The one decision that changed it all | Recovering from Trichotillomania after 22 years

What if the breakthrough you've been looking for starts with a single decision?  For 22 years, our guest lived with Trichotillomania. Day after day, year after year, pulling had become such a normal part of life that it was hard to imagine anything different. Today, after more than two decades of struggling and intense daily pulling, he has gone seven months without pulling after we started helping him. For the first time in 22 years, he feels free from the behavior and describes the positive impact this has had on his life, and the lives of those around him, as "the difference between night and day." In this episode of Winning From Trichotillomania, we explore the journey that led to this transformation, the challenges along the way, the insights that made a difference, and the one decision that became a critical turning point in the recovery process. This episode explores why treating the symptoms of Trichotillomania wasn't enough to stop the pulling, what fueled the pulling cycle for more than two decades, why the pulling itself wasn't the real problem to solve, and how changing the approach eventually led to a completely different outcome. This episode is about much more than overcoming hair pulling. It's about the decisions we make when what we've been doing is no longer producing the results we want. It's about hope, self-awareness, and discovering new possibilities when it feels like you've tried everything. Together, we discuss: • The challenges of living with trichotillomania over many years  • The turning points that can reshape a recovery journey  • Common obstacles that keep people feeling stuck  • The lessons learned along the way  • Insights that may help you view recovery from a different perspective  • Why one decision became such a significant turning point and how similar moments often appear in successful recovery journeys Whether you've been struggling for months, years, or decades, this episode offers encouragement, perspective, and practical insights for anyone navigating trichotillomania and hair pulling disorder. If you're exploring trichotillomania treatment, searching for recovery resources, or looking for hope that change is possible and wondering what the next step could look like, this episode is for you. 📚 In addition, we share resources, recommendations, and key insights that may help you move forward in your own journey. Because sometimes the most important change doesn't begin with a new technique, strategy, or breakthrough. It begins with a decision. ________________________________ Want to watch the extended video version of this interview?
