    Episode 320: The Mortuary Assistant, Deep Water, The Fires, Mockbuster, The Morrigan, They Wait In Shadows, Tinsman Road, Duped, Into the Blue 2

    In this episode Mike, Steve and Amanda tackle seven new releases. NB: This episode was recorded in two sessions as not everyone was available on the same day.  As usual, click the link to be taken to a trailer for each film!   We kick off with THE MORTUARY ASSISTANT (Acorn), an adaptation of a survival horror video game! Renny Harlin returns to shark territory with DEEP WATER (Signature Entertainment). THE FIRES (Signature Entertainment) is an Icelandic disaster movie featuring erupting volcanoes... MOCKBUSTER (Miracle Media)  is a documentary charting a film-maker's journey directing a film for The Asylum... THE MORRIGAN (Thunderbird Releasing) is a folk horror set around an archeological dig site in Ireland THEY WAIT IN SHADOWS (Miracle Media) is a British horror set in a small suburban house... TINSMAN ROAD (Blue Finch Film Releasing) is a found footage/mockumentary about a man seeking answers to the disappearance of his sister many years previously. Our Short Shot is DUPED:! - A TIME LOOP THAT BREAKS, in which a woman returns home after a bad date and is subjected to strange goings on. The DTV Throwback is INTO THE SEA: THE REEF, a DTV sequel to the Paul Walker/Jessica Alba film. The film is available on Youtube HERE, and I'm sure other streaming sites.     Episode 319: Son of the Soil, The Curse, The Gentle Sex, Hail Caesar

    In this episode, Mike and Amanda take a look at two new releases; as usual, click the links to see a trailer for each film! We kick off with SON OF THE SOIL (Trinity Content Partners), an independent action movie from Nigeria, directed by Chee Keong Cheung (REDCON-1, Bodyguard: A New Beginning). Next is THE CURSE (Blue Finch Film Releasing), a Japanese horror centred around a traditional curse ritual brought to life for the digital age. We start with BLACK BOX: FLIGHT 298 (Signature Entertainment) in which the passengers on an overnight flight encounter strange goings on both inside and outside their plane! THE LAST ASSASSINS (Seven Tales) is set in a dystopian future and follows a young woman and her bodyguard crossing the wastelands... EXECUTIONER (Reel2ReelFilms): A politician facing a blackmail plot schemes to turn the tables on his antagonist. THE FETUS (Miracle Media) finds a young woman pregnant with a half demon fetus...   Our Short Shot is MAGICAL MEAT, about an elderly Japanese man seeking to find courage from Danny Trejo. (High Fliers), a supernatural tale in which a young woman looking to debunk spiritualism, messes with a candle linked to the Other Side.... BUFFALO DAZE (High Fliers) is a historical dramatisation of the life of native outlaw, Jim Grinder. DEAD LOVER (Lightbulb Film  Distribution) is an avant-garde take on the Frankenstein storyline... HOLD THE FORT (Signature Entertainment is where a young couple who find out that owning their own home comes with supernatural small print! REMEMORY (Miracle Media) finds two cops having to protect a child who professes to have been a gangster in a previous life. ROUND THE DECAY (Seven Tales) is about a small tourist town under seige from cave-dwelling creatures... SHADOWS OF WILLOW CABIN (Grimm Vision) finds two men wrestling with their sexuality as well as a resident ghost in their getaway cabin.... THE KILLGRIN (High Fliers) sees a woman wrestling with a tragedy, only to be told she's being haunted by a demon...   Our Short Shot is DAVE THE DIVER, a short produced by The Asylum as a tie-in to a video game. Click the link to see the whole short film!   Our DTV Throwback is REPLIKATOR, set in the far-flung future of 2014, where a scientist accidentally produces an evil clone of himself!     Episode 316: The Sheriff, Signal One, A Memory Owed, The Gathering

    In this episode, Mike and Steve tackle two new releases; as usual, click the link if you want to see a trailer... THE SHERIFF (High Fliers) finds out titular lawman scratching at the dark underbelly of a rural farm town, looking for answers about the murder of his own son five years previously.... SIGNAL ONE (Signature Entertainment) sees two young brilliant scientists recruited to a secluded tropical island, where a current experiment is likely to change the course of human existence. The Short Shot is A MEMORY OWED, starring James Bolem as a pensioner on a special visit to a WW2 RAF airfield. Click the link to see the whole short. The DTV Throwback is THE GATHERING, starring Christina Ricci, Ioan Gruffud and Stephen Dillane.     In this episode Mike, Steve, Amanda and Rich tackle a bumper eight films! As usual, click the links to see a trailer for each film: We kick off with the Nordic creature feature, KRAKEN (Signature Entertainment), in which an aquatic behemoth is disturbed by new technology used at a salmon farm.... 13 SOULS (Seven Tales) is about a teen girl being reunited with her father and sister, and attacked by the ghosts of unnamed dead in the cemetery next door... AFFECTION (Blue Finch Film Releasing) is the first of three films this episode in which a woman suffers memory loss - this time waking in a farm w her husband & daughter...or is she?? CRYBABY BRIDGE (High Fliers) finds a pregnant teen revisiting her childhood and discovering her past and ghosts.... DIABOLIC (Lightbulb Film Distribution): a young woman suffering memory loss (!) turns to the Mormon sect she was once part of.... TRIBE (GrimmVision) - a Found Footage film in which a former professor heads to the mountains and gets entangled in strange occurrences... WOKEN (101 Films) - A woman with memory loss (!!!) finds herself secluded on an island with her husband and mother... or is she? BEAST (Vertigo Releasing) finds a former MMA champion forced to get back into the ring to help his family, reuniting with his former coach and facing his past. Our Short Shot is NO TROUBLE, in which a parolee working in a Chinese Restaurant has a crushing dilemma to solve.     SHORT SHOTS Episode 25: Action roundup!

    In this episode of The Short Shots, Mike and Rich take a look at some recent action shorts. Click the links to see each of the films in full... AGENT CHING ATTACKS is a Bollywood action movie condensed into 9min and all in the service of promoting a line of cooking sauces! BAGARRE LAND (FIGHT LAND) is a French musical short about two guys trying to get served at closing time!  LIYABUYA sees two mercenaries stuck with a flat tyre and a dangerous captive... LOVE & WAR is about 2 assassins who discover they are both their next target, while on a date! PACONTENTITE AIGUE (ACUTE GRUMPITIS) is a condition suffered by a man admitted to hospital but just can't relax! PROJECT HOURGLASS mixes espionage, time travel and fights, all in 7 minutes! RED finds two mercenary bodyguards trying to protect a client who might not be what he seems. THE SAVIOR is a throwback to 90s HK action, as a man fights his way through a restaurant looking for a missing girl... Our Long Shot is NINJA KILLFACE  in which an expert assassin starts to have second thoughts about his boss when he rescues the man's daughter... Our Short Throwback is TEN MINUTES FOR A POUND, in which two friends end up fighting in a laundrette. You will need to sign up to ShortsTV for this one, but you can get a 7 day free trial...
