047: Line 6: The Role Model

In the final episode of our profile line series, we explore Line 6 in Human Design, traditionally known as the Role Model. But being a role model isn’t about perfection, having all the answers, or telling others how to live. It’s about living, learning, gaining perspective, and eventually embodying what life has taught you. Line 6 moves through three distinct phases: experimentation, observation, and embodiment. From the trial-and-error years of the first phase, to the “roof” of the second phase, and eventually returning to life with greater wisdom and authenticity, the journey of the sixth line is one of evolution. We explore why disappointment can lead to cynicism, why staying on the roof can become a form of disconnection, and why life after 50 may actually be one of the most powerful chapters for a Line 6. Your experiences matter. Your wisdom matters. And you don't have to be perfect to become an example of what’s possible. In this episode: The three phases of the Line 6 journeyWhy the early years can feel messy and experimentalWhat it really means to “go up on the roof”The gift of perspective and objectivityMoving beyond disappointment and cynicismWhy life after 50 can be a powerful new beginningThe difference between being a role model and trying to be perfectHow wisdom becomes something you embody rather than teach And with that, we wrap up our journey through all six profile lines. Next up: how your two profile lines work together.

046: Human Design Line 5: The Heretic & The Problem Solver

In this episode of Finding True North, Kelly-Anne and Jacqueline continue their six-part series exploring the Human Design Profile Lines with a deep dive into Line 5: The Heretic, or what they like to call The Problem Solver. Line 5s have a unique ability to see beyond conventional ways of doing things, cut through complexity, identify what isn't working, and offer practical solutions. They're often natural teachers, leaders, and problem solvers. But there's another side to this powerful gift. Line 5s can experience what Human Design calls a projection field, where other people place their expectations onto them. They may be seen as the person who can fix it, save the day, provide the answer, or know exactly what needs to happen—even when they haven't been given all the information. And that can create enormous pressure. Kelly-Anne and Jacqueline explore what happens when Line 5s begin taking responsibility for problems that aren't actually theirs to solve. They discuss the importance of boundaries, clear communication, and learning to distinguish between recognition and projection. They also explore how this dynamic can show up in parenting, relationships, careers, and the workplace—and why Line 5 children, in particular, need permission to simply be children rather than becoming the "responsible one" who is expected to solve everything. One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is that being capable of solving a problem doesn't mean you're responsible for solving it. Line 5s may have an incredible ability to see what needs to change and offer practical solutions, but they can't control whether someone else chooses to use that solution. They also don't have to carry the weight of every problem simply because someone believes they can fix it. For the Line 5, the questions become: Is this mine to solve? Am I being asked to offer a solution, or am I being expected to carry the problem? What can I actually offer, and what can't I offer? And perhaps most importantly: Do I really want to solve this? This episode is also an invitation for anyone who has a Line 5 in their life to look at the expectations they may be placing on that person. Sometimes what looks like praise—"You're so capable. You always know what to do. I knew you could fix this."—can quietly become a burden. Human Design gives us another opportunity to look at ourselves and our relationships with greater awareness and compassion. You can be a problem solver without becoming everyone's solution.

045: The Power of Connection: Understanding Human Design Line 4

What if your next opportunity isn't waiting for you to work harder, reach more people, or force your way into another room? What if it's already sitting at your table? In this episode of Finding True North, Kelly-Anne and Jacqueline continue their series exploring the six Human Design Profile Lines with a deep dive into Line 4: The Opportunist, Networker, and Community Builder. Kelly-Anne shares her personal experience as a Line 4 and how learning about this part of her Human Design helped her recognize something she hadn't previously seen in herself: the incredible role that relationships and connection have played throughout her life. While the Line 4 is traditionally called the "Opportunist," Kelly-Anne and Jacqueline explore why that label can be misleading. The opportunities that come to a Line 4 aren't about manipulation or taking advantage of people. Instead, they tend to grow naturally from relationships built on trust, warmth, familiarity, and genuine connection. They explore how Line 4s often build influence quietly, through referrals, friendships, communities, and introductions. But they also unpack the challenges that can come with caring so deeply about relationships, including people-pleasing, avoiding conflict, staying in relationships too long, and fearing rejection or loss of belonging. In this episode, we discuss:What Human Design Profile Line 4 representsWhy Line 4 is traditionally called The OpportunistWhy "Community Builder" and "Networker" may better describe the energyHow opportunities can naturally come through existing relationshipsWhy trust and genuine connection are so important to Line 4sThe difference between cold networking and relationship-based connectionHow Line 4s can become powerful connectors for other peopleWhy influence doesn't have to be loud or performativeThe importance of referrals and word-of-mouth in businessHow rejection, betrayal, and exclusion can affect Line 4sThe tendency to people-please or avoid conflict to preserve connectionWhy Line 4s may stay in relationships, jobs, or communities longer than is healthyHow children with Line 4 profiles may experience friendship and belongingThe importance of following your strategy and authority rather than saying yes simply to maintain connectionHow one genuine relationship can change the direction of someone's life One of the most beautiful messages in this episode is that influence doesn't have to be loud. The Line 4 reminds us that relationships matter. Trust matters. Making someone feel included matters. Sometimes a simple introduction, recommendation, conversation, or word of encouragement can create a ripple effect far beyond what we ever see. And for the Line 4, the invitation is to nurture the relationships that already exist rather than constantly searching for the next person, opportunity, or audience. 10 Minute Human Design & Mindset Starter Kit: https://kellyanneappleton.myflodesk.com/starterkit Discover your Human Design: https://humandesignblueprint.com/ Connect with Kelly-Anne: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/appletonkellyanne/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kellyanne.appleton Connect with Jacqueline: Instagram: https://www.instagram

043: The Experimenter - Understanding the Line 3

In this episode of Finding True North, Kelly-Anne and Jacqueline continue their six-part series exploring the Human Design Profile Lines with a deep dive into Line 3: The Experimenter. Jacqueline shares her personal experience of having a Line 3 in her profile and how understanding this part of her design gave her language and permission for experiences she had previously viewed as faults. For Line 3s, life isn't necessarily meant to follow a straight, predictable path. It's about experimenting, experiencing, adjusting, and discovering what actually works. Together, they explore the idea of "trial and error" and why the word error doesn't necessarily mean something has gone wrong. For the Line 3, experiences become information. Mistakes become feedback. Unexpected endings and new beginnings become opportunities to develop resilience, adaptability, and wisdom. They also talk about the "plot twists" that can show up throughout a Line 3's life, the tendency to wonder, Why am I starting again?, and how changing the lens through which you view those experiences can completely shift your relationship with them. In this episode, we discuss:What the Human Design Profile Line 3 representsWhy Line 3 is traditionally called The ExperimenterWhy Line 3s are designed to learn through direct experienceThe connection between trial, error, and wisdomWhy failure can be viewed as information rather than identityThe unexpected plot twists and new beginnings that can characterize the Line 3 experienceHow Line 3s develop resilience and adaptabilityThe tendency to feel like you're always starting overHow relationships can become places of experimentation and discoveryThe shadow side of feeling like a victim or being afraid to try againWhy Line 3s can sometimes play it safe after difficult experiencesHow strategy and authority still guide Line 3s in deciding which opportunities to pursueHow to support the Line 3s in your life without saying, "I told you so!" You're Not Failing. You're Discovering. One of the most powerful reminders in this episode is that our mistakes are not our identity. They're experiences that give us information. 10 Minute Human Design & Mindset Starter Kit: https://kellyanneappleton.myflodesk.com/starterkit Discover your Human Design: https://humandesignblueprint.com/ Connect with Kelly-Anne: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/appletonkellyanne/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kellyanne.appleton Connect with Jacqueline: Instagram: https://www.instagram

042: The Hermit & The Natural: Exploring Human Design Profile Line 2

In this episode of Finding True North, Kelly-Anne and Jacqueline continue their series exploring the six Human Design Profile Lines with a deep dive into Line 2, known as the Hermit and the Natural. Kelly-Anne, who has a Line 2 in her profile, shares her personal experience of needing solitude, retreat, and time away from others to recharge and reconnect with herself. Together, they explore why this need for alone time can sometimes be misunderstood as rejection or disinterest, when in reality, it can be an essential part of how a Line 2 restores their energy and develops their natural gifts. They also explore the other side of the Line 2: the Natural. These are the abilities that seem so easy and instinctive that you may not even recognize them as gifts. When something comes naturally, it's easy to assume everyone can do it. But what feels ordinary to you may be exactly what others see as your genius. In this episode, we discuss:What Human Design Profile Line 2 representsWhy Line 2 is known as both The Hermit and The NaturalThe importance of solitude and retreat for Line 2sWhy needing time alone doesn't mean you don't love or value the people around youHow healthy solitude can become isolation when balance is lostThe natural gifts Line 2s often overlook or undervalueWhy the things that come easily to us can be the hardest gifts to recognizeHow loved ones can support the Line 2s in their livesWhy it's important for Line 2s to communicate their need for solitudeHow recognizing and celebrating your natural abilities can build self-trust This episode is an invitation to stop dismissing the things that come easily to you. Your genius doesn't have to feel extraordinary to you. In fact, it may feel so familiar that you've never considered it a gift at all. And if you're a Line 2, needing time alone isn't selfish. It may be exactly what allows you to recharge, reconnect with yourself, hone your gifts, and return to the world as a fuller version of you. 10 Minute Human Design & Mindset Starter Kit: https://kellyanneappleton.myflodesk.com/starterkit Discover your Human Design: https://humandesignblueprint.com/ Connect with Kelly-Anne: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/appletonkellyanne/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kellyanne.appleton Connect with Jacqueline: Instagram: https://www.instagram
