In our first episode, Avanti shares her journey to becoming a special needs parent- from the first signs that something might be different with her son Rohan, through years of uncertainty, and ultimately receiving his diagnosis of KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder (KAND). We talk honestly about grief, anxiety, comparison, hiding the hard parts, and what it took to begin accepting a life she hadn't expected. And we talk about something that has become central to Avanti's family: choosing joy- not instead of sadness or difficulty, but alongside it. It's a conversation about letting go of what you thought life would look like, owning your story, and discovering that acceptance and happiness can exist even when life is really hard.
