Uncomfortable On Purpose

Marj Kupps

I'm Marj Kupps, and this podcast explores womanhood, growth, ambition, wellness, and the uncomfortable process of becoming who you're meant to be. Each week, we dive into conversations that go beyond a 60-second reel, from friendships, family, and relationships to success, identity, money, purpose, and the pressure to have it all figured out. Think of this as a cup of tea with a friend and an invitation to question what you've been taught, what you've outgrown, and who you're becoming. Growth isn't always comfortable, and the most important conversations often aren't either.

I Act Like I'm Rich (But It's Not What You Think)

In this episode, I’m talking about something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately: the power of allowing yourself to experience pieces of your dream life before you’ve fully arrived. My husband and I live in an area I’ve always dreamed of living in, even though we’re not in our dream home yet. And driving the Jetour Dashing has made the life I’m working towards feel a little more tangible. It’s made me feel closer to the woman I’ve always envisioned becoming. I’ve come to believe that sometimes, you need to put yourself in environments that remind you of what’s possible. Go to that beautiful hotel in the neighbourhood you dream of living in. Order a coffee if that’s what your budget allows. Experience the atmosphere. Let yourself imagine a different kind of life. You don’t have to afford the entire menu to belong in the room. And no, I’m not telling you to go into debt, live recklessly, or pretend to have money you don’t have. I’m talking about being intentional about the life you’re building, making the most of what you can afford today, and refusing to believe that your current circumstances are the limit of what your life can become. Because sometimes, experiencing a small piece of the life you want is what helps you believe that it’s possible for you, too. In this episode, we talk about: Why you shouldn’t always wait until you’ve “made it” to enjoy your lifeHow your environment can influence your identity, mindset and aspirationsThe difference between living beyond your means and intentionally expanding your worldWhy experiencing the life you want can make your dreams feel more attainableBecoming your dream self before you have your dream life Your dream life doesn’t have to begin the day you finally achieve everything on your vision board. You can start building it, experiencing it and becoming the woman who lives it right now. Let’s talk in the comments. 🤎 — A little transparency: I’m currently partnered with Jetour South Africa, and the Jetour Dashing featured in this video is part of that existing partnership. This episode was independently created and is not a contracted campaign deliverable. #SelfDevelopment #PersonalGrowth #DreamLife

Can You Still Have Sleepovers, Single Friends & Opposite-Sex Friends When Married?

In this episode, my husband and I sit down for an honest conversation about friendship, marriage, boundaries, and what happens when two people don’t see eye to eye on what is appropriate in a relationship. We discuss whether married people should have friends of the opposite sex, whether it’s okay to maintain close friendships with single people when you’re married, and whether you should still be having sleepovers at your friends’ houses after getting married. We also get into what happens when you don’t like your partner’s friends, whether your spouse should have a say in who you’re friends with, and how to balance individuality with commitment. We don’t agree on everything, and that’s exactly what makes this conversation interesting. 😂 In this episode, we discuss: What happens when you don’t like your partner’s friendsHaving friends of the opposite sex when you’re marriedWhether married people should have single friendsSleepovers with friends after marriageBoundaries, trust, and respect in relationshipsHow much should marriage change your friendships? Now we want to hear from you: Do you think your partner’s friends can be a red flag? And should your spouse have a say in the friendships you maintain? Drop your thoughts in the comments. We want to hear both sides of this conversation! Subscribe for more honest conversations about marriage, relationships, personal growth, and becoming.
