Episode 9- The Hawaii Story I Wasn't Ready to Tell (The Pink Suit, the Lost Luggage, and the Grief I Didn't See Coming)

In January 2024, I landed in Hawaii for a trip I’d worked years to earn. There was just one problem. My luggage didn’t make it. Or so I thought. What followed was a Target run, a bright pink suit, a few unexpected outfits, and a story I originally planned to tell years ago. But looking back, I realize this was never really a story about lost luggage. A few months later, the company I’d spent a decade building closed its doors. What I thought was grief over a business turned out to be grief over something much deeper: community, purpose, friendships, and a chapter of life I wasn’t ready to let go of. In this episode, I’m sharing the Hawaii story I wasn’t ready to tell—and the surprising lessons it taught me about grief, identity, healing, and making space for what’s next. If you’ve ever felt stuck after losing something you loved, this conversation is for you. Because sometimes we’re not stuck at all. Sometimes we’re grieving. And sometimes the next chapter is quietly waiting for us to be ready. 💫  In this episode: ✨ The lost luggage story that became a metaphor for so much more ✨ Why grief isn’t always about what we think it is ✨ The unexpected journey from loss to creating something new ✨ How the Yes to Us podcast, journal, and community began to take shape ✨ Why some chapters aren’t meant to be replaced—they’re meant to be honoured. 💗 Thank you for listening to the Yes to Us podcast. Episode 8: The Person You Choose Shapes Your Life More Than You Realize

What if one decision quietly shaped every part of the life you’re living today? In this episode, I share the unexpected story of how my husband and I met, the seemingly random decisions that changed the course of our lives, and the lessons we’ve learned after 19 years of marriage. From moving across the world, raising three children, building businesses and investing in real estate, to navigating career changes, parenting, and now midlife, this conversation is really about something much bigger than marriage. It’s about choosing a life that feels aligned with your values—even when it doesn’t make sense to everyone else. We talk about: ✨Why the person you choose impacts every area of your life ✨Following your intuition when life takes unexpected turns ✨Building a relationship rooted in friendship, communication, and shared dreams ✨Why date nights and everyday connection matter more than grand gestures ✨Growing together through different seasons of life instead of expecting each other to stay the same ✨Creating a life with intention, flexibility, and purpose If you’re married, dating, or simply reflecting on the life you’re building, I hope this episode reminds you that the biggest transformations often begin with one small decision—and that love isn’t something you choose just once. It’s something you continue choosing, again and again. If this episode resonates with you, I’d love it if you’d follow the podcast, leave a review, or share it with someone who might need the reminder today. Thank you for being here. 💗

Episode 4: What Your Unused Gift Cards Might Really Mean

🎁 What if your unused gift cards aren’t really about the gift cards? In this week’s episode, I share a realization that stopped me in my tracks. I had over $1,000 in spa gift certificates sitting in my office… unused. And here’s what struck me: ✨ They weren’t things I needed to save up for. ✨ They weren’t things I needed to budget for. ✨ They had already been paid for. The experience was literally waiting for me. After sharing this on a previous episode, women started telling me they had unused gift cards too. Spa days. Massages. Pedicures. Blowouts. Birthday gifts. Mother’s Day gifts. All sitting in a drawer waiting for “someday.” And it got me thinking… If the experience has already been paid for, what are we waiting for? How often do we postpone ourselves? We save the fancy candle. We save the good dishes. We save the nice purse. We save the gift card. We tell ourselves we’ll enjoy it later—when life slows down, when everything is done, when we’ve somehow earned it. But what if later is now? In this episode, we’re talking about why so many women struggle to receive the care, joy, and experiences already available to them—and why it’s time to stop putting ourselves at the bottom of the list. Because sometimes the things we’re saving for later aren’t things at all. They’re experiences, joy, and moments meant for us. So tell me… Do you have an unused gift card hiding somewhere? 👀 And more importantly… when are you going to use it? ⏰ 💗 If this episode resonated with you, share it with a friend who might need this reminder too. And if you’re enjoying the podcast, leaving a review helps more women discover the Yes to Us message.
