    Dror Vaknin - Why Your Mind Is Stronger Than Your Body

    Dror Vaknin is a cross country and track coach of 35+ years. Dror is the University of Tampa’s Head Coach for Men’s Track and Cross Country. He started running competitively in 1981. Winning one individual and two team Cross Country Florida State Championships in high school, Dror went on to run at the University of South Florida. He competed at the National Championship in both Cross Country and Track. Finishing 16th nationally in cross country and still holding the USF 10K school record (29:25). Dror ran professionally for 15 years mostly competing in 10K’s and half marathons. He has competed all around the world including the 1996 Olympic Trials. He has run a total of 52 marathons. Dror has been coaching since 1991. He started at USF, his Alma Mater and has been at the University of Tampa over 25 years. Outside of UT, Dror has coached for the Progressive Training Team since 1992 and Team Leukemia since 1994. Filmed inside the University of Tampa. in Tampa, Florida.     Tony “Doc Dog” Baker - Becoming A Las Vegas & Tattoo Legend

    Tony “Doc Dog” Baker is a tattoo artist of 65+ years. Founder and owner of Las Vegas Tattoo Co. est. 1977. Learning to tattoo at the age of 13 while incarcerated in the California Youth Authority, Doc Dog’s entire life has been about tattooing. He opened the first tattoo shop in the San Fernando Valley in 1972. Wanting to move to Nevada, he helped the Nevada Health Department establish the first tattoo laws for the entire state. He opened Las Vegas Tattoo Co. on July, 13th 1977 and was the only tattoo shop in the city for 13 years. In 2000, Las Vegas Tattoo Co. moved to Longview, Texas and in 2003 to Ybor City, Florida where it has remained ever since. Doc has become a legend in the tattoo world befriending the likes of Bert Grimm, Philadelphia Eddy, Bob Shaw, Col. Todd, Zeke Owens, Cliff Raven and more. Doc has opened international locations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, London, England and Siegburg, Germany. This episode is in memory of Colt Baker 2/11/86 - 1/12/24.     Josh Weaver - Why Baseball Transcends Generations & Cultures

    Josh Weaver is the curator of the Tampa Baseball Museum. The Tampa Baseball Museum is housed in Hall of Famer Al Lopez’s childhood home. It is one of only four museums in the country that is a former Major League Baseball player’s house. Al Lopez was the first Major League Baseball player, manager and Hall of Famer from Hillsborough County. He played Major League Baseball for 19 seasons and managed for 18. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977. The Tampa Baseball Museum offers history and historical pieces from all of the teams that have played in Tampa and its baseball history since the late 1880’s.     John Montesi - Being A 1990's Professional Skateboarder

    John Montesi is a pro skateboarder and owner of Westside Skateshop. Learning to skate at age 13, John earned his first sponsorship with Exile at 16. He turned pro just three years later in 1992. Signing with New Deal, John quickly started touring the world at 19 years old. Touring five continents, John would perform demos across the world including at concerts and festivals like Lollapalooza and Big Day Out. John would release 28 pro skateboard models and be featured in several magazines including Thrasher, Skateboard!, Rad and Big Brother. He has owned Westside Skateshop since 1997 and sponsors a team of riders. In 2023 he was inducted into the Florida Skateboard Hall of Fame.     Tommy Jones is a basketball coach of 35+ years. He is currently the University of Tampa's women's basketball assistant coach. Starting his coaching career in 1991, Tommy has worked with athletes of all ages from primary school through college. He was the head women's basketball coach at the College of Central Florida in addition to time coaching at Hillsborough Community College. He spent 15 years also coaching track and field with numerous primary and high schools in Tampa Bay. Surfing since 1963, he started his career in surfboard repair at age 14. He went on to establish Western Flyers making skateboards and skimboards. In 1989, he established One World Surf Designs. Juan has established his name as one of the best surfboard finishers and fin makers in the world. Specializing in vintage fin making, Juan is possibly the only craftsman in the world still producing iconic surfboard fins. He has documented and archived over 400 fin designs.     Tommy Frank is the Executive Director of the Lake Wales Arts Council. A successful artist for over 20 years, Tommy is a master in pottery and ceramics. He completed his Bachelor’s in Fine Art from Asbury University before his residency at the St. Petersburg Clay Company (now Morean Center for Clay). He then was a resident at the Archie Bray Foundation and completed his post-baccalaureate program at the University of Florida. He received his Master’s of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
