V SREDIŠČU | Soočenje pred referendumom

Predčasno glasovanje za referendum o parkirnem odloku že poteka, finiš sledi v nedeljo. Da bi pobudniki referenduma uspeli, mora proti odloku o parkiranju glasovati 45.476 glasov ljudi, hkrati pa mora biti proti tudi večina udeležencev. Referendum je bila torej osrednja tema tokratne oddaje V središču, ki so se jo udeležili podžupan ljubljanske občine Dejan Crnek, sodelavka službe za organiziranje dela mestnega sveta MOL Polona Zupan Klopčič, mestni svetnik Piratske stranke Jasmin Feratović in Klemen Fajs iz civilne iniciative za Štepanjsko naselje oziroma civilne iniciative za Ljubljano (CILJ). Medtem ko je mestni oblasti z županom Zoranom Jankovićem na čelu vseeno, kakšne odgovore bodo podajali meščani (ZA ali PROTI), saj je prepričana, da referendum ne vpliva na nič več, ker je bil odlok, o katerem se glasuje, umaknjen, pa se v civilni iniciativi za Ljubljano s tem ne strinjajo. Menijo, da odlok velja, zato se jim zdi nujno, da se ljudje udeležijo referenduma. V središču smo govorili tudi o tem, kdo zavaja Ljubljančane, zakaj je v Ljubljani v povprečju največ avtomobilov v Evropi (530 na tisoč prebivalcev) in ali bo toliko ljudi, kot jih bo zdaj na referendumu glasovalo proti odloku, na lokalnih volitvah zagotovo glasovalo tudi proti kandidatu za župana - Zoranu Jankoviću. Vabljeni k ogledu oddaje, ki jo je vodila Brigite Ferlič.

Ni pomemben zahtevek, pomemben je "prompt" - trg Legal AI

Harvey je vreden 11 milijard dolarjev, njegov odprtokodni klon Mike pa je zastonj - dobrodošli na trgu pravnega AI, ki je v zadnjih mesecih eksplodiral. Harvey in Legora sta pobrala več 750 milijonov dolarjev v investicijah, Anthropic je pravo razglasil za svojo najhitreje rastočo panogo, v igro sta vstopila še Microsoft in OpenAI, Kirkland & Ellis pa gradi svoja AI orodja za pol milijarde. V 68. epizodi ob pivu narediva pregled: od Claude for Legal, Harveyja in Legore do odprtokodnega Mika in Laverna. Pogledava dilemo „kupi ali zgradi", zakaj je „večina pravnega dela ni več vredna plačila" postala resna teza, kaj to pomeni za mlade pravnike - in kako sploh veš, kateri AI je dober. Na koncu še domača scena (TFL AI, LEXI in slovensko grajena orodja) ter, ker sva pač midva, AI Act in odvetniška zaupnost. To ni pravni nasvet. Kaj pijeva v tej epizodi? Ep.130: Live Behind the News on Disinfo, Deportations, Corruption

Straight talk on what's behind the news, recorded live at the Full Circle in Brussels. Estelle Nilsson-Julien, a reporter with Euronews, describes the killings of two very different young men, Quentin Deranque and Henry Nowak. The tragedies unleashed torrents of disinformation that put more lives at risk. Both are now held up as martyrs by the far-right. Estelle also profiles the travel influencer sanctioned by the EU but who still peddles Russian propaganda on Elon Musk's X social media platform. Natasha Mellersh, a journalist with Deutsche Welle, digs into Europe's escalating push to deport migrants. Far-right legislators chanted "send them back" after approving the plans, which raise fresh questions about the EU's commitment to human rights. Natasha also describes how countries like France are criminalizing people who help migrants even as the Spanish government appears to be charting a different course, by giving migrants the right to remain. Simon Van Dorpe from Follow the Money describes how Dutch bank ING appeared to turn a blind eye to suspected money laundering by a former EU justice commissioner. Simon also describes why the push by EU conservatives to centralize power is raising concerns about cronyism and corruption. Neurje v politiki - kdo bo plačal škodo - podkast #58

Poletna neurja nam kar ne dajo miru, divjajo pa tudi v politiki. Politična napoved je slišati takole: Miru še kar ne bo. Opozicija bo poskušala najti vsakršno najmanjšo priložnost za rušenje vlade, korist državljanov in državljank je v drugem planu. Čaka nas torej dolgo, vroče poletje. Po svetu naj bi bili deležni rahlih ohladitev, a za zdaj samo v besedah. Počakajmo in bomo videli.

“As there is more drone warfare, more artificial intelligence in the decision making, we’re going to have to completely reimagine how we cover [war]” Business presenter Felicity Hannah speaks to Patrick Tiernan, who runs the 337-year-old insurance marketplace, Lloyds of London. He says that autonomous weapons and AI-driven decision-making could change how conflict risk is calculated and insured, because traditional assumptions about how wars escalate may no longer hold. This week on Democracy Dialogues, Frances Cayton speaks with four experts on Polish politics about the success of Poland’s opposition coalition in 2023, and the headwinds that democracy continues to face today. What challenges do parties and civil society face in building pro-democracy electoral coalitions? If victorious, how do these challenges affect post-election governance and efforts at pursuing democratic renewal?
