    Cravings Are Like Seagulls

In this episode, I'm sharing a simple story from a day at the beach that I believe is a good metaphor for cravings. As my family sat down to eat, a group of seagulls became increasingly loud and aggressive, constantly trying to get our food. But when we refused to feed them, something interesting happened: eventually, they quieted down and flew away. Cravings can work the same way. The more we feed them, the louder and more persistent they can become. But when we learn to pause, wait, and let the craving pass instead of immediately giving in, we can discover that the intensity doesn't last forever. If you're struggling with sugar cravings, food obsession, or feeling like you have to satisfy every urge to eat, this episode will encourage you to try something different. The next time a craving feels loud and overwhelming, don't automatically feed it. Give yourself a few minutes. Let the feeling rise, settle, and pass. You may be surprised by how quickly the craving loses its power.  In This Episode: ✨ Why cravings can feel loud, urgent, and impossible to ignore ✨ What seagulls taught me about food cravings ✨ Why giving in can reinforce the cycle of cravings ✨ How to practice pausing instead of immediately responding ✨ A simple 2–3 minute strategy for riding out a craving ✨ Why you don't have to obey every craving you experience Make it a great day! Your kids ask for fast food every Friday night. You sit down to a family dinner and the food you're trying to avoid is sitting right there in the middle of the table. And you're doing this alone. In today's episode of Living Life Unbinged, we're getting real about something that so many women face but rarely talk about: what happens when you're the only one in your family on this journey. When your conviction is strong, but everyone around you is on a completely different page. Here's what I learned the hard way: I cannot wait for everyone around me to get on board before I take care of myself. That day may never come. And your health, your responsibility to steward the body God gave you, can't be held hostage by someone else's choices. That's not selfish. That's obedience. But it also doesn't mean isolation or turning every family meal into a battle. It means getting creative, setting boundaries, and protecting your space without shaming anyone else. ✨ In this episode, you'll learn: Why feeling alone in your journey is so common (and so valid)The difference between waiting for support and being responsible for yourselfHow to set boundaries without isolationWhy guilt and resentment often lead straight to foodWhat it looks like to feed your family what they love while honoring your own choicesSimple modifications that work for everyone at the tableHow your own transformation might become an invitation for others laterOne practical boundary you can set this week to protect your journeyAnchored in Romans 14:12, "Each of us will give an account of ourselves to God", not an account of what your spouse ate or what was available at dinner. Your own account. That responsibility is yours to steward, and you are worthy and deserving of protecting that space. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for your family is take care of yourself. 🩷 Make it a great day! You're eating better, you're trying to move, you're doing the things, but your body still isn't cooperating. In today's episode of Living Life Unbinged, we're talking about something that affects so many women and is rarely discussed: what happens when your hormones are writing a completely different story than your meal plan. For years, certain approaches worked for you. You'd see results. But suddenly? It feels like you're pushing a rock uphill. You're frustrated, confused, maybe even a little betrayed by your own body. And here's what you might not realize: nothing is wrong with you. Your hormones are simply trying to communicate. Estrogen, progesterone, insulin, cortisol, thyroid, they're all in constant conversation with each other. And when one of them gets out of balance, the ripple effect touches everything: cravings spike, belly fat increases, sleep suffers, and willpower alone can't override what your body is telling you. It's not a discipline problem. It's biology. ✨ In this episode, you'll learn: Why your body suddenly stopped responding to what used to workThe powerful impact hormones have on cravings, weight, mood, and metabolismWhy low estrogen can tank your mood and skyrocket carb cravingsHow blood sugar spikes and crashes drive afternoon cravingsWhy "pushing through" harder isn't the answerThe connection between poor sleep and hormonal chaosHow to move from fighting your body to listening to itA practical first step: protein at every meal for blood sugar stabilityAnchored in Psalm 139:14, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Your body isn't your enemy, it's a masterpiece designed by God Himself. And when it's struggling, the answer isn't to push harder. It's to get curious about what it needs. Make it a great day! The "I Will Start Monday" Lie

In today's episode of Living Life Unbinged, we're calling out one of the sneakiest lies we tell ourselves, the promise of a fresh start that never seems to come. Thursday afternoon hits, you've made some choices you weren't proud of, and suddenly the entire week feels like a write-off. So you decide: Monday will be different. You'll have the groceries, the plan, the perfect mindset. But we both know what happens by Wednesday. Here's the truth: that "I'll start Monday" promise isn't hope. It's permission to keep doing what you know isn't serving you. Every time you say it, you reinforce the belief that change requires perfect conditions, a new week, a clean slate, the magic of Monday. But God's mercies don't work on a seven-day reset schedule. ✨ In this episode, you'll learn: Why "I'll start Monday" is a form of self-sabotage, not self-compassionHow all-or-nothing thinking keeps you stuck in cyclesThe truth about God's mercies being new every morning (not just every Monday)Why perfect streaks aren't how healing actually happensWhat the "next bite reset" is and how to use itHow to notice the "I'll start later" pattern without judgmentWhy your fresh start is available right now, in this very momentAnchored in Lamentations 3:22-23, this episode reminds us that His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, and every moment. Not Monday, not tomorrow, but now. Your breakthrough isn't waiting for a calendar change. It's waiting for you to say yes to the next bite, the next choice, the next moment. 🩷 Make it a great day!
