Locktober means chastity cages, keyholders, denial, teasing, frustration, and 31 days without release. But does choosing to lock yourself for October actually make it an act of submission? In Episode 42 of Power Unleashed, Professor Vesper examines the difference between chastity as a kink and chastity as surrender within a real power exchange dynamic. If the submissive chooses the challenge, determines its duration, expects release at the end, and finds a keyholder to provide the experience he already wants, who is actually in control? For me, chastity has never fundamentally been about the cage or the length of denial. It is about surrendering control over your sexual life to another person. A Domme may deny her submissive for weeks or give him frequent permission. The relevant question remains the same: who gets to decide? Locktober can absolutely become part of a D/s dynamic. But putting yourself in chastity for 31 days does not automatically turn kink into submission.
