    October 29th 2026 New England Video Fishing Forecast with Dave Anderson

    It is TOG TIME across southern New England, and warmer water temps means more time targeting these fish in shallow water. Word is that tautog are being caught from 10 to 60 feet and big fish are possible at nearly any depth. Sea bass fishing is also coming on strong right now, with reports of some particularly impressive specimens being caught in Rhode Island waters. Striper action has become a little tougher to nail down in many spots, but with good numbers of bass along the bayside beaches of the Cape, some heavyweights inside Narragansett Bay and reports of blitzes flaring up throughout Long Island Sound, there’s still plenty for bass guys to be excited about. We’re even still getting reports of albies along the shores of central Connecticut with bones still around in targetable numbers in Vineyard Sound. Make these last few days of October count!

    October 29th 2026 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr.

    Halloween weekend is traditionally considered the launch point of the fall striper run at the Jersey Shore, and on the backside of this past Monday's full moon with westerlies in Friday's forecast, it might just be time to make a little mischief by boat or beach. With bunker busting bass blitzes to the east along the South Shore of Long Island around Deb's Inlet and Captree this week, many folks in Monmouth County are waiting for the heavy push of migratory stripers there; but leading off this week's full video fishing forecast for the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region we put the spotlight on at least one jumbo land-based striper in Cape May County. Big news for Island Beach State Park surfcasters regarding beach buggy permits to kick things off, followed by a look at those westerlies and the latest striper reports (8:40). Black sea bass, tautog and porgy options (17:40) are there, plus the final Canyon Runner offshore report (21:00) for the season. A New Jersey subscriber (26:52) enters another Dream Boat fish, and George has your weekly freshwater update (29:05).     There are many signs that we’re progressing into the second phase of fall fishing and the most obvious is that the blackfishing has started fired up the afterburners. We’ve seen some really nice fish landed across the region, especially in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Striper fishing is evolving as well, with isolated pockets of great fishing (Canal, Aquidneck Island, Connecticut River) broken up with areas of slower action; the storm currently churning offshore should get some of these fish moving. The wind and waves have already lowered the water temps in Rhode Island from 61 degrees on Tuesday to 58 on Thursday, and that’s what it takes to see that migration urgency intensify. There are many other great opportunities to bend the rod as well; big bluefish in Nantucket Sound, excellent fall trout fishing all over the place… the only missing ingredient is your decision to get out there, we’re going to help with that!
