In this episode, we speak with Norway's Thea Røhme and Krister Kopala and get the lowdown on how their partnership works in high- and low-stress environments. Røhme is a charger on skis and is currently working toward her IFMGA certification, while Kopala is a highly regarded splitboard mountaineer who is making quite a stir on YouTube with his high-speed riding in some dicey situations. (You can find Kopala's YouTube here, and he is a regular over on Nikolai Shirmer's channel.)   Doug and Manaaseh were in Norway for a RAB event where Kopala and Røhme, both RAB athletes, screened their upcoming film, New Terrain, which will be released this summer. The film explores the duo's relationship, their ascents and descents, and how they make it all work out.     On Episode 133 of the Totally Deep Podcast: The good life in Norway's Lyngen Alps.  The sometimes delicate art of communicating with your partner. Thea may build better anchors than Kristor.  Not making a plan.  Making a life and building out professional riding projects.  Sourdough bread... why was it flat? The crux of New Lines. There's the usual banter, where Doug swears off Zone 2 training, and they introduce the two guest hosts for this "ins & outs" episode.    And...our guests are Manasseh Franklin and Rachel Beck, who take over the podcast for a much-needed episode dedicated to what is in and what is out for 2026. Basically, what is out, according to our two hosts, is this: don't be a douche on the skintrack. No better words have been spoken. Be kind. Be mellow. Be dedicated to good craft. And...don't be mean out there, this should be fun.    Othrwise listen in to some wisdom from Manasseh and Rachel and soak in the good word.    On Episode 132 of the Totally Deep Podcast: Fresh snow in the Rado.  A short tour, but a tour nonetheless. Zone 2...that's out.  HRV tracking...that's in.  Manasseh and Rachel set the record straight.  Don't Yuck my Yum! Sweat equity is in.  Being a douche, generally, and on the skintrack...it out.  Dunkaroos and Legos are totally in.   Strava...hmmm, it's a mixed bag. You'll get the low down on the pod, but it turns out Doug and Manasseh will be riding the Leadville 100 MTB race this summer. But that's not the whole journay in this episode that literally goes t**s deep.   Randy interviews Stephanie Villavicencio, founder of the Breast Cancer awareness non-profit, T**s Deep for Breast Cancer. The organization's misson is a worthy and mighty cause: "spread breast cancer awareness, advocate, educate & provide outreach to young women on the importance of breast health. We fundraise for women under 40 without access to early detection treatment and support young women currently in breast cancer treatment."       On Episode 130 of the Totally Deep Podcast: The 1st skimo race of the season and the ribbon of death at 12K. Doom scrolling and early-season stoke.  Mountin bile racing at Austin's limestone slabs.  Is this a shooting range? Gear, technique, fashion, jargon, guests, and assorted spray from folks who know how to earn it in the backcountry. The world's best backcountry skiing podcast.   Doug returns from a trip to Dynafit's headquarters in Germany and a visit to Oberalp's headquarters in Italy. We'll hear about the many ups and downs of riding in the Alps and Dolomites, and how the mountain culture in these regions has adopted the E-bike ethos. It's a debate that is still settling in the places Doug and Randy call home.   The banter about bikes evolves into the rarefied realm of UCI World Champs and the upcoming World Cup on U.S. soil, based in Lake Placid. He's been doing as much in the mountain bike and skimo racing scenes for well over a decade at all levels of sport.  Sufferfest accolades include two podiums at the Leadville 100 and skimo stats that make the head spin: 13 skimo national championships and a most recent highlight placing 21st in the ISMF World Champs vertical race. In his spare time, along with a growing family, Gaston helps run Strafe outerwear.   What we get on episode 127 is Gaston amped up. There are opinions on the skimo scene and gravel, as well as which bike you should or shouldn't take on your next gravel ride.
