Wesam Charkawi
Wesam Charkawi is an Australian-born Islamic scholar, imam and community leader of Lebanese heritage. He studied the traditional Islamic sciences in Syria and Lebanon, follows the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, and teaches Ash‘ari and Maturidi theology. He is also the founder of the Abu Hanifa Institute in Sydney and is actively involved in education, youth development and community advocacy.
