Need a decent-sized boot as well for the pram and luggage.Speaker 2: Yeah mate, this one should do the job. Plenty of space in the back, and it’s been well looked after.Speaker 1: Sweet. Does it come with a new WOF and rego?Speaker 2: Yep. WOF was just done last week, and it’s got six months rego on it.Speaker 1: Nice. Any major work been done recently? In New Zealand, this is what we call the trunk of the car.Second, Pram. P-R-A-M. This is the Kiwi word for a baby stroller or pushchair.Third, WOF. Spelled W-O-F. It stands for Warrant of Fitness, which is a mandatory safety check for vehicles.Lastly, Rego. R-E-G-O. This is short for vehicle registration. Now let's hear how it sounds in a busy environment with a natural, faster pace.(Repeat Conversation at a natural pace)Awesome! City Medical Centre, how can I help you today?Parent: Kia ora! I'm calling to see if I can get a flu jab for my two-year-old. We aren't enrolled with a GP here yet. Can kids under three get it as a casual patient?Receptionist: Yep, no worries at all. Toddlers can definitely get the flu vaccine. Since you're not enrolled, we'll need to set you up as a casual patient first, and the wee one needs to be registered under your name.Parent: Sweet as. What documents do I need to bring in?Receptionist: You'll need to bring passports and visa details for both you and your child. Also, before we do the jab, we'll need to book a quick consultation to get their overseas vaccination records sorted in our system.Parent: Good on ya, mate. I'll pop in tomorrow with the paperwork. Cheers! There were some very helpful details in there! Let's look at some Kiwi terms.First, Flu jab. F-L-U space J-A-B. In New Zealand, people usually say 'jab' instead of 'shot' or 'injection'.Second, Wee one. W-E-E space O-N-E. 'Wee' means small, so this is an affectionate way to say little child.Third, No worries.
