Chizme Made Us Do It: A Christmas Special That Got Out of Hand

Zipolite, Fire Island, New York, Berlin- Where in the world are we? Well, folks, in this extremely festive and deeply irresponsible holiday episode of Trigger Warning, Adam and I strip it down- litereally and do what every life coach explicitly warns against: they hit record inside a bar in Zipolite, Mexico and let whatever happens… happen. Broadcasting live from the legendary Chizme —a bar that doubles as a confessional booth, group therapy circle, and occasional clothing‑optional community center— We  unpack our recent move to Mexico  But things derail fast. There are naked nights, stories that absolutely should’ve stayed off‑mic, and that special bar‑magic moment where everyone thinks they’re hilarious and somehow… they are. Amid the tequila fumes, the conversation swerves into animal rescue, ethical living, and how being a hot mess doesn’t automatically disqualify you from having a heart. Then—like a plot twist no one sober would’ve approved- and then ‘ a friend’ walks into the bar and straight into the podcast. What follows is a brave, awkward, horny‑adjacent, and genuinely vulnerable conversation about divorce, identity, masculinity, and stepping into the gay community for the first time. It’s funny. It’s raw. It’s the kind of honesty you only get from Trigger Warning and when there no clear exit strategy. From Fire Island dreams to gay dance floors, political side‑quests, conspiracy theories that absolutely did not need airtime, and holiday reflections about chosen family, this episode zigzags violently between nonsense and sincerity. Somehow it works. Probably because it’s real. This isn’t a polished holiday special.  It’s a Christmas with US! ⏰ Episode Breakdown (Time Is a Suggestion) 00:00 – We’re Here. Drag Queens, Burning Man & the Wildest Party Stories Ever Told: The Episode That Definitely Needs a Trigger Warning

Welcome back to Trigger Warning, the podcast for people who like their conversations the way we like our martinis: strong, unfiltered, and possibly a bad idea. This week, Adam and I return to bless your ears with another round of “Should we say this publicly?” and the answer is always a confident yes. We’re joined by the broadway icon, the legend, the PhDiva herself, Michelle Dowdy—who casually drops stories about playing Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray while I try not to combust from jealousy. We spiral from John Waters gossip to Michelle’s honorary doctorate (because apparently everyone but me gets one), and then straight into some truly feral stories from nightlife, including an adult party performance so vividly described it may haunt you. Michelle also spills about her upcoming wedding, theater gigs, and the glamorous struggle of dealing with straight men in musical theater. We touch on Drag Race, pageant villains, cabaret dreams, and my unhealthy attachment to British Bake Off contestants. Basically: it’s camp, it’s chaos, it’s Trigger Warning. Your timestamp survival map: • 00:00 — Welcome to the chaos  • 00:49 — Burning Man but make it unhinged  • 03:13 — Enter Dr. Michelle Dowdy, Beyoncé of Hairspray  • 03:30 — Michelle’s life as Tracy Turnblad  • 04:19 — John Waters lore we absolutely should not know  • 05:34 — Michelle’s doctorate and our collective jealousy  • 15:08 — Wedding bells and straight men behaving suspiciously  • 20:38 — Drag Race, gay culture, drama: the holy trinity  • 24:38 — Pageant divas and their villain origin stories  • 25:20 — Bianca’s beauty tips you cannot trust • 26:22 — Straight men in musical theater: a sociological study • 28:01 — Starstruck meltdowns and cabaret fever dreams • 29:17 — Trash TV appreciation hour • 30:53 — New Orleans, chaos, and the world’s wildest performance • 38:22 — Trigger warnings and manners (who are we?) • 48:10 — Goodbyes and questionable wisdom @triggerwaringnyc @redeye_ny @pridehousemedia Write to us at: Questions@TriggerWarningPod.com

The Dark, Dirty, Fabulous Side of Nightlife: Our Conversation with the Legendary Johnny Dynell

Okay queens, buckle up—this episode is basically our chaotic nightlife scrapbook come to life. Adam and I are dragging you from the techno dungeons of Berlin all the way to Fire Island, with plenty of glitter, weirdos, and questionable decisions in between. We’re talking festivals filled with chaos, concerts I had very strong feelings about, and memories that honestly might explain a lot about who Adam and I are today. And THEN—DJ Johnny Dynell strolls in like the nightlife historian we never deserved but desperately needed. This man is a LEGEND and does he have stories. Jackie 60 secrets. Police encounters. Celebrity parties. Elton John’s Oscar after‑party. At one point we even detour into a farm tale involving rattlesnakes and pigs, and honestly… that’s the kind of range I bring to podcasting. If you love queer nightlife, legendary club history, or just hearing us get overly excited about our crazy antics, this episode is for you. It’s messy, it’s nostalgic, it’s fabulous. Storm Large Breaks Every Rule and We LOVE It!

Buckle up, because this week’s episode is pure Storm Large energy — loud, honest, messy, hilarious, and somehow heart‑melting all at once. Storm, known for tearing up stages with Pink Martini, rocking out on Rockstar Supernova, and unapologetically being herself everywhere from America’s Got Talent to the pages of fetish catalogs, joins us for a conversation that goes everywhere. We talk music, sex, politics, art, grief, joy, and the deep spiritual importance of rescuing tiny creatures with ridiculous faces. Storm spills all about the state of live music post‑COVID, why physical presence still matters, her iconic Clone‑A‑Willie modeling experience, and the wild stories behind her activism. There’s also a “Bella Ciao” remix, a Patti LuPone moment, and more than a few chaotic detours. It’s raw, it’s funny, it’s tender, it’s unfiltered — in other words, quintessential Trigger Warning. 00:00 Introduction and Guest Welcome  00:27 Storm Large's Background and Career Highlights  01:48 COVID-19 Impact on Performances  03:00 The Importance of Physical Presence  06:58 Clone-A-Willie Modeling Experience  13:58 Reflections on Music and Service  18:45 Discussing the Rider  20:00 Pet Adoption and Volunteering  22:44 Stray Pride Event  23:57 Animal Activism and Fundraising  25:49 Triggers and Pet Peeves  34:49 Patti LuPone Controversy  36:16 Dating and Relationships  37:39 Conclusion and Farewell Click to hear  the remix of Bella Ciao by Johnny Dynell and Storm Larger @triggerwaringnyc @redeye_ny @pridehousemedia Write to us at: Questions@TriggerWarningPod.com

Explosions, AI and Broadway Dreams: A Conversation with Brian J. Smith

This week on Trigger Warning, Daniel and Adam are in fine form are in rare form — over‑caffeinated, mildly chaotic, and yes, pushing all the usual buttons (wouldn’t have it any other way). They’re joined by the phenomenal Brian J. Smith — you know, from Sense8, Stargate, and Matrix 4 — who somehow stays classy while they spiral into rants about fame, fandom, and what it’s like to share the spotlight with our soon‑to‑be AI overlords. Brian lets us in on filming Vought Rising — the The Boys prequel everyone’s buzzing about — complete with explosions, egos, and a healthy dose of existential dread. They also get into the emotional side of working through COVID’s strange, soul‑sucking years, the highs and lows of Broadway life, and why staying creative when the world’s on fire sometimes feels like the only option. Naturally, Adam and Daniel go completely off‑script (shocking, I know). There are Juilliard stories, a few strong opinions about AI stealing monologues, and their trademark chaos in between the deep stuff. But somehow, amid the tech glitches, heartfelt confessions, and uncontrollable laughter, it turns into what Trigger Warning always aims to be — a messy, brutally honest, weirdly uplifting conversation about being human in the middle of all this madness. So yeah — buckle up, plug in, and get ready for some unfiltered brilliance with Brian J. Smith. You’ve officially been warned. 00:00 – Welcome to chaos: technical issues & caffeinated hosts  00:49 – First broadcast energy  01:19 – Enter Brian J. Mic Drop Moments From Maulik Pancholy: Identity, Inclusion, and Industry Nonsense

Welcome to another gloriously unfiltered episode of the Trigger Warning podcast — where hosts Daniel Nardicio and Adam Klesh say all the things we are just thinking, out loud and what is really fun is they ask the questions your PR rep would probably beg you not to. This week, they’re joined by actor, author, and all-around great guy Maulik Pancholy, a man whose résumé casually includes 30 Rock, Weeds, and, yes, the voice of Baljeet from Phineas and Ferb. The trio dives into the beautiful chaos of life in showbiz — from being a brown, gay actor navigating Hollywood’s nonsense, to Maulik’s killer new Audible series Murder at the Patel Motel (come for the mystery, stay for the mischief). As always with these guys there is a lot of laughter, some oversharing, and just enough existential reflection to justify calling this a “deep” episode. Daniel and Adam also unpack their own triggers (spoiler: people who don’t use turn signals may be involved) and get real about what representation and inclusivity actually look like in 2025. Basically, it’s a smart, spicy, slightly unhinged conversation you don’t want to miss. 00:00 Introduction to Trigger Warning Podcast 00:47 Casual Banter and Personal Stories 01:58 Guest Introduction: Maulik Pancholi 02:34 Maulik Pancholi's Career Highlights 03:46 Discussion on Writing and Books 14:02 The Patel Motel Cartel 18:11 Nostalgia and Reflections on Ohio 22:13 Exciting Launch of Patel Motel 22:37 Star-Studded Cast and Crew 23:40 Voiceover Career and Success 24:20 Challenges of Being an Indian American Actor 27:15 Navigating Identity and Career 27:56 Empowering Stories and Representation 31:40 Handling Controversy with Grace 36:14 Trigger Warning: Pet Peeves 43:08 Gifts and Goodbyes Listen to Murder at the Patel Motel today!
