Good Misses

Funnel Golf

Good Misses is a golf show from two working coaches who spend their days on the lesson tee, not in the algorithm. Kieran Harris is a PGA of Canada Class "A" professional and founder of Feel Good Golf Academy in Toronto. JT is Director of Instruction and co-owner of Fairhope Golf Works on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Every week they take apart the advice in your feed: the jargon, the swing tips, the clickbait, and the myths. They keep it simple, they keep it honest, and they keep it fun, because golf isn't that serious. Expect real stories from the lesson tee, athletes and tour players who come through the shop, and straight answers about what actually makes golfers better. New episodes every Tuesday. Good Misses is a Funnel Golf show. Be your own coach.

Tradition Is Peer Pressure From Dead People | Good Misses Ep. 3

Kieran and JT set out to talk about one thing and talked about everything else. Waffle House Sundays, a park bench in Paris, Bandon Dunes at 36 a day, Sweetens Cove and a dog named Birdie, and playing golf in jeans and Converse. Then the dress code: a golf pro with a ruler measuring a skirt, the sock rule at a Tillinghast club, the guy oiling up on the first tee, and JT's line that if a collared shirt bars somebody from the game, get rid of it. The last third is for anyone who wants to teach golf for a living: 500 bosses, why they both left the private club world, and the two credit cards JT opened for his first Trackman. Tiger Doesn't Take Divots. Here's What He Does Instead | Good Misses Ep. 2

Tiger told Scottie he doesn't take a divot when he's flushing it. Kieran and JT explain why: low point. This episode covers attack angle the right way, arc depth control as maybe the number one skill in golf, the Scottie Scheffler time machine, and the $25 Sharpie-on-a-mat drill. Then the equipment half: why the driver came out low, get fit first or take lessons first, handle draggers, 4-inch-long clubs, and the guy who has snapped 35 to 40 shafts over his knee. Golf Isn't That Serious: Jargon, Swing Tips, and Real Coaching | Good Misses Ep. 1

Kieran Harris and JT are full-time golf coaches, one in Toronto and one on the Alabama Gulf Coast. In the first episode of Good Misses they take on the noise: jargon that sounds smart and helps nobody, death by a thousand swing tips, and the algorithm that keeps feeding you more. Along the way: why nobody coaches Josh Allen the way golf coaches golfers, what Butch Harmon actually asks Tiger Woods between rounds, the golf swing in two sentences, and Josh Donaldson, the 2015 AL MVP who swings it in the 130s.
