The Risen Fallen Podcast

Mark Henriksen

We ALL fall down, together we rise. Whether you’re going through dark days, or have dealt with them in the past, or perhaps maybe they have impacted someone you love, we have all been impacted by mental health struggles in some way, shape or form. No matter what it is that you are going through, life can and will get better for you. We have all felt that same feeling of being alone in this world, when the lights are all out, and nobody else is awake and all we have is the voice in our head. The feeling that even with our friends, family, coworkers, teammates, bosses, coaches, and peers around us, that we are alone in this fight, and in this world. THAT SPECIFIC FEELING IS WHAT CONNECTS US ALL. We are together alone. Not only will it get “better” but I truly believe you can find the greatness that resides within you, and that you’ll spread it to others as well. I find it interesting to speak with business owners, hard workers, and inspiring people about the challenges they have faced and how they‘ve overcome them. Based out of Vancouver, I find it important to speak about some of the difficult things in life, and to encourage others to feel happier and spread the love!

The Secret to Real Progress: Build Trust Before You Chase More | Ep. #202

After shoulder surgery, I’ve been working with my physiotherapist on rebuilding my range of motion, strength, and confidence. But during one of our conversations, he said something that hit way deeper than just physical rehab.   He talked about the importance of building confidence in the range of motion I already have before trying to force more. In other words, my nervous system needs to learn that I’m safe, capable, and in control where I already am before it will trust me to move further.   And honestly, I think that applies to life too.   A lot of us are constantly chasing more. More success, more money, more discipline, more confidence, more growth, more progress. We want to expand our “range of motion” in life, but we haven’t mastered the range we already have. We want the next level before we’ve built trust with the current one.   In this solo episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I talk about why real progress often starts with slowing down, mastering the basics, and proving to yourself that you can be consistent with what is already in your hands. Whether it’s fitness, business, relationships, mental health, faith, or personal growth, confidence is built through repetition, small wins, and learning to trust yourself again.   This episode is about rebuilding your foundation, expanding your capacity, and understanding that progress should stretch you — not snap you.   If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, impatient, or like you’re constantly trying to force yourself into the next version of your life, this one is for you.   If you liked the show, help it grow!   Leave a review and rate 5 stars on Apple Podcast, and Spotify! 3   Reach out on Instagram: @RisenFallen   Check out my website: www.risenfallen.com

Aversion To Normalcy | Sean Martin | The Quarantined | Ep. #197

In this episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I sit down with Sean Martin — singer, guitarist, songwriter, and the driving force behind The Quarantined — for a powerful conversation about music, purpose, struggle, and what it means to create something real in a world that rewards conformity. The Quarantined is a grunge/punk/metal project led by Sean, built around socially critical songwriting and themes like politics, trauma, addiction, war, and resilience.   Sean’s story goes way deeper than just the music. He’s a Musicians Institute alumnus, a longtime performer and songwriter, and a U.S. Army Airborne Infantry veteran who has become an advocate for veterans’ mental health and PTSD awareness. His work with The Quarantined reflects that lived experience, blending aggressive rock energy with deeply personal and socially conscious themes.   We also talk about the evolution of The Quarantined, from their earlier releases and live shows in Southern California to newer music like Aversion to Normalcy, the band’s 2025 EP recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios and Sound Emporium. The release was executive produced by Sean Martin and produced with Nathan Yarborough, with the band’s official bio describing it as a cathartic confrontation with trauma, resilience, and the illusion of “normal” in a fractured world.   The band’s momentum has been growing fast. Their official site says the recent singles tied to Aversion to Normalcy have surpassed 600,000–900,000 Spotify streams and generated more than 40 million TikTok views, while Apple Music lists Aversion to Normalcy as their latest release and highlights songs like “Nemesis (friend of mine),” “Trendsetter,” “Shadow (on my back),” “Skeleton Chair,” and “Unspoken.” Sean also has press recognition connected to The Quarantined and related releases, with the band’s official site citing coverage from Rolling Stone UK, USA Today, and LA Weekly.   If you’re into rock podcasts, grunge revival, independent music, songwriting, mental health conversations, veteran stories, PTSD recovery, and authentic artist interviews, this is an episode you’ll want to hear.   His links:    Website — https://www.thequarantined.com/  Instagram — https://www.instagram.com/thequarantined/  Facebook — https://www.facebook.com/TheQuarantined/  TikTok — https://www.tiktok.com/@TheQuarantined  Bandcamp — https://thequarantined.bandcamp.com/  Spotify Artist Page — https://open.spotify.com/artist/5mBHj43S2kBEJxxfwHrOSt?si=qrTPnKbCRXmpxVkpJoIHLw YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thequarantined LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/in/sean-martin-42912361/  Apple Music — https://music.apple.com/us/artist/the-quarantined/586506131 Aversion to Normalcy hyperlink— https://too.fm/kdmjayj If you liked the show, help it grow!   Leave a review and rate 5 stars on Apple Podcast, and Spotify! 3   Reach out on Instagram: @RisenFallen   Check out my website: www.risenfallen.com
