    F*****g around and finding out

    We had a conversation with Robbi Hall Kumalo and it was a lot of fun. We started with her indigenous heritage and flowed. She is a Grammy-nominated composer and recording artist, a multiple Parents’ Choice Award winner, and the author of Married to a Rockstar: Baselines and Musical Blessings for Healing. Over more than 50 years, her performances and arts education have reached over 1,000,000 children and families. She also sung background vocals for Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Harry Belafonte, Rod Stewart, Jewel, and others.

    Follow your passion until the end

    Reid invented XLEG, the first version of a hands-free knee crutch! In 2015, an icy Calgary road sent him into a tree and a two-and-a-half year gauntlet of 13 surgeries to save his right leg. He sketched the first version of a hands-free knee crutch between surgery ten and eleven. He drew a sketch in a hospital bed which is now XLEG, a commercially manufactured mobility device with FDA and Health Canada registration, four granted patents, and production runs in Calgary. He survived prescribed medication dependence and walked away from eight years on oxycodone through a taper program now used across western Canada He built the prototype with YouTube-taught welding skills because existing crutch alternatives failed him when he needed them most. He navigated the full arc from patient desperation to a regulated medical device company, including $115,000 in Alberta Innovates grants and a 2026 Startup TNT Summit win.     Unconscious 'dream stealers'

    Life is beautiful
