    SERIAL KILLER - BIBLE JOHN

    Welcome back to True Crime with Emma. In this episode, we’re heading back to Glasgow in the late 1960s to explore one of Scotland’s most infamous unsolved murder cases: the story of Bible John. Between 1968 and 1969, three young women — Patricia Docker, Jemima McDonald and Helen Puttock — were murdered after nights out at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom. Their deaths would spark an extensive police investigation and a search for a man who became known as Bible John. The name came from accounts that the man spoke about religion and quoted the Bible during conversations with one of his victims. Despite witness descriptions, an enormous investigation and decades of speculation, his identity has never been conclusively established. We’ll be looking at the lives of the three women, the circumstances surrounding their murders, the investigation that followed and the theories that have emerged over the years. More than 50 years later, the identity of Bible John remains one of Scotland’s most haunting unanswered questions.     Missing Monday: The Disappearance of Moira Anderson 🖤 ⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode discusses child sexual abuse and the suspected abduction and murder of a child. Welcome back to another episode of True Crime with Emma 🖤 This week, for Missing Monday, we’re looking at the heartbreaking disappearance of 11-year-old Moira Anderson, who vanished from Coatbridge, Scotland, during a severe snowstorm on 23 February 1957. Moira had been visiting her grandmother when she was sent on a short errand to a local Co-op. She was expected to return home, but she never made it back. Despite searches and decades of investigation, Moira’s body has never been found, leaving her family without the answers they have desperately sought for generations. Years later, disturbing allegations emerged surrounding bus driver Alexander Gartshore, and the case developed into a suspected murder investigation. In 2014, prosecutors stated that Gartshore would have faced prosecution for Moira’s murder had he still been alive. Yet, despite further searches and renewed public interest, the mystery of what happened to Moira remains unresolved. In this episode, we explore Moira’s life, the events leading up to her disappearance, the investigation, and the decades-long fight for answers — including the more recent developments that have brought renewed attention to her case. Moira was so much more than a missing person. She was a young girl whose life was cut tragically short, and whose family have never stopped searching for the truth. Despite searches and years of unanswered questions, what happened to Steven remains a mystery.     BRECK BEDNAR: THE ONLINE FRIENDSHIP THAT TURNED DEADLY

Today’s case is that of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy whose life was tragically taken in February 2014 after he was groomed online by someone he had met through gaming. What initially appeared to be an online friendship became increasingly controlling and manipulative, ultimately leading Breck to a flat in Essex, where he was murdered. In this episode, we’ll look at who Breck was, his family and the life he was living before he met Lewis Daynes, how their online relationship developed, the concerns Breck’s mother Lorin had about the friendship, and the events that led to the devastating night of February 17, 2014. We’ll also look at the investigation, Daynes’ arrest and conviction, and the work Breck’s mother has done since his death to educate young people and families about the dangers of online grooming. Following Breck’s death, Lorin LaFave founded The Breck Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping children and young people stay safe online and recognise the signs of grooming and exploitation. The foundation continues to share Breck’s story in schools and communities across the UK, with the aim of preventing another family from experiencing what theirs did.
