Not just physically tired, but tired in your soul. Tired of trying another diet, another plan, another promise that seems to work for a little while, only to end up right back where you started. In today’s episode of Living Life Unbinged, we’re talking about a truth that can change everything: failing a diet does not make you a failure. For so many women, the struggle isn’t a lack of willpower. It’s that the deeper emotional and spiritual roots of the struggle were never addressed. Food plans can tell us what to eat, but they rarely help us understand what’s driving the cravings in the first place. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: Why repeatedly struggling with food doesn’t mean you’ve failedThe difference between a failed diet and a failed personWhat many weight loss plans are missingHow emotional and spiritual struggles can fuel food battlesWhy awareness is the first step toward lasting freedomA simple exercise to help uncover what’s been holding you backHow to find hope when you’re tired of starting overAnchored in Isaiah 40:31, this episode reminds us that true strength doesn’t come from trying harder, it comes from placing our hope in the Lord. 🩷 If you’ve been wondering whether lasting freedom is possible, this episode offers a different perspective: maybe you don’t need another diet. Maybe you need the missing piece. Because your breakthrough isn’t necessarily behind you. It may be right in front of you. Make it a great day! In today’s episode of Living Life Unbinged, I’m sharing a simple moment at my son’s football game that completely changed the way I think about food, rewards, and the word treat itself. For years, like most families, we used the word “treat” to describe candy, ice cream, or sweets after events and activities. But during one ordinary night sitting in the bleachers with my husband and kids, I realized something powerful: The candy wasn’t the real treat. The moment already was  The laughter. The family time. The beautiful evening. The gift of being together. That was the treat.  In this episode, you’ll learn: How language shapes our relationship with foodWhy we often connect rewards and comfort to sweetsA simple mindset shift that changes how you view “treats”How reframing words can help break unhealthy food patternsWhy gratitude helps loosen food’s emotional powerHow to teach children a healthier perspective around food and rewardsThis episode is a gentle reminder that the best parts of life were never meant to come from sugar or snacks, they come from the gifts God has already placed around us every single day. In today’s episode of Living Life Unbinged, we’re talking about something that often gets overlooked in healing from sugar addiction, emotional eating, and food struggles: community. Yes, habits matter. Food boundaries matter. Daily disciplines matter. But they were never meant to carry the weight of transformation on their own. Because real, lasting freedom isn’t just about what you do, it’s about who you walk with. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why freedom in Christ still requires daily choices and supportThe difference between helpful habits and what actually fills you upHow isolation keeps you stuck (and why the enemy uses it)Why community is essential for lasting freedom, not optionalHow the people around you shape your thoughts, habits, and identityThe three roles every healthy community needs: mentor, peer, and supportSimple ways to step out of silence and into connection and accountabilityAnchored in Galatians 5:1 and Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, this episode is a reminder that Jesus set you free, but you’re not meant to walk that freedom out alone. Isolation feeds shame. But connection brings healing, truth, and strength If you’ve been trying to “do better” by yourself, this is your invitation to do something different: walk with others who are pursuing freedom too. When God DOESN'T Remove the Thorn

And after a while you start wondering: Why hasn’t God removed this yet? In this episode of Living Life Unbinged, we explore one of the most powerful passages in Scripture about weakness and God’s strength, the story of the Apostle Paul’s “thorn in the flesh.” ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: What Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” teaches us about sufferingWhy God sometimes says no to prayers asking for reliefThe surprising way God’s power shows up in weaknessHow struggles with food, anxiety, or personal pain can draw us closer to GodWhy dependence on God produces a different kind of strength than the world offersHow God’s grace sustains us even when circumstances don’t changeWhen Paul pleaded with God to remove his thorn, the answer he received wasn’t the one he expected. Instead, God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” That response completely changed Paul’s perspective. Instead of seeing weakness as something to escape, he began to understand that his struggle was actually creating deeper dependence on God, and that’s where real strength was found. The world celebrates independence, discipline, and self-sufficiency. But the gospel teaches something very different: true strength comes from relying fully on Christ. And sometimes the very thing we want removed becomes the place where God’s grace shines the brightest 💕 Reflection question: Is there a thorn in your life that you’ve been asking God to remove? “We don't say God in recovery”… WHAT?

Twenty years ago, while struggling with overeating, emotional eating, and constant sugar cravings, I decided to attend a meeting with Overeaters Anonymous because I was desperate to find freedom. At the time, something surprising had already started happening. After removing processed sugar and flour, the cravings were finally beginning to calm down. For the first time in years, my mind felt clearer and I was starting to feel hopeful. But during one of those meetings, something happened that I’ve never forgotten. While sharing about what I was experiencing, I mentioned God, and the reaction in the room was immediate. Someone gently explained that they preferred the term “higher power.” Members were encouraged to choose anything they wanted as their higher power so that no one would feel uncomfortable with religious language. That moment forced me to think deeply about where true transformation actually comes from. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: The difference between a vague “higher power” and a personal relationship with Jesus ChristWhy many food struggles go deeper than physical habitsHow emotional and spiritual hunger can drive overeating and sugar cravingsWhy behavior change alone often isn’t enough for lasting freedomHow surrendering struggles to God leads to real transformationWhy faith can play a powerful role in healing your relationship with foodRecovery programs can offer helpful structure, community, and accountability. But for me, the freedom I was experiencing wasn’t coming from a concept or a program, it was coming from Christ. Because food addiction isn’t just physical. It’s often connected to the places in our hearts where we look for comfort, control, or relief. And when I brought those struggles honestly before God, something powerful started happening. Grace met me there. Healing began. And real freedom became possible 🩷 Reflection question: When it comes to your struggles with food, who is your higher power, something vague, or the living God who loves you and has the power to set you free? 90 Days of Silence Is Not the Answer

If you’ve ever struggled with food addiction, emotional eating, or eating “off plan,” you know how quickly shame can creep in. And often, that shame makes people want to hide. In this episode of Living Life Unbinged, we explore a rule used in some food addiction recovery groups where members who slip with food are not allowed to speak in meetings for 90 days. While the intention behind the rule is accountability and structure, it raises an important question: Is silence really what someone needs most when they’re already struggling? ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: Why shame thrives in silence but healing begins in the lightThe difference between accountability and shame in recoveryWhy community matters most after a setback with food or sugarHow secrecy can deepen food addiction strugglesWhat the Bible teaches about confession, restoration, and graceWhy grace (not perfection) creates lasting freedomScripture consistently shows that when we stumble, God does not push us away. Instead, He invites us to come to Him immediately. When we bring our struggles into the light, with God and with trusted community, shame loses its power and healing can begin 💕 That doesn’t mean boundaries or structure don’t matter. They absolutely do. But true Christian recovery works best when accountability is paired with grace, not isolation. Freedom isn’t built on perfect behavior. It’s built on honesty, repentance, and continually turning back to Christ. So today’s reflection question is this: When you stumble, do you move toward grace… or do you hide in shame? The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength (And Why It Breaks Sugar Cravings)

If you’ve ever tried to overcome food cravings or sugar addiction through pure discipline, only to feel exhausted and discouraged, this episode offers a powerful perspective shift. In today’s episode of Living Life Unbinged, we unpack a familiar verse that many people quote but rarely pause to truly understand: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” This conversation explores what that verse actually means and why lasting change doesn’t come from more willpower, but from a deeper source of strength. Because the verse isn’t saying that our own joy makes us strong. It’s saying that God’s joy is what strengthens us. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: What the verse “the joy of the Lord is your strength” really meansWhy discipline alone eventually leads to exhaustionHow emotional and spiritual emptiness can drive food strugglesWhy our hearts search for comfort when joy feels absentHow delighting in God weakens the pull of old cravingsThe difference between temporary comfort and lasting spiritual strengthWhen our hearts are disconnected from God’s joy, we often look for relief in food, sugar, busyness, or distractions. But when we spend time in God’s presence and remember His grace, something begins to shift. The cravings that once felt overwhelming slowly lose their power, because our hearts are finally being filled by the One they were designed for 💕 Discipline and boundaries still matter, but they work best when they’re supported by something deeper: joy rooted in Christ. So today’s question is simple but powerful: Are you trying to fight your food struggles with discipline… when what your heart truly needs is the joy of the Lord?
