    Cardiomyopathy – It’s just heart failure isn’t it?

    In this episode Libby and Dr Halliday discuss how a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy is different from a diagnosis of heart failure, as well as treatment options and genetics. Dr Halliday is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and British Heart Foundation Intermediate Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London and Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. His research interests focus on improving the treatment of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy at different stages of disease.     What are cardiomyopathies? Prof Perry Elliott

    In this bumper opening episode, Libby talks to Professor Perry Elliott about all things cardiomyopathy. They cover the different types of cardiomyopathies, getting a diagnosis, treatments and much, much more! Professor Elliott is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at University College London and a Senior Investigator of the UK National Institute for Health Research. He is Director of the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science UCL and a Consultant Cardiologist at St. Bartholomew's Hospital London.
