Midland ISD’s stupid, irresponsible, & wasteful lawsuit over Texas public school finance – Pratt on Texas 7/23/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes: Our Lone Star story of the day: Here it comes again!, as I have predicted time and again for two decades. Midland ISD votes to sue the state over the public school finance system and justifies such with selfish half-truths and general ignorance of the fact that the courts have made clear what the outcome must be no matter how often the legislature reshuffles the deck chairs. No system reshuffle will change the equity of funding issue and, any that fixes the equity issue will mean less control for local districts and will still take from districts like Midland. You better be careful what you wish for. This is the fundamental problem with all socialist-style government programs: You must have a general equity and history shows that always means the lowest level of equity, not the top. For example, the state cannot build roads with smooth lanes for use by only people with cars registered in certain counties, the more property wealthy counties, and then require people registered in other counties to drive only on the other rough, pothole filled lanes. Midland ISD votes to sue Texas over school funding system Midland ISD Sues Texas Education Agency Over ‘Robin Hood’ Recapture System Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995. Texas grants to Elon Musk’s Starlink face scrutiny – this is preposterous. Frankly all the money should go to Starlink because it immediately provides “rural broadband” for every person without such service whereas the others are long term construction build outs that may or may not actually reach customers. 22nd Texas county, Scurry County, outlaws abortion and use of roads for abortion trafficking. The news of Texas covered today includes: Our Lone Star story of the day: There is much ado about non-citizens voting with the latest scandal in Democrat New Jersey where a bunch of them have been voting. The real question is why are so many vehemently opposed to move that will improve the integrity of our elections – especially the perception of integrity held by members of the public? Why should flaws, even if not exploited often, not be fixed? Texas Dems have at least 2 creepy/perverted nominees | Midland Co. judge goes too far – Pratt on Texas 7/21/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes: Our Lone Star story of the day: As Little Jimmy “The Creep” Talarico gets funded by the very “Epstein Class” billionaires he frequently decries, Texas Democrats find themselves with two creepy candidates. TX15 is a congressional district Dems hope to flip to their Leftist side this election but their nominee, singer Bobby Pulido, is himself a pervert of the top rank. Also, far from a reformer, Talarico shows he’s the same old white Democrat by telling upset black Dems in Houston he’ll throw $25 million into black voter turnout. No doubt many in the room would pocket big parts of that and from whom would he get it? Probably the likes of fellow creep Hoffman. Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995. Midland County Judge, Terry Johnson, has gone too far in my opinion and should resign his post: (Isn’t that “local control” great?!) Midland elected official calls for County Judge Terry Johnson’s resignation Midland County Judge Posts Critic’s SSN on Facebook! San Antonio ISD hires superintendent with past cheating scandal [El Paso ISD] to fix budget deficit, avoid state takeover. (Isn’t that “local control” great?!) Governor Abbott Issues Executive Order Cracking Down On Birth Tourism Scheme – carefully note the wording. My guess is that none of what the hospital(s) have done is actually “unlawful.” Listen on the radio, or station stream, at 5pm Central. The news of Texas covered today includes: Our Lone Star story of the day: Is Abbott’s H-1B visa freeze real? Texas Tech doesn’t appear to think so: Did Texas Tech Just Violate Abbott’s H-1B Freeze? If Texas Tech can’t find its own graduates to fill this basic level job then it should shut its doors! Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995. Governor Abbott to propose the Legislature create a fund to help Texans get roofs up to “Fortified” status to help with runaway insurance rates. He, the Lt. Gov. and the House Speaker also direct agencies to prepare budgets 3% smaller for next biennium. ICE and Houston:  FBI obtains warrant to search Salgado’s van for drugs. Abbott says Texas Rangers will investigate Houston ICE shooting Houston immigration lawyer who accused ICE of abuse charged with strangling. Please no contest to domestic violence charge today. CNBC’s absurd worst places list | Abortion industry, media upset some babies being saved – Pratt on Texas 7/14/2026

The news of Texas covered today includes: Our Lone Star story of the day: CNBC is rightly being mocked for its bias that is so obvious as to be counted as stupidity in its rankings of “worst places to live.” Housing costs and population shifts show the legacy media oulet’s absurdity but, don’t think there are not plenty of Democrats in Texas trying to turn Texas into a Leftwing hell hole. Take this latest bit of housing cost increasing policy from the City of Houston. Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995. Leftist Democrats have yet another problem with pro-life crisis pregnancy centers: They may be helping save babies! Yep, now it is wrong to help a mother keep her baby if she changes her mind after attempting chemical abortion! NASA switches launch provider from ULA to SpaceX for its SunRise solar mission. Frontier Airlines picks Space X’s Starlink for inflight Wi-Fi. FAA seeking comments on SpaceX’s request to expand Starship’s landing zones. With Lubbock County’s sheriff, all the needs for more money are a moving target. It’s laughable except that it shows poor executive leadership and costs taxpayers’ their money. And by the way, his use of “critical mass” is language nonsense, it is meaningless. Listen on the radio, or station stream, at 5pm Central.
