Expanding Inward

Lilly Macfarlane

Expanding Inward, hosted by Lilly Macfarlane, is a podcast about self-remembrance. So much of modern life pulls us outward, away from our own inner knowing and intuition. This show explores how to look inward with curiosity, remember your true nature, and come to accept and trust your inner landscape. What does it mean to make more space within? How can we widen our capacity to meet life as it is? And how does turning inward deepen our connection to ourselves, to others, and the world? Here, the conversations stay conceptual, drawing on voices from a variety of lenses. For a more experiential relationship to these topics, find Lilly's Substack, also called Expanding Inward, with practices to explore and shift your inner life. Let's connect! Remembering Our True Nature with Wendy & John Steward of Wild Tomorrow

If you're a nature lover, this one's for you. I'm joined by Wendy and John Steward, the co-founders of Wild Tomorrow, a nonprofit that protects and restores wildlife habitat for threatened species while building a more hopeful future for nature and people.  After successful corporate careers (John as a creative director at leading New York advertising agencies, Wendy as a Director of FX Sales for international banks) they left traditional paths behind to devote themselves fully to wildlife conservation, founding Wild Tomorrow in 2015. In today’s conversation, we get into rewilding (both the inner and outer landscapes), how the window of tolerance relates to compassion, the nervous system and why the change we want to see outside us begins by expanding inward first. Books & resources mentioned Less Is More: How Degrowth Will Save the World — Jason Hickel Dominion: The Power of Man, the Suffering of Animals, and the Call to Mercy — Matthew Scully Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet — Thich Nhat Hanh Beyond Words: What Animals Think and Feel — Carl Safina We Are Eating the Earth: The Race to Fix Our Food System and Save Our Climate — Michael Grunwald Learn more about Wild Tomorrow here.  Join us in London! On Saturday, June 20th we'll be hosting a Wild Tomorrow event at The Space in South London. It's a donation-based gathering where we'll explore rewilding our inner landscape while learning about rewilding out on the land. Learn more here. Saturday, June 20th from 3-5pm at The Space in SW4. 3. Money, the Nervous System & the Stories We Inherit

Money, the Nervous System & the Stories We Inherit

Today we take a grounded look at where our money stories come from, why success can still feel unsafe, and how to redefine financial wellbeing from the inside out. Money is not just about numbers. It lives in the body, the nervous system, and the stories we absorbed long before we had language for them. I’m joined by Maud Eeckman, founder of Homy, for an honest, embodied conversation about money mindset, financial wellbeing, and the beliefs we inherit around worth, safety, and success. We explore how money can look “secure” on paper while the body is still in survival mode, how burnout is often misread as failure, and why slowing down can actually create more clarity, trust, and abundance. This is an invitation to meet your own money stories with curiosity — and to begin relating to money from a place of regulation, enoughness, and self-trust. Join Maud in London for her upcoming workshop, The Art of Receiving | Money, Worth + Wealth, on February 8th at The Space.  Learn more and connect with Maud here. --------------------------------------------------------- For (free!) meditations visit my substack.
