  1. Ann McFerran Left Thailand With Nothing. Then Built a $40M Beauty Empire.

    HÁ 6 DIAS

Ann McFerran Left Thailand With Nothing. Then Built a $40M Beauty Empire.

Ann McFerran was a broke artist in a Koreatown backhouse, driving a PT Cruiser, with a few thousand dollars and an idea for magnetic lashes nobody had made yet. No investors. No business degree. No safety net. By year two, Glamnetic hit $40 million in revenue. This week on Superwomen, Ann breaks down exactly how she got there through cold DMs with 30% conversion rates, hand-labeling products with friends at midnight, maxing out credit cards, and becoming her own influencer before TikTok even existed. We also get into why she's never taken outside funding, what she's building next with DIGI Beauty, and the mindset shift that separates founders who quit from founders who scale. If you're in the early, unglamorous stage of building something… this one's for you. From Heartbreak to Hope: A 4-Year IVF Journey, Embracing Donor Eggs & the Path to Motherhood with Camille Guaty, Actress and Infertility Advocate

You may recognize her from her roles on TV and in movies, including her most recent role as Detective Silva in Harold and the Purple Crayon. Still, actress and infertility advocate Camille Guaty has an even bigger story to share. The story that led her to play the most important role of her life - playing mother to her beloved five-year-old son Morrison. Working in the entertainment industry can be tough for actresses who want to become mothers, and it can be especially difficult for actresses who wait until later in life to have children. So when Camille tried to get pregnant at 38, she knew it would be challenging, but she faced a challenge she never expected: infertility. She went on to endure a four-year IVF journey of relentless effort and heartache – a journey that saw her through 21 of her embryos that didn’t take, an emotional pivot to using a donor egg and navigating the painful grief of letting go of the traditional path to motherhood. In her personal story, Camille shares the difficulty of finding a donor, her heartbreak when a donor attempt failed, and her emotional breakthrough after a second embryo took. Her story is one of resilience, acceptance, and ultimate joy, a testament to the strength it takes to embrace the unconventional and find light in the dark.  Thanks for listening!  Don't forget to order Rebecca's new book, Fearless: The New Rules for Unlocking Creativity, Courage, and Success. Finding no truly sustainable fashion pieces, Vanessa embarked on a journey to start a luxury brand rooted in transparency and care for animal, environmental, and human welfare. Through a farm-to-closet supply chain, Vanessa has developed a new model for sustainable fashion that enables the consumer to connect with the piece's origin story. 8. How She Built a Better-For-You 2 Billion Dollar Empire with Allison Ellsworth, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Poppi

    08/05/2025

How She Built a Better-For-You 2 Billion Dollar Empire with Allison Ellsworth, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Poppi

On this episode of SUPERWOMEN, I sat down with Allison Ellsworth, co-founder of Poppi—the better-for-you soda brand that’s gone from tabling at the farmers’ market to one of the fastest-growing beverages in the U.S. Allison’s journey started with a gut feeling—literally. Struggling with health issues and searching for natural remedies, she discovered the benefits of apple cider vinegar. But instead of settling for the harsh taste, she hit the kitchen and created her own fix. What followed? A Whole Foods rep at the farmers market, a “Shark Tank” deal, and a rebrand that would catapult Poppi into virality and the mainstream. In this episode, she opens up about what it really took to scale Poppi: letting go of fear, maxing out credit cards, learning how to lead, building a brand from instinct, and saying no to “dumb money.” We talk team dynamics, viral TikToks, Super Bowl commercials, and why sometimes the boldest move is pausing everything to get the brand right. We also get into the power of believing in yourself, even when no one else sees the vision yet. After all, Allison is the self-proclaimed Chief Believe Officer.  Whether you’re building a business or just love a good founder story, Allison’s energy, honesty, and unstoppable drive will leave you inspired—and maybe craving a can of Poppi. If you’ve ever been told “That’s not how it’s done,” this one’s for you. Thank you for listening!
