    ep. 183 - The Sex of Politics or: Owning the Libidinals

    Unfortunately, politics is the new rock and roll.  Because movies and TV suck now, our celebrities are political figures. Running for president with a snowball’s chance in hell can set you up for a lucrative media career if you say crazy enough things.  It’s a new kind of power that politics provides. The Trump era has turned politics into a reality show. And on reality shows, only the most sociopathic make it into further episodes.  So what motivates people to debase themselves for this kind of power? What kind of power does this offer those who make it in the world of politics? My hunch has always been that it’s people playing out their relationship to sex. When I was a young boy, I wanted to learn to play the guitar because I thought that it would get girls to like me. I think you can apply that same logic to many of our political figures today. They want to be fuckable. Not to have sex, but to be an object of desire and to have power over others.  But not all sex is equal. Your politics determines your sexual proclivities. Communists and facsists are horny in different ways and it has everything to do with the way the see the world.  So how do Epstein, Obama and Trump’s politics inform their sexual idiosyncrasies?  To get to the bottom of this I am joined by Dorian (dankdeleuze) and Laura (freudwasframed) to talk about sex and politics.  This is the horniest and most pedagogical episode to date. Dorian and Laura are very smart. The experience reminded me of my time being the dumbest student at Reed college. But don’t let the scholasticism spook you.     TIME selected "the Architects of AI" as its "person" of the year. 2025 is the most online year in human history. A record that will be broken by every subsequent year in human history. That is unless we do something about it.  They are going to try and shove AI in every nook and cranny of our world because they bet the family farm (the world economy) on it. And if you are the slightest bit discerning, you've noticed it and it sucks.  I ask that we all take a pledge together:  I, (name), hereby solemnly swear to never knowingly share, produce or consume content that is "artificially intelligent" that could otherwise be real. If I am fooled by a video or image of an animal doing something silly that had I taken a moment longer to realize was impossible and clearly fake, may I suffer in shame and remorse and then redouble my effort not to rot my brain with further emptiness. Rather, the man behind the curtain has turned the dials to present him to young men to steer them away from the radicalizing politics of anti-zionism.
