There's a reason this is THE longest running photography related podcast on the inter webs... it's because Chris knows his stuff and genuinely wants to help people improve and isn't just trying to sell you new gear and stuff like many of the other photo podcasts... Chris always has great topics and interesting commentary on current photography events. However he needs to start editing out his swallowing on his recording. It’s really distracting.

I’ve been with Chris from way back in the first year and have always given the show 5 stars. Lately, though, Chris has jumped onto the AI bandwagon in a big way. I find it tiresome. An AI generated image is an image, yes, but it’s not a photograph. No light hit a light sensitive material. Using an AI chat bot to craft replies to people is just sad, I’m sorry.

Chris has such a wonderful presence in this webcast. Informative and positive. Lovely 30 minute episodes that can inspire and inform your next shooting experience.

I have listened to dozens of different photography podcasts over the years and TTFT still keeps coming up as the best of them. I end up deleting many other podcasts after listening to 10 or 20 episodes because they either end up focusing too much on the newest, most expensive gear rather than the other important details of the craft or they are oriented too much towards aspiring professional photographers for my liking. TTFT does discuss high end gear and issues of import to professionals or aspiring professionals but it also covers issues of interest to art photographers, and people who make photos just for fun. It has a strong emphasis on photo education, explores a wide variety of aspects of photography and clearly emphasizes the view that learning more about photography and exploring different types of photography is much more important than spending more money on gear. The host is engaging and enjoyable to listen to. One of the few hosts of any podcasts that I have heard who is able to pull off a solo performance episode after episode. Even if they have engaging content, many podcasters cannot keep it interesting and enjoyable unless they have more than one person on mic. The occasional interviews that are interspersed in TTFT are great but even without them Chris is un to listen to.

I filld out the pod survey mentioned on the podcast It would not let me give ctual an honest answers. specificly when I answered that I listened to other podcasts, the next question was a large list of podcasts to check the ones that I listened to. Unfortunately I don't listen y\to any on the list, and the ones that I listen to were not on the list. Also, there was not an other option nor an none of these. It woud not send until did something. I ended up clicking on that i don't listen to other podcasts.

I was excited to listen to this podcast after reading the other reviews. Unfortunately The only thing I could hear over and over again was the lip smacking and swallowing - it was so distracting I had to shut it off. GROSS

This podcast is a must listen for anyone passionate about photography. Been listening since 2006 and throughout the years learned a lot from what Chris is generously sharing. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Whether you are experienced or just getting started, Photography Tips from the Top Floor by Chris Marquadt is a great show. Even if nothing else, it inspires you to get out and make amazing photographs. But the show is so much more than that. It is help with tough situations and highly informative about everything photography related. Give it a listen, you won’t regret it.
