    The Magic and The Machine

If “AI” makes you want to scroll past - don’t. This one’s witchy and wildly human. Alaina met Omar Karim (@arthur_chance) poolside in Cannes while pulling tarot at a cocktail party (as one does). Before even swapping names, he blurted, “Are you a witch? I love witches!” She quickly knew he belonged in The Coven in the Corner Office.  Omar is an AI filmmaker and creative director who blends art, tech, and earth-based magic to make digital storytelling feel alive and human. He joins the show to share his story and creative journey. The conversation reframes AI (wait till you hear about AI Mum), and Omar discusses how getting outside and embracing the natural and spiritual influences in his life have unlocked new artistic potentials and personal growth. Highlights:  🔮Why the mystical and the practical aren’t opposites - they’re complementary 🔮How earth-based ritual weaves into his creative process 🔮Reconciling masculinity through the divine feminine 🔮Listening to dreams, and yes, hugging a tree at night (safely) 🔮The most optimistic read on the Five and Ten of Swords you’ll hear this year 🔮A humane AI use case: Omar’s “AI Mum” and why it changed my mind about AI as collaborator, not servant or robot overlord About the Guest Omar Karim is a creative director and AI image maker known for his innovative approach to creative storytelling. With over 13 years of experience in advertising and technology, working on campaigns with top fashion and lifestyle brands, including Nike, Burberry, Prada, and Beats By Dre, BBC, Nokia, Purina, he has earned a reputation for pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. More recently, Omar has been at the forefront of the rapidly evolving field of AI for creativity. During his time at Meta, he began exploring the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance the creative process, and has since become a leading voice in this emerging space. Drawing on his deep understanding of design, art, and technology, Omar has developed a unique approach to image-making that blends traditional techniques with cutting-edge AI to create a wholly new form of cinema and story telling Resources  1. @arthur_chance 2.
