The View From Here - behind Enemy lines

Roy Pitta’s The View From Here

Mainly political, but not always; I hope you’ll find whatever I talk about both entertaining and educational. The name is from a weekly column I wrote in the early 90s, and is a subtle reference to my being “behind enemy lines” - a (then) Republican surrounded by Democrats; that situation has worsened, as I now watch both Democrats & RINOs they slowly turn The Garden State into a Shithole...I believe in true Republican Principles, not in the Establishment GOP these days. So I describe myself as a Constitutional Conservative Libertarian. And thankfully, I’m not as alone as I once thought.

Former California Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D) speaks his mind

We prove that Republicans and Democrats CAN have a civilized, friendly conversation, and not be at each other's throats even when they disagree. Mike Gatto was an Assemblyman for 7 years, in an LA district that includes Hollywood. Mike believes in talking things out, and is not afraid to call out either of the Political Parties on what he thinks is wrong. He is a believer in Common Sense, and actually believes in the Constitution (something many of his Democrat colleagues do not). Some topics we touch on in this episode: JFK, Bill Clinton, Obama, Liberals vs Progressives, Fetterman, young people, American Culture, Liberalism vs Conservatism, how Politics in the New Religion for many of the non-religious, Trump, the National Guard, Limited Government, Biden, Totalitarianism vs Vigilantism, Newsome, Pacific Palisades Fires and the NWS dire advance warnings which were ignored by LA politicians and Bureaucrats, Media Lies about those warnings, Karen Bass, how California is over-regulated and very expensive, how EV mandates are unrealistic, how AI will further drain electricity in a State where rolling brownouts are already common, the California Exodus of the last few years, labeling in California (why EVERYTHING is labeled as cancer-causing!)... Mike also talks a little about his book, NOIR BY NECESSITY, which he wrote about his father's still-unsolved murder during a home invasion, which also led him to step away from politics despite being the 3rd most powerful politician in California at the time, and how he refused to go against the 2nd Amendment after his father's death. His book is available here, on Amazon: https://a.co/d/6p6FlWB

    Jim Beach: Advice for Entrepreneurs

We speak with James Beach, entrepreneur, best-selling McGraw-Hill author, and Speaker; he talks about Startups, that is, starting a new business. He started his own first business at the age of 25. He gives advice for those wanting to start their own business, or to take their existing business to higher, more profitable, levels. He also speaks about the hypocrisy of politicians, Media, and Celebrities concerning Environmentalism (particularly about Leonardo DeCaprio and Jeff Bezos). We also touch a little upon the Assassination of Charlie Kirk, and about today (when we recorded this episode) being the 24the Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the WTC. *-*-* Here is where you can see/hear Jim on a regular basis: School for Startups Radio, on AM and FM stations across he country; His Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/school-for-startups-radio/id1679799374 His first book, School for Startups, on Amazon: https://a.co/d/6dIwlCG His latest book, The Real Environmentalists: How Wayne Elliot & Other Capitalists Will Save the World! is available for pre-order as an e-book here (it will be released on Kindle on September 30, 2025): https://a.co/d/fLNwWoL Here is the link to the available paperback version: https://a.co/d/g3dH5YI See also: https://realenvironmentalist.com/ About this book: We believe in climate change - and that humans are part of it. This book is not written by a denier, but by someone who believes the problem is real and urgent. But who’s actually solving it?The Real Environmentalists spotlights the uncelebrated entrepreneurs who are creating cleaner, more efficient solutions not for applause, but for profit. These are not government-funded researchers or celebrity activists. They’re capitalists - working 80-hour weeks, pitching to venture capitalists, and chasing innovation with the urgency and grit that only real risk-takers know. They’re not in the headlines or at award banquets. They’re in labs, factories, and code - using business to build a sustainable future. This provocative book argues that it’s not politicians, academics, or non-profit leaders who will save the planet. It’s entrepreneurs. The people building businesses that make clean energy affordable, waste reduction profitable, and environmental progress scalable.Whether you're a skeptic of traditional environmental narratives or a believer looking for real-world solutions, this book will challenge your assumptions - and introduce you to the people actually doing the work.

Trucker Mike Kucharski talks about Overregulation of the Trucking Industry

To skip to the interview, please fast forward to 40:25We start off with Mike playing his Indian flute - but I apologize, for some reason the audio wasn't picked up, though we talk about it as if it had... We cover RFK Jr and the stupidity and rudeness of the Democrat Senators who tried to intimidate him last week; we go on to talk about the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea getting together to celebrate the defeat of the Japanese in WWII (which was brought about by the United States and its allies, rather than by the Chinese Communists, who spent that war HIDING in the mountains while Chiang Kai Sheck and his men actually battled the Japanese invaders..). We had an unexpected visit from Mike Kucharski, of JKC Trucking. Mike had been scheduled a few weeks ago but had to cancel because of a sudden overseas trip, and his publicist failed to inform us that he had re-scheduled him to appear with us TODAY!Luckily, Mike and I had decided to do a podcast today anyway, so everything worked out. Mike Kucharski speaks about how overregulation has failed, how failed regulations are never removed once they are proven failures, and about the problems well-intentioned (?) politicians create for both this extremely important Industry, and for American consumers. We hope you will enjoy this informative episode. My apologies for the foul language in the beginning; we had no idea we were going to have a guest! Once again: To skip to the interview, please fast forward to 40:25
