Malevolent
Do not fear the dark, fear what darkness brings... Arkham Private Investigator Arthur Lester wakes up with no memory of who he is or what has happened, only a nameless, eerie voice guiding him through the darkness. Blind, terrified, and confused, his journey will lead him towards a series of mysteries in the hopes of understanding the truth of what has transpired. As cosmic horrors seep into the world around, Arthur must ask himself whether this entity truly seeks to help him, or are its intentions more… Malevolent Malevolent is produced, written, edited, performed, scored & created by Harlan Guthrie. This podcast contains mature themes, explicit language, bodily horror, violence, otherworldly terror and death. Listener discretion is advised. Full transcripts of every episode are available here. listened to this on lone walks in the woods

i love how all the little pieces come together nicely in each arc, and how the characters change and grow together. and the voice acting is beyond this world. i thought everyone was being dramatic saying how surprising it is that ONE person does all the voices. may i be damned, but i am shook and amazed. what i like particularly, is that the listening experience feels like playing an exploration horror game with quick-time events, and that is delightful for me personally. for the immersion i’d recommend listening alone in the woods with your eyes closed, preferably while using noise-cancelling headphones. cannot wait to hear more of this story
It was the best “podcast month” of my life.

My first full-fledged podcast turned out to be very, very entertaining. I cried and laughed. I wanted to hit Arthur in the face and hug him tightly. As a result, I experience such a range of emotions, as if I had read an excellent book. Is it good? It's great! The relationship between Arthur and the entity inside him had the wonderful vibes of a typical rom-com. With elements of simple and Lovecraftian horror. The only downside I can think of is my own problems with the perception of the voices of the characters. Yes, it's all Harlan. And it IS AUDIOUS, at least to me. Therefore, if not only Arthur and the entity inside his head were involved in the action, then my brain began to perceive them all as... one Arthur. A very strange feeling. But many in the fandom have not encountered such a problem at all, so apparently it’s only my troubles. In general, I highly recommend listening to it if you are not bothered by loud sounds, screams, detailed descriptions of all sorts of abominations and... corpses. Lots of corpses. And suffering, of course. All trigger warnings are attached to each episode (in the transcript), which makes life a little easier. They don’t spoil the plot too much, so you can prepare yourself for anything.

It’s completely crashed my heart and stole my soul. I’m on brink of nervous breakdown not fully in a positive way, but still!! Great show, great characters, great plot!!
