Proverbs 31:13 | Serving God With a Willing Heart

How do you become the wife God has called you to be when your husband is unsaved, difficult, distant, or simply not treating you the way you wish he would? In this episode of The Wife Who Prays Podcast, we continue our Becoming the Proverbs 31 Wife series with Proverbs 31:13: "She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands." We're going deeper into what it means to have a willing heart as a wife—even when marriage is hard. Being a godly wife isn't about being perfect, doing everything for everyone, or pretending everything is okay. It's about allowing God to shape our character, attitude, words, actions, and heart. In this episode, we'll talk about: ❤️ What it means to willingly serve God in your marriage. ❤️ Why your obedience to God isn't dependent on your husband's obedience to God. ❤️ How putting God first helps you love your husband better. ❤️ What to do when you're tired, frustrated, or feeling unappreciated. ❤️ How to stop allowing your husband's choices to determine the woman you become. ❤️ Why loving your husband doesn't mean enabling sin or accepting abuse. ❤️ How to love your husband while still having healthy boundaries. ❤️ Why taking care of yourself is also important as a wife. ❤️ How to turn everyday responsibilities into opportunities to serve God. 📖 Scriptures Mentioned: • Proverbs 31:13• Colossians 3:23• Matthew 22:37-39• Psalm 139:14 This week, spend the first 10 minutes of your morning with God before focusing on everyone else. Read Proverbs 31:13 and pray: "Lord, give me a willing heart. Help me become the woman You have called me to be, regardless of what my husband chooses. Teach me to love my husband with wisdom, grace, and truth. Help me surrender what I cannot control and trust You with my marriage." Then choose one ordinary thing each day—cooking, cleaning, helping your family, encouraging your husband, or another responsibility—and intentionally do it as an act of worship to God. And don't forget to do something healthy for yourself this week too. Rest, spend time with God, take a walk, read your Bible, or simply give yourself permission to breathe. You matter too. You don't have to wait for your husband to change before you become the woman God is calling you to be. You cannot control his choices. You cannot change his heart. But you can surrender your heart to God. You can choose kindness. You can choose wisdom. You can choose faithfulness. You can choose to grow. And you can allow God to transform you in the middle of your circumstances. Put God first, and He will teach you how to love your husband better. ⚠️ And remember: being a godly wife does not mean accepting physical abuse, living in fear, or enabling destructive behavior. Biblical love includes wisdom, truth, boundaries, and seeking help when necessary. 🎙️ New episodes every Thursday If this episode encouraged you, please follow the podcast, leave a comment or review, and share it with another wife who needs biblical encouragement. Put God First in Your Marriage

Put God First in Your Marriage How do you love your husband when marriage is difficult, when he doesn't share your faith, or when he hasn't treated you the way you hoped he would? In this episode of The Wife Who Prays Podcast, we continue our Becoming the Proverbs 31 Wife series and take a deeper look at Proverbs 31:12: "She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life." What does it really mean to do your husband good when he doesn't always deserve your kindness? We're talking about something that can completely change the way you approach marriage: Putting God first. When we love God first, He teaches us how to love our husbands better—not because our husbands are perfect, but because we belong to Christ. In this episode, we'll talk about: ❤️ Why your relationship with God must come before your relationship with your husband. ❤️ How loving God helps you love your husband with greater patience, grace, and wisdom. ❤️ What Proverbs 31:12 means for a wife in a difficult marriage. ❤️ How to show kindness without becoming a doormat or ignoring sinful behavior. ❤️ Why loving your husband does not mean accepting physical abuse, manipulation, addiction, or destructive behavior. ❤️ How to pray for your husband while trusting God with what you cannot control. ❤️ Why you don't have to wait for your husband to change before you begin becoming the woman God has called you to be. ❤️ How spending time with God can change the way you respond to difficult situations in your marriage. Proverbs 31:12"She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life." Matthew 22:37-38"Love the Lord your God with all your heart..." Romans 5:8"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Galatians 5:22-23The fruit of the Spirit. Put God first every morning before you begin your day. Spend time in His Word. Pray before responding to difficult situations. Ask Him to fill your heart with His love so that you can love your husband from a place of obedience rather than exhaustion, resentment, or the need for his approval. Then choose one intentional act of kindness toward your husband each day. Not because he has earned it. Not because you're trying to change him. But because you want your life to reflect Christ. And remember: loving your husband God's way does not mean tolerating abuse or putting yourself in danger. Godly love includes wisdom, truth, boundaries, and seeking help when necessary. You cannot control your husband's choices. You cannot make him follow Jesus. You cannot change his heart. But you can surrender your heart to God. You can choose who you will become. You can choose to seek Jesus. You can choose kindness. You can choose wisdom. You can choose to let God transform you. The best way to love your husband is to love Jesus first. 🎙️ New episodes of The Wife Who Prays Podcast are released every Thursday. When Your Husband Doesn't Love Like Christ | Ephesians 5:25 Bible Study for Wives in Difficult Marriages

Does it hurt when you read Ephesians 5:25 because your husband doesn't love you the way Christ loves the church? If you're married to an unsaved husband or you're walking through a difficult marriage, this episode is for you. In today's Bible study, we're taking a deeper look at Ephesians 5:25 and discovering what God wants wives to understand when their husbands fall short of His design. This isn't an episode about criticizing husbands. It's about finding hope in Christ, learning to pray for your husband, and remembering that your identity and worth are found in Jesus—not in your husband's ability to love you perfectly. We'll also talk about how to release the burden of trying to change your husband and instead trust God to work in ways only He can. 💛 What Ephesians 5:25 teaches about God's design for marriage. 💛 Why your husband's failures do not change your identity in Christ. 💛 How Jesus loves you with a perfect, faithful, and unchanging love. 💛 Why comparing your husband to Christ will only lead to discouragement, but praying for him leads you back to hope. 💛 How to trust God with the parts of your marriage that you cannot control. 💛 Practical ways to pray for your husband while guarding your own heart. Whether you're praying for your husband's salvation, rebuilding trust, or simply asking God for strength to keep going, I pray this episode reminds you that you are deeply loved, fully known, and never alone. What Biblical Submission Really Means | Ephesians 5:22-24 Explained for Wives in Difficult Marriages (Part 2)

Have you ever read Ephesians 5:22-24 and wondered... "What does biblical submission really mean?" Or maybe you've struggled because you're married to an unsaved husband, a husband who is difficult, or you're trying to honor God in a marriage that feels heavy. In Part 2 of our verse-by-verse study through Ephesians 5, we're taking a careful look at one of the most misunderstood passages in the Bible about marriage. Together, we'll discover that God's design for marriage is rooted in love, humility, and a relationship with Christ—not fear, control, or losing your identity. In this episode, we'll discuss: 💛 What biblical submission is—and what it is not. 💛 Why submission never means accepting physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. 💛 How to honor God while maintaining healthy, biblical boundaries. 💛 What Ephesians 5 teaches about a husband's responsibility to love sacrificially. 💛 Why your identity is found in Christ, not in your husband's choices. 💛 How to trust God when your husband doesn't share your faith. 💛 The difference between surrendering your heart to God and trying to control your husband. 💛 Practical ways to respond with wisdom, grace, and truth in difficult moments. If you've ever felt discouraged, unseen, or wondered how to faithfully follow Jesus in a difficult marriage, this episode is for you. Remember, your husband's relationship with God is his responsibility. Your calling is to faithfully follow Christ, walk in His wisdom, and trust Him with what you cannot control. Above all, never forget this truth: You are not defined by your marriage. You are not defined by your husband's behavior. You are chosen. Forgiven. Loved. Redeemed. You are a daughter of the King. How Do I Honor God When My Marriage Is Hard? | Part 1

🎙️ Ephesians 5:21 — How Do I Honor God When My Marriage Is Hard? | Part 1 What does it really mean to honor God when you are married to an unsaved husband or walking through a difficult marriage? In this episode, we begin a deeper study of Ephesians 5:21: "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." The word submission can bring up many emotions, especially for wives who have been hurt, ignored, mistreated, or made to feel like they are responsible for their husband's behavior. But what does the Bible actually teach? In Part 1 of this two-part study, we talk about what it means to live out of reverence for Christ when your husband does not share your faith or when your marriage is difficult. We will discuss: 💛 You cannot force your husband to love Jesus or change his choices. 💛 Your husband's relationship with God is his responsibility. 💛 Your husband's sin does not have to become your identity. 💛 How to respond to difficult situations without allowing someone else's behavior to change who you are in Christ. 💛 The difference between biblical humility and weakness. 💛 Why loving your husband does not mean enabling sin. 💛 Why physical abuse is never okay and why a wife can love her husband while still having healthy boundaries and seeking help. 💛 How to surrender your own heart and responses to God, even when you cannot control your husband's actions. We also look at Abigail in 1 Samuel 25, a woman who lived with a harsh and foolish husband but responded with wisdom and courage. If you have ever prayed: "Lord, how do I be the wife You have called me to be when my husband isn't treating me the way I want to be treated?" or: "How do I honor God when I feel like I'm the only one trying?" This episode is for you. Your husband's choices do not determine who you are. You are not defined by his anger. You are not defined by his addiction. You are not defined by his spiritual condition. You are not defined by the struggles in your marriage. Your identity is found in Christ. 📖 Scriptures Mentioned: • Ephesians 5:21• Romans 12:21• 1 Samuel 25• Philippians 2:3-5 This week's reading is Chapters 16 & 17.
