  1. Iran War Targets Kharg Island, Joe Kent Resigns & Trump's Pearl Harbor Moment

    MAR 20

Iran War Targets Kharg Island, Joe Kent Resigns & Trump's Pearl Harbor Moment

The Iran war is escalating. The US is targeting Kharg Island, which is Iran's oil export hub, and it could backfire catastrophically. Oil prices are spiking. Global energy markets are in chaos. This is Trump's dumbest war getting dumber. Plus: Joe Kent, a former Trump administration intelligence official, just resigned over the legitimacy of the Iran war. This is not a small deal—it's a sign of major internal fractures inside the MAGA movement that will likely resonate into the presidential race in 2028. Markwayne Mullin advanced out of committee for DHS Secretary (John Fetterman voted yes—because of course he did). Trump embarrassed himself and the entire country in front of Japan's Prime Minister with a Pearl Harbor "joke." Elon's xAI is generating sexualized images of real people and now he's being sued by victims. The GOP is getting its wish: the likely death of the United States Postal Service. Trump's $10 billion TikTok deal commission is corrupt as hell. This is the chaos. Let's break it down. ⚔️ BIG TOPIC: IRAN WAR CONTINUES 🛢️ Kharg Island Bombing—The Center of Disaster: The US is bombing Kharg Island, Iran's primary oil export terminal. Kharg handles 90% of Iran's crude oil exports. This is the heart of Iran's economy. Why this is catastrophic: - Oil prices spiking globally (gas prices up in US) - Iran will retaliate (could close Strait of Hormuz—20% of global oil passes through) - Energy markets destabilized - This doesn't end the war—it escalates it Kharg Island is Iran's economic lifeline. Destroying it doesn't weaken Iran's will to fight—it guarantees prolonged conflict and global energy crisis. Source: Politico ⚡ Energy Targets = Economic Warfare: The US is bombing Iran's energy infrastructure: oil refineries, power plants, pipelines. This is economic warfare, not military strategy. The goal? Cripple Iran's economy, force regime change. The result? Humanitarian crisis, prolonged war, global instability. 📊 NEWS YOU NEED: 🚪 Joe Kent's Resignation Is Not a Small Deal: Joe Kent, former Trump administration official and ultra-MAGA Republican, just resigned over the Iran war. He's calling it a "catastrophic mistake." Why this matters: - Kent is a rightwing hardliner—if he's walking away, there is a larger underlying reason - Internal fractures in Trump administration and MAGA movement overall - Sign that even loyalists see this war as unwinnable - More resignations likely coming Source: The Atlantic 🏛️ Markwayne Mullin Advances for DHS Secretary (Thanks to John Fetterman): Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) advanced out of committee to be DHS Secretary. The vote was close. The same Mullin who has no DHS experience. The same Mullin who challenged a union leader to a fight during a Senate hearing. The same Mullin who sounds like he took too many punches to the head during his time fighting mixed martial arts. Source: NBC News 🇯🇵 Trump Embarrassed Himself (and All of Us) in Front of Japan: Trump met with Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. During the meeting, Trump brought up Pearl Harbor. Unprompted. In the context of the Iran war, while asking for Japan's support in the Iran war. Japan's response: Awkward silence. Our allies are watching Trump embarrass the United States in real time. Source: CNBC 🤖 Elon's xAI Generating Sexualized Images (Didn't See This Coming?): Elon Musk's xAI (Grok) is generating sexualized deepfake images of real people. Women are finding AI-generated explicit images of themselves online, created using Grok. NPR headline: "I don't see how Elon didn't see this coming." Correct. Everyone saw this coming. AI image generators + no safeguards = deepfake porn. This was predictable, but Elon prioritized "free speech" (no content moderation) over protecting people from AI-generated sexual exploitation. Now women are being victimized. And Elon is silent. Source: NPR 📮 Amazon Taking Over USPS (GOP Wet Dream): The GOP has wanted to privatize the US Postal Service for decades. It might finally happen. USPS is running out of money. Amazon is in talks to take over delivery contracts, infrastructure, and possibly the entire operation. Why this is bad: - USPS is a public service (delivers to rural areas, unprofitable routes) - Amazon optimizes for profit (will cut unprofitable routes) - Rural America will lose mail service - Amazon monopoly over delivery = price gouging This is the GOP's long-term goal: destroy public services, hand them to corporations. Source: The Verge ⚡ FAST CORRUPTION: 💰 Trump's $10 Billion TikTok Deal—Where's the Money Going? Trump brokered a deal to "save" TikTok. The deal involves $10 billion changing hands. Oracle and other US companies are involved. Questions: - Where is the $10 billion going? - Who benefits? - Is Trump getting a cut? Trump has financial interests in Oracle (Larry Ellison is a Trump donor and Mar-a-Lago member). This deal reeks of corruption. TikTok stays online. Trump's allies get richer. No one knows where the money went. Source: The Verge 🤦 WHAT'S DUMBER: A BRICK OR A REPUBLICAN? Netanyahu AI Deepfake Conspiracy: Someone created an AI deepfake of Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu's office claimed it was real, then claimed it was fake, then claimed it was a conspiracy. This is very dumb. But also very funny. Netanyahu's team can't tell real videos from AI deepfakes. Or they're lying. Either way, it's embarrassing. 2. Iran War: New Ayatollah, School Bombing & Trump's Messy Exit Strategy

    MAR 13

Iran War: New Ayatollah, School Bombing & Trump's Messy Exit Strategy

The Iran war is somehow both ending and just beginning. Trump wants out, but there's no clean exit. The US bombed an elementary school in Tehran. Iran has a new Ayatollah who's likely worse than the old one. Israel bombed Iranian oil facilities—and the US is reportedly furious. Meanwhile, Trump celebrates rising oil prices ("we make a lot of money"), and American Jews are caught in the crossfire with synagogue attacks at home. Plus: Jim Clyburn is 85 years old and running for his 18th term in Congress (GO HOME, JIM). The Senate will vote on Trump's doomed SAVE Act. Palantir's CEO said the quiet part loud about disrupting democratic power. Republicans lack of desire to regulate AI has consequences and they are showing up against Talarico in Texas. The FBI will be trained by UFC fighters, and Trump endorsed Jake Paul for... something. This is the chaos. Let's break it down. 3. Trump's Dumbest War Yet, Epstein Files Subpoena & Kristi Noem Fired

    MAR 6

Trump's Dumbest War Yet, Epstein Files Subpoena & Kristi Noem Fired

Trump launched a war with Iran because Israel wanted him to. Republicans won't even call it a war. Trump keeps calling it a war. An Iranian girls' elementary school was massacred during the opening U.S. strike. Oil prices are spiking. And for the first time in polling history, more Americans sympathize with Palestinians than Israelis. This is the dumbest war in US history. Meanwhile: The House Oversight Committee just subpoenaed Attorney General Pam Bondi over the disappearing Epstein files. Kristi Noem gets fired from Homeland Security for the most Trumpian reason imaginable. And the chaos continues. **THE IRAN WAR** The United States attacked Iran not because Iran posed a threat to America, but because Israel wanted us to. Secretary of State Marco Rubio essentially admitted this, framing the strikes as necessary to prevent Israel from attacking Iran alone claiming the U.S. would be hit in retaliation. We launched military strikes on a sovereign nation because we agree with Israel's shortsighted and brutal logic. Republicans are performing gymnastics to avoid calling this a "war" — except Trump, who keeps saying it out loud, forcing GOP leadership to walk it back. The consequences: An Iranian elementary school was hit in what medics call a "double-tap strike" — first strike hits the building, second strike targets first responders. Young girls were killed. Oil prices are spiking, and public opinion has shifted: for the first time ever, more Americans sympathize with Palestinians than Israelis. **EPSTEIN FILES SUBPOENA** House Oversight, led by Nancy Mace, subpoenaed Attorney General Pam Bondi demanding answers about disappearing Epstein files. FBI interviews with Trump accusers? Scrubbed. Bill Clinton and Hillary's closed-door testimonies? Suddenly made public. The DOJ is unraveling at break neck speed to cover for Donald Trump. Will Bondi comply or defy Congress? **KRISTI NOEM GETTING FIRED** Kristi Noem was fired as Homeland Security Secretary — not for incompetence, but because Trump perceived disloyalty. She shot her dog to prove toughness. She debased herself publicly. Still not loyal enough. With Trump, it's always about ego. **ALSO THIS WEEK:** Texas primaries showed a new voter suppression tactic — polling place closures in Democratic areas, weaponized ID requirements, hours-long lines. A Montana GOP senator broke a Marine veteran's hand while he was protesting during a Senate hearing. DOJ shelved the Biden autopen probe when politically convenient because they completely lacked any evidence, same as it ever was. Trump admin debating letting Tencent keep gaming stakes — the same "national security" argument used for TikTok. A truly terrible precedent if allowed to stand. Steve Daines manipulated filing deadlines in Montana to make it harder for Democratic challengers. From the dumbest war in US history to Epstein cover-ups to cabinet chaos to voter suppression — the dysfunction is accelerating. We break it all down. #Iran #Trump #Kristinoem Look Forward is a weekly progressive political podcast covering U.S. politics, government policy, Democratic strategy, elections, voting rights, Supreme Court rulings, and political news. 4. Trump's State of the Union Lies, Prediction Market Rigging & Epstein Deposition Chaos

    FEB 27

Trump's State of the Union Lies, Prediction Market Rigging & Epstein Deposition Chaos

This week on Look Forward, we break down Trump's record-breaking State of the Union disaster, White House manipulation of prediction markets, and the ongoing Epstein investigation chaos. Trump's State of the Union Fiction: Trump delivered the longest SOTU in modern history—1 hour and 48 minutes of detachment from reality. He ignored the economic pain Americans are feeling, lied about job creation (2025 was the worst year since 2003), claimed $18 trillion in investments that doesn't exist, and boasted about stock markets that aren't predictive or telling off the actual economy felt by the average American. We fact-check his most egregious lies and explain why this speech could cost Republicans the midterms. Prediction Market Corruption: The White House appears to be manipulating prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket ahead of major speeches. Over $12 million was wagered on SOTU details—from speech length to specific words Trump would say. Senator Chris Murphy calls it "just insane" that Trump's inner circle can profit by knowing speech details in advance. We explain how this gambling-meets-politics scheme works and why it's basically legal insider trading. Epstein Investigation Update: Hillary Clinton's closed-door Epstein deposition was derailed when Rep. Lauren Boebert violated committee rules by leaking a photo to MAGA influencer, Benny Johnson. Meanwhile, the DOJ quietly scrubbed records showing the FBI interviewed a Trump accuser FOUR TIMES about allegations he assaulted her as a minor through Epstein in the 1980s. Those interview records have now disappeared from public files. Plus: - Cuba strangulation: Trump's quiet campaign to collapse the Cuban economy - Democrats fighting to restore IRS Direct File - Rep. Tony Gonzales facing calls to resign over affair allegations - Nancy Mace forcing a vote on releasing Congress sexual misconduct reports - Anthropic refuses to let Pentagon use their Claude AI for autonomous weapons - US men's hockey team learns about AI exploitation the hard way Subscribe for weekly breakdowns of the corruption, incompetence, and authoritarian moves you need to know about.
