Episode 27 - REPLAY EP. 22-5 Things I Wish I Knew as a New Widow

Episode 27 - Replay of % things I wish I knew as a new widow: Hey y’all! Welcome Welcome! I'm so glad you are here with me again today, Tuesday, September 22. Well… I have to be honest with y’all. I was busy! 😂 I’ve been working on some new projects behind the scenes, and somehow, between working on all of that and just living life, time got away from me! So, rather than leave you hanging this week, I thought, “Why not go back and revisit one of the episodes that y’all really loved?” I’ve had some really popular episodes here on Grief Relief, but the one that really stood out was Episode 22: 5 Things I Wish I Knew About Being a New Widow. And honestly, I think there’s a reason this one resonated with so many of you. Whether you’re a brand-new widow, you’re a few years into your grief, or you’re walking alongside someone who is, there are just some things you wish somebody had told you from the beginning. So this week, we’re going to take a little trip back and replay Episode 22. So sit back, get comfortable, grab your coffee—or your glass of wine if that’s your thing—and enjoy this replay of 5 Things I Wish I Knew About Being a New Widow. And as always, thank you for being part of the Grief Relief community. I’m so grateful for every one of you. ❤️ Website: mygriefrelief.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100071032952696 Email:  patty@mygriefrelief.com

Ep 25 - Grief & 9/11: Remembering While We Keep Living

Some dates are more than just dates on a calendar. They carry memories, emotions, people, and moments we will never forget. September 11th is one of those dates. In this episode of Grief Relief for Christian Women, Patty talks about the connection between grief, 9/11, and the unexpected ways certain seasons, holidays, and anniversaries can bring memories of loss rushing back. For many of us, we can still remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news on September 11, 2001. But when you're already grieving someone you love, remembering a national tragedy can sometimes stir up your own personal grief. Patty shares a very personal part of her story about Ralph, her husband, who was a songwriter at heart. After 9/11, Ralph was so deeply moved by what happened that he wrote and recorded a song. For Patty, 9/11 became more than a moment in history—it became another memory forever connected to Ralph. In this episode, we talk about: Why certain dates and seasons can trigger grief The connection between collective grief and personal loss Why remembering doesn't mean you're going backward How holidays and special occasions can highlight the person who's missing Giving yourself permission to experience both sadness and joy How faith can help us remember while continuing to live Why you don't have to feel guilty for laughing, enjoying life, or making new memories How to honor the people we've lost while still embracing the life God has given us Most importantly, Patty reminds you that you can remember and still keep living. You can miss them and still laugh. You can honor their memory and still make plans for tomorrow. You can carry the love and the loss together. Grief doesn't mean the end of your story. And remembering doesn't mean you're stuck in the past. There is still life ahead of you. There is still joy ahead of you. And God is not finished with your story. Grief Relief Challenge This week's challenge is simple: Remember. Honor. Live. Think about the person you've lost. Write down one thing you miss, one thing you're grateful for, and one thing you're going to allow yourself to enjoy this week—without guilt. Because you can remember them... and still live. Scriptures : Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." and Psalm 30:5: "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."
