Ep 5 - Our First Guest! Matt Fitz From KNAFS

For the first time ever, we're not just talking to each other! We've got our first official guest. Matt Fitz from Knafs joins us in the hot seat, and if you've ever wondered what actually goes into designing a knife people obsess over, this is the episode. Fitz is the in-house designer behind the Capcom, the Yuti, and the Doodler, and we put him through the wringer on what he actually likes and hates about knife design, which trends he wishes would disappear, and the designs he still wants to make.We also dig into the Blade Show chaos that never makes it to social media: Ken Onion's scooter, Rikki blowing his own shot with Ramon and Ken, the infamous Cougar Kyle story, and just how exhausting Blade Show actually is behind the scenes.Plus: hotel room and couch-sharing horror stories from Knafs, Best Damn EDC, BiD, and literally everyone in the EDC community, Sam's kids can't stop telling people about their dad's knife collection, and why Sara ended up joining the team.

Ep 4 - Should You Trust EDC Content Creators?

Rikki went through an existential crisis as we discuss the whether or not you can trust content creators. We're also telling stories from knife brands that we probably shouldn't telling, but then again we never signed a NDA - we think. Sam is also about to head to Blade Show West in a week, so we talk about what he looks forward to and what he has planned, considered that it's going to be the first show without Rikki.

Ep 3 - Destroying Grail Knives With Rikki

This time we're tackling a genuinely spicy question: should EDC content creators be designing knives? Just because you've handled thousands of knives, does that actually mean you know what to bring to the table as a designer? This one gets personal fast since Sam has TWO knife designs out in the wild, so we're not just talking theory here.We also get into the infamous story of the time Rikki destroyed a grail knife in front of a lot of people (yes, it's as bad as it sounds), Sam's experience at the HAKD Festival in the Netherlands, and a general catch-up on what we've both been up to since our last upload — it's been a minute.Plus: we're celebrating 100 subscribers with an awesome giveaway hosted by Aux MFG (more details dropping on Instagram, so go follow if you haven't), and yes, we talk about Sam getting tattoos at knife shows because apparently that's just a normal thing now.

Ep 2 - The Secret To Our Content Creation Process

Episode 2 of The Rogue Reel Podcast is here, and this time we're pulling back the curtain on our actual content creation process.Sam and I break down where our ideas actually come from (spoiler: his brain works completely differently than mine), how we approach photo vs. video, why "toolkits" of visual references matter, and why Sam calls his style "dirty" while mine is straight up "filthy." We also get into the House of Blades x Chris Reeve Inkosi collab — Sam on photos, me on video — and what changed once we started working as an actual team instead of solo creators. Then it gets spicy: we go off on AI-generated content in the knife space, why using it to replace real craftsmanship footage is a hard pass for both of us, dealing with online hate and the difference between criticizing the work vs. attacking the person, and the weirdly common identity crisis of calling yourself a "content creator" out loud to strangers.Plus: fan questions, a giveaway announcement, sentimental knives neither of us would ever sell, and yes — the squid comes up again.

Ep 1 - This shouldn't have worked, but it did

Welcome to Episode 1 - The very first podcast from Raven Artworks, hosted by Rikki Hernandez (Capt. Rikki) and Sam Tran (Raven_The_Pirate).No script. No name. No plan. We literally just hit record and talked. In this debut episode, we get into how Raven Artworks came to be, our individual journeys into content creation (from a failed fitness YouTube career to a Photoshop hobby that started at age 11), the wildest Blade Show stories we've never told publicly, and an unfiltered Q&A pulled straight from our followers — hair routines, hyped knife brands, and how we actually use AI in our creative process. If you've ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of knife photography and video content, or how two creators with completely different skill sets end up building something together, this one's for you.
