You Might Also Like: The School of Greatness

Introducing This 1 Thing Can Rewire Your Brain & Unlock the Focus Your Phone Steals From You from The School of Greatness. Follow the show: The School of Greatness Environmental neuroscientist Marc Berman drops a revelation that could transform how you think about your daily struggles with focus, stress, and mental clarity: your brain has two completely different attention systems, and modern life is systematically destroying one of them. While we scroll through endless feeds believing we're taking "mental breaks," we're actually depleting the very cognitive resource we need most to achieve our goals, control our impulses, and become our best selves. Berman's groundbreaking research reveals that something as simple as a 20-minute walk in nature can be as effective as ADHD medication for focus, while looking at curved edges in natural environments literally makes people think more about spirituality. You'll discover why your environment isn't just influencing your mood—it's rewiring your brain, shaping your behavior, and determining whether you become the person you're capable of being. Marc’s book Nature and the Mind: The Science of How Nature Improves Cognitive, Physical, and Social Well-Being In this episode you will: Discover the two attention systems in your brain and why one is being hijacked by modern technology, leaving you mentally fatigued and unable to focus on what matters mostTransform your understanding of "rest" by learning why scrolling social media when tired actually drains you further, while nature exposure restores your cognitive batteryBreak through mental fog and decision fatigue using Berman's five daily strategies that environmental neuroscientists use to optimize their brains for peak performanceUncover shocking research showing that 11 trees per city block provides health benefits equivalent to a $20,000 income increase, and why hospital patients with nature views heal a full day fasterHarness the power of "softly fascinating" environments that capture your involuntary attention while allowing your directed attention to recover, making you sharper and more resilientFor more information go to https://lewishowes.com/1824 For more Greatness text PODCAST to +1 (614) 350-3960 More SOG episodes we think you’ll love: Dr. Kevin Tracey – greatness.lnk.to/1812SC Dr. Andrew Huberman  – greatness.lnk.to/1219SC Dr. Caroline Leaf – greatness.lnk.to/1785SC Get more from Lewis!  Get my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy! John then recaps all the breaking news of the day regarding injuries to Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow, Minnesota Vikings QB JJ McCarthy, and Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels. Next, John debates whether the Buffalo Bills or the Baltimore Ravens have what it takes to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Following that, John wonders if the Steelers will be able to step up in the AFC North due to the injury to Bengals QB Joe Burrow. Chiefs Start 0-2 After Loss To Eagles, Will Bears BENCH Caleb Williams? Colts & Cowboys Better Than Advertised, Brutal Loss For Broncos

Colin is joined by John Middlekauff, host of “3 and Out” to break down all the week 2 NFL action. They start with the Eagles holding off the Chiefs 20-17 and Colin explains why the Eagles are one of the best teams he’s ever seen when it comes to getting a much needed yard and closing tight games, but it’s not time to hit the panic button for the Chiefs (3:30). They recap the Lions absolute trouncing of the Bears and highlight why Caleb Williams has shown he can’t play in a timing offense despite having elite weapons and wonder if the Bears could pull the plug on him (8:45). They discuss a thrilling OT game between the Cowboys and Giants in which we got glimpses of the old Russell Wilson and argue that Dallas has been surprisingly better than predicted (26:30).  They highlight the Steelers offense as a more polished version of the Jets offense from last year and wonder if Aaron Rodgers will survive the full season behind a bad offensive line (38:15). They point to a huge statline from Mac Jones filling in for Brock Purdy and debate whether the 49ers could exceed expectations this season (50:15). They give their takeaways from the Patriots win over the Dolphins, including Drake Maye needing another year and the Dolphins defense being arguably the worst in the league (56:15). They move to the Colts escaping the Broncos with a win, the resurrection of Daniel Jones and argue the Colts will be better than advertised (1:00:15). Despite the loss, Colin still believes Denver makes the playoffs and could win the division (1:04:00). They recap the Rams win over the Titans and a huge game for Davante Adams and debate whether the Rams should be considered among the league's best teams (1:07:30). Finally, they discuss Justin Fields leaving yet another game with an injury and why his athleticism and size won’t save him from his inability to read a defense and contrast that to Joe Burrow getting hurt behind a bad offensive line (1:14:00).  All lines provided by hardrock.bet (Timestamps may vary based on advertisements.)
