Most folks glance at the price board and think they know the weather. That is like checking the windshield while driving in the rain. Fear Wave scans the full surface of puts and calls to spot where institutions are actually pricing risk. This morning the first three looks after the open showed orderly premiums on both sides with no heavy call-side build-up. That is Clear Skies. When the radar reads Clear Skies all three risk tiers can file under normal wing widths. Conservative, Balanced, and Aggressive all cleared the gates this session. If you've been listening you know we have been watching how federal deficits keep real borrowing costs from falling even when jobs data soften. The tape has not yet forced a decisive break higher despite that pressure. Today the surface stayed calm enough for the full playbook. That tells us institutions are content to let the range hold rather than push through into new territory right away. One forward watch for the session is whether any fresh Washington spending talk later today adds water back to the radar. If the surface stays this orderly we should see the market respect the band around where it opened. If the afternoon sweeps show call-side premiums starting to thicken we will tighten the stance for tomorrow. Either way the radar gives us the picture before the price board catches up.
