Honoring Diverse Birth Experiences, Generational Healing Through Birth, and Cultivating a Peaceful Presence in the Birth Space with @monetnicolebirths

I had the honor of sitting down with Monet Nicole, a birth photographer, doula, mother, and founder of Birth Becomes You. In this episode, Monet offers such a grounded perspective on honoring diverse birth experiences, generational healing through birth, and how to cultivate a peaceful presence in the birth space. Monet shares so much wisdom from years of walking into birth rooms with compassion and deep respect for every family’s story. We talked about the sacredness of birth, the importance of trusting women’s instincts, the power of authentic birth documentation, and how a calm presence can truly shift the atmosphere in the room. This conversation is such a reminder that birth is not one-size-fits-all. Every story matters. Every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, respected, and honored in her experience. Monet was also my birth photographer for my twins’ home birth, which made this conversation feel extra special. She captured one of the most sacred and unforgettable days of my life with so much reverence, peace, and care. EP 11 | What Every Father Should Know About Home Birth: A Father’s Perspective on Supporting Home Birth, Questioning the System, and Trusting the Birth Process.

We’re bringing a dad’s voice into the birth conversation. We had Jacob Dubois, husband, father, home birth advocate, and author of “Why Home Birth” to talk about how dads can move from fear and skepticism into understanding the process of birth and ultimately trusting in their wife’s INTUITION and her ability to birth. We talk about his wife’s two births, trusting the mom’s intuition, the cascade of interventions, birth education, and bringing dads into the birth space. Because when a dad is educated in physiological birth, grounded, and believes in HER ability to birth… it can make a GENERATIONAL impact! Connect with Jacob:  Buy his book : Why Homebirth  Jacob Dubois is a Christian, a devoted husband to wife Madison, and a proud father to two young sons (ages 2 and 5 months). As @apogee.dad on Instagram, he shares authentic content centered around faith, fatherhood, and awakening perspectives on topics like birth and parenting. EP 10| How to Have an Unmedicated Birth in the Hospital with @fiercelizzie Navigating Hospital Routines While Supporting Physiological Birth.

Since around 98% of moms in the U.S. give birth in the hospital, this episode is especially for the mama who wants an UNMEDICATED HOSPITAL BIRTH. Lizzie shares how to prepare for birth with more confidence and ownership, not just making a birth plan, but actually knowing how to advocate for it.  Birth can absolutely require surrender, but that doesn’t mean walking in unprepared. Lizzie reminds us that the more you understand your body, your options, and the hospital system, the more confident you can feel when labor gets intense. We talk support-person scripts, what is better than a birth plan, highlighting how it’s important to know how every intervention, understanding your options when pressure starts and how to create a more physiological birth experience in a hospital setting. Such an EMPOWERING conversation for moms who want to walk into birth INFORMED and not blindsided by the hospital or their provider.  Connect with Lizzie: Follow her two accounts on instagram @fiercelizzie @theunmedicatedgirlies Unmedicated girlies birth prep class  Lizzie Bolliger is a mom-first founder, homeschool mom, and the creator of Unmedicated Academy, a childbirth education program redefining what a “birth class” can be. EP 3| Redefining “High Risk” with Twins + Empowering Moms to Advocate for Their Birth | What Ultimately Led Victoria to Her Twin Home Birth.

If you’re a twin mama or want to set yourself up for an empowering birth experience, this one’s for you! In episode 3, Dr. Stu reflects on his shift from a medicalized model of birth to supporting informed, physiological birth. Victoria shares parts of her story of what led her to having a twin home birth. Dr. Stu explains research on twin pregnancy, hospital birth in the OR vs. twin home birth, and what it really means when a pregnancy is labeled “high risk.” They discuss why it’s so important for women to feel confident asking questions and advocating for their care and birth choices. Dr. Stu touches on how twin growth is often misinterpreted using singleton charts, how a more supportive, physiology-centered model can improve outcomes, and the vital role midwives play in supporting and normalizing twin birth. He covers the financial side of care, including paying out of pocket for a midwife, using a cost-sharing program, and leveraging an HSA instead of traditional insurance and why planning ahead financially for birth truly matters.  This episode is especially POWERFUL for twin moms… but truly for any mom who wants to feel CONFIDENT, INFORMED, and in charge of her birth choices. About Dr. Stuart Fischbein:  Dr. Stu is a board-certified OB/GYN who practiced in Southern California for over 36 years, known for supporting informed, physiological birth and collaborating closely with midwives. He co-hosts the Birthing Instincts podcast and now travels internationally teaching birth workers through his Reteach Breech workshops.
