EP 22: Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda & Living in Balance with Key Reteff

This episode is a wild ride and I genuinely learned so much. I've been naturally leaning into so many of these practices over the past while - warm drinks, steamed veggies, no more cold smoothies - without any real education behind it. So getting to sit down with Key, an expert in both Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, felt like such a divine download of validation and knowledge all at once. Key's own path here is wild. A 14 foot fall during his time in the military that he fully accepted death through, years of numbing out through drugs, a sobriety journey that led him to feel everything he'd suppressed his whole life, and an ayahuasca ceremony where he pulled an oracle card that said "healer" and knew instantly that was his path. We get into the fundamentals of yin and yang, the five element theory, why Chinese medicine treats the whole person rather than the disease, what your tongue and your eyes can reveal about your organs, moxibustion and why it's considered equal to acupuncture in China, the Chinese medicine organ clock, why eating late at night is wrecking your sleep and your liver, glucose spikes and why dessert should come after your meal not before, spleen qi deficiency (more common than you'd think), Ayurvedic self-massage and sensory rituals, and why going inward - through stillness, dark rooms, or simply sitting with discomfort - might be the most powerful medicine there is. This one is packed with practical, simple shifts you can start making today, alongside some genuinely profound wisdom on healing, emotions and finding out who you actually are underneath all the conditioning. EP 21: Detox the Right Way: Minerals, Metals & Microplastics with Eva Hooft

Recorded live from the deck at Maestro Valley Retreat - so if you hear nature sounds, the odd firework, or someone wandering past, that's just part of the magic of this one. I met Ava here on retreat and the moment she started talking about what she does, I knew I had to get her on the podcast immediately. Eva is a holistic detox coach who blends mineral balancing, nervous system work, somatics and detoxification - and honestly, this conversation answered questions I didn't even know I had. Eva's own story starts in childhood - food intolerances, chronic CMV, years of being bedridden, gut issues that never seemed to stop. Like so many of us, she tried every diet, every supplement, before finally discovering detoxification and mineral balancing changed everything for her. We get into the backpack of rocks analogy (you're going to want to write this one down), terrain theory and why your body isn't broken - it's adapting, what your hair can actually reveal about your mineral levels that blood tests can't, the connection between copper, estrogen dominance and anxiety, why taking iron supplements often makes iron deficiency worse, the truth about polyester, perfume and the microplastics already in your brain and placenta, why certain heavy metal detox trends going around social media can actually be dangerous, and why chronic viral outbreaks like herpes are far more common - and far less scary - than you've been led to believe. This episode is packed with knowledge bombs from start to finish. If you've ever felt like you're doing everything right and still not feeling your best, this one's for you.  Find Eva on Instagram @eva.hooft  If you're curious about exploring detoxification and hair mineral analysis - use this link to start a conversation with Eva and her team: https://app.iclosed.io/e/realignmentmethod/realignment-call-new-elly-miles This episode is for educational and informational purposes only and isn't a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. EP 20: The Brave Thing ft. Patrick Guiney

Fair warning - this episode is as fun as it is deep. Patrick Guiney is one of those people that makes you laugh without even trying, and somehow also says things that stop you in your tracks. He's been one of my favourite humans in Santa Teresa since the moment I met him outside a coffee shop, and I'm so glad we finally sat down to record this. Patrick grew up in Dublin, built a career in corporate tech, got married, ticked all the boxes - and still felt like something was deeply off. It wasn't until his ten year marriage ended and he made the terrifying decision to leave his nine to five that things started to shift. And then somehow, a one way ticket to Costa Rica later, he accidentally built one of the most beautiful community platforms I've seen - Nomads - which now has 500 members and 50 events across Santa Teresa. We talk about what it actually feels like to live in the middle - that limbo phase where you've got everything on paper but nothing feels right - and what it took for Patrick to finally start listening to himself. We get into people pleasing, therapy, journaling, the law of attraction, how the universe literally played the theme song of his podcast through a speaker at the beach to let him know he was on the right path, and why he named his podcast Saturdays - because Saturday was the one day the real Patrick was allowed to show up. This one's warm, funny, honest and full of those little nuggets that land when you need them most.  Go find Patrick and Saturdays. https://www.instagram.com/patrickguiney1?igsh=b3lpczA0M2RzbDRj https://open.spotify.com/show/4Pn7YeLBdmYlXVAGTmPrTL?si=b41a8092b6b34df7

EP 16: A Conversation About Addiction, Sobriety & Self-Love with Graham Weiner

If you've been around here for a while, you know I don't do surface-level conversations. And this one with Graham? Absolutely no exception. Graham is genuinely one of my favourite humans in Santa Teresa - the vibiest man I know, and somehow always the best dressed person in the room. But beyond the pink linen and pearls is someone who has done serious work on himself, and this conversation is a beautiful reflection of that. Graham opens up about his journey with addiction - from smoking weed at 12 to fit in, through years of hard drugs, all the way to an intervention at 33 and three and a half years of sobriety. He talks about what it actually felt like to wake up in rehab and think this is exactly what I needed, how substances were quietly keeping him disconnected from himself and everyone around him, and what the word self-loathing really means when you're too happy-go-lucky to even realise it's happening. We also get into the spiritual side of sobriety, the five realms of health, what it means to stay neutral rather than just chasing happiness, and the core wound that came up for Graham during an NLP and ECT session we did together - I'm good enough - and what's shifted for him since. This one isn't just for people in recovery. It's for anyone who's ever used something - a drink, a relationship, a scroll through their phone - to avoid feeling what's actually there. It's a gentle, honest, and genuinely beautiful conversation about coming home to yourself. Find Graham on instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/la.pantera.rosa.real?igsh=MzJrMm9uenR1OHN1

EP 15: "Everything Was 'Perfect' On Paper" with Anna Bucklar

I met Anna on a sweaty beach club dance floor in Santa Teresa, and I knew immediately she was my kind of person. We bumped into each other again at the gym, grabbed a smoothie, and honestly - the rest is history. Our convos are always deep, always real, and this one is no different. Anna had it all on paper. A thriving wedding photography business with international clients, a marriage, a dream apartment, a life that looked incredible from the outside. And yet, something was off. That little niggle beneath the surface that whispered there's more - she kept trying to bury it. Until she couldn't anymore. In this episode, Anna shares the raw, honest story of walking away from her marriage, her business, and the life everyone expected her to live - and jumping into full-time solo travel with no plan, no end date, and a whole lot of faith. What followed was one of the most profound journeys of self-discovery, healing, and learning to actually be with herself. We get into: the moment she hit rock bottom, the self-destructive patterns she used to cope, how a random Brazilian man in a foreign country accidentally cracked her open, healing her eating disorder through solo travel, the power of sisterhood, and why being alone might be the greatest gift you ever give yourself. We also talk about how to read the clues your life is giving you, how your triggers and patterns are always trying to tell you something, and what it actually looks like to lean into fear instead of running from it. This one's for anyone who's living a life that looks great on paper but feels a little hollow on the inside. The invisible thread is real, sis - and it's always leading you somewhere worth going.  Find Anna on IG here: https://www.instagram.com/goingannawhere/
