Faith Enablers (Part 5): Believing With the Heart

In the episode 11 of Bible Study with Mum, we continue our Faith Enablers series by exploring a powerful foundation of faith: believing with the heart. Using Romans 10:9–10, we learn that faith does not begin with outward action, it begins in the heart, where belief forms and conviction takes root. This episode unpacks the relationship between the heart, belief, and faith, and how what enters our hearts ultimately shapes the way we live. We also look at the example of Abraham in Genesis 15, whobelieved God’s promise before seeing the evidence, and how that belief was counted to him as righteousness. In This Episode, We Explore What it means to believe with the heartThe difference between belief and faithWhy belief must move beyond intellectualagreementHow Abraham believed God before the promise wasfulfilledThe biblical pattern: Heart → Belief → Faith→ ActionWhy guarding the heart is essential for growing faithPractical ways to protect and strengthen your inner belief systemBelief begins in the heart, and when the heart accepts God’s Word, faith grows and produces action.   Scriptures Referenced Romans 10:9–10Genesis 15James 2:19Acts 16:31Proverbs 4:23Jeremiah 17:9Hebrews 11:6Hebrews 3:12Psalms 119:11Philippians 4:6–7Weekly Faith Challenge Choose one promise from Scripture that speaks to your current situation. Faith Enablers (Part 4): The Power of Saying — Speaking the Word of God

In this episode 10 of Bible Study with Mum, we continue our Faith Enablers series by exploring the powerful role of speaking the Word of God. From the very beginning of creation, Scripture shows us that God spoke and creation responded. In Genesis 1, darkness and emptiness were present until God said, “Let there be light.” The spoken Word brought form, life, and order. Faith is strengthened not only by hearing God’s Word but also by speaking it. When the Word is spoken in faith, it aligns our hearts, shapes our thinking, and brings us into agreement with God’s truth. Using examples from creation and the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 21, this episode explores how faith and spoken words work together in the life of a believer. In This Episode, We Explore How God used spoken words in creationWhy the Word must be spoken to be heard and receivedThe connection between faith and the words we speakJesus’ teaching about speaking to mountains How spoken Scripture strengthens faithThe importance of guarding the “gate of the mouth”Practical ways to speak the Word during prayer and meditationSpeaking the Word helps align our hearts with God’s promises and builds faith for the situations we face. Key Scriptures Genesis 1:1–3Hebrews 11:3Matthew 21:18–22Romans 10:6–8Takeaways Faith is activated when you speak without doubt.Your words create your reality, whether life or death.Guard your mouth and ear gates to align with God's truth.Speaking the word of God in prayer is essential for faith to manifest. The word of God is powerful and active, bringing light and life.Reflection Questions What words have I been speaking over my life recently? Are my words aligning with God’s promises or my circumstances? What Scripture can I begin speaking over my situation this week? What’s Next Next week, we continue the Faith Enablers series and explore another practice that strengthens faith and deepens our walk with God. Faith Enablers (Part 3): Hearing — The Gateway of Faith

Faith does not grow by accident. It grows through what we consistently hear. In this episode 9 of Bible Study with Mum, we explore one of the most powerful faith enablers: hearing the Word of God. Based on Romans 10:17, we unpack what it truly means that “faith comes by hearing.” Hearing is more than sound entering the ear — it is a spiritual process of receiving, believing, and responding to truth. Jesus repeatedly said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear,” reminding us that we can physically hear words but spiritually miss their meaning. This episode helps us examine what is feeding our hearing, how the ear functions as a spiritual gate, and how intentional listening builds strong, steady faith.   In This Episode, We Explore What it means that faith comes by hearingThe spiritual process behind hearing and believingWhy Jesus emphasized “ears to hear”The ear as a gateway that must be guardedWhy elimination requires substitutionThe role of meditation and speaking the WordHow consistent hearing establishes lasting faithFaith comes when the Word is heard and it stays when the Word is continually received.   Scriptures Referenced Romans 10: 14-17Matthew 13Joshua 1:8  Reflection Questions What voices are shaping my hearing right now?Is what I’m listening to strengthening my faith or weakening it?How can I intentionally feed my ears with God’s Word this week?  What’s Next Next week, we continue our Faith Enablers series and explore another key practice that strengthens faith and spiritual stability. Ignorance: When Not Knowing Weakens Our Faith

In this episode four of Bible Study with Mum, we explore ignorance  not as a lack of intelligence, but as a lack of applied spiritual knowledge and how it quietly weakens faith in teens, new believers, and even long-time Christians. Drawing from Scripture, we learn that ignorance doesn’t mean God’s truth is unavailable. Often, it means truth is unseen, unused, or misunderstood. When God’s Word is ignored or not applied, faith becomes fragile and believers can live far below what God intends. This episode is a gentle but honest invitation to grow inunderstanding, stay teachable, and walk confidently in the truth of God’s Word. In this episode, we talk about: What the Bible means by ignoranceWhy God’s people can struggle even when they know HimHow ignorance affects faith, direction, and generationsPractical examples of how ignorance shows up in everyday lifeThe story of King Asa and how applied knowledge brought peace and later, how ignoring God’s counsel led to lossWhy knowledge protects faith and truth strengthens trustHow teens, new believers, and parents can grow together in truth This episode reminds us that ignorance weakens faith but truth strengthens it. Scriptures Referenced Hosea 4:6Isaiah 5:13Galatians 4:12 Chronicles 14–16Joshua 1:82 Timothy 3:16–17 Reflection Questions Where might a lack of knowledge be weakening my faith right now? Am I growing in understanding or staying where I’m comfortable? How can I apply God’s Word more intentionally this week?
