

Episode 55: Are You Really Tapping Into the Power of Prayer? Go Deeper With God During Estrangement Are you praying for your prodigal or estranged child, but wondering whether your prayer life could be stronger than it is right now? When you’re walking through estrangement, worrying about your child’s salvation, or longing for reconciliation, prayer becomes an important part of learning to trust in God’s faithfulness.  But are you really tapping into the power of prayer? In this episode, we’re talking about why a deeper prayer life matters so much when you have an estranged or prodigal child. I’ll challenge you to think about the kind of prayer life you want to have and whether you have a desire to go deeper with God as you pray for your child. We’re going to look at the power and potential of praying persistently and expectantly while still leaving the outcome in God’s hands. Because prayer isn’t only about asking God to change your child or restore your relationship. The time you spend with Him can strengthen you, deepen your faith, and change you in ways you may not expect. If you’ve become discouraged because you’ve prayed for your child for a long time without seeing the answers you’ve hoped for, or you know you want a deeper connection with God but aren’t sure you fully understand what He has given you through prayer, this episode will give you something important to think about. As you pray for your adult child, you can ask boldly for God to move while still surrendering the outcome to Him. And as your relationship with Jesus grows deeper, so can your ability to trust in God and experience God’s peace in the uncertainty of estrangement. I pray this episode encourages you to desire a deeper prayer life and reminds you of the incredible privilege we have to come before the Lord and pray. If you’re struggling with estrangement and need help figuring out what to do in your relationship with your child, I encourage you to schedule a Peaceful Mom Coaching Session. We’ll talk through your challenges and create a personalized action plan to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence as you pray and trust God with your adult child. 54 | Lies About Yourself Don’t Disappear Overnight: Use God’s Truth to Renew Your Mind

Have you recognized some lies you’ve been believing about yourself because of estrangement, but you still struggle to stop believing them? Do the same thoughts about your worth, your mistakes, or who you are as a mom keep coming back—even though you know they aren’t true? Recognizing the lie is the first step, and if you’ve been believing it for a long time, it may take time for God’s truth to really take root. In this second part of my conversation with Marji Broce, host of the Break Free From Insecurity podcast, we’re talking about how to replace lies with God’s truth and renew your mind with Scripture.  We share what to do when old thoughts keep coming back, how biblical meditation helps truth become more deeply rooted in you, and how the Holy Spirit can help you recognize where a lie is still influencing the way you think and live. If your relationship with your estranged or prodigal child has caused you to question yourself, this episode will help you stop rehearsing old lies and start bringing your thoughts into agreement with God’s Word. You’ll learn how to pray through this process, renew your mind with Scripture, and trust in God’s truths to help you believe what He says about you. Your child’s estrangement may be part of your story, but it does not get to define who you are. I pray this episode strengthens your faith and helps you experience God’s peace. Also, if being estranged from your child has left you feeling overwhelmed and you need someone to walk alongside you during your estrangement journey, I encourage you to schedule a Peaceful Mom Coaching Session. I’ll help you identify your next practical steps so you can move forward with renewed hope. 53 | What Has Estrangement Made You Believe About Yourself? How to Recognize the Lies

Has estrangement with your adult child changed the way you see yourself? When your estranged or prodigal child rejects you or pulls away, it can leave you questioning your parenting choices, replaying the past, and wondering what your child’s rejection says about you. In this episode, I’m talking with Marji Broce, host of the Break Free From Insecurity podcast, about how rejection can affect your identity. We’ll talk about how to recognize when guilt or regret has turned into a lie about who you are, the difference between conviction and condemnation, and how a fear of rejection can affect other relationships. If you’re struggling with shame or second-guessing yourself as a mom, this conversation will help you separate your child’s opinion of you from what God says is true—so you can continue to pray, grow your trust in God, and experience more of God’s peace. I pray this episode blesses you! If you need help figuring out what to do next with your adult child, my Peaceful Mom Coaching Session gives you a place to talk through your specific situation. 49 | When Your Estranged Child Goes Silent: Pray and Trust in God's Promises

When your estranged child stops responding, the silence can feel overwhelming. Every unanswered text, voicemail, or birthday message can leave you wondering what to do next—and how to keep trusting God when nothing seems to be changing. In this episode, I share how the Lord taught me to use the painful season of silence differently. Instead of letting unanswered communication consume my thoughts, I learned how to pray with greater purpose by focusing on what I was trusting God to do rather than on what I was currently seeing. If you're longing for God's peace while you wait for restoration in your family, this episode will give you a Scripture-based approach to praying for your prodigal child with greater confidence as you continue to trust in God. You'll walk away with an action plan to help you align your prayers with God's promises and continue moving forward in faith—even when your estranged child remains silent. I pray this blesses you!
