    👉Article Taking a week off work can reduce stress, but it's easy to check email and reply to messages from colleagues while you're away. But what if everyone at your workplace had the same week off? That's exactly what one company has done to help fight burnout. Burnout — feeling exhausted and doing poor work because of long-term workplace stress — is becoming more common during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help, employees at dating app Bumble were all given one week's paid vacation from June 21 to June 27. Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd gave the app's 700 employees the extra days off on top of their usual vacation time. The company said that as more people are getting vaccinated and COVID-19 restrictions are starting to end, it wanted to give employees an "opportunity to shut off and focus on themselves for a week." A few employees worked during the week to help the app's users if they had any problems, but they'll get their week off at another time. Bumble isn't the first company to give all of its staff a week off, however. In April, most of LinkedIn's almost 16,000 employees got the same week off. Social media management company Hootsuite also announced that its staff will get a week off in July.     👉Article Nintendo's April-June profit decreased 13% from the same period in 2020 as sales driven by coronavirus restrictions begin to slow, the Japanese game maker reports. The company's profit for the quarter was about $840 million, down from around $940 million the previous year. Sales of the Switch console were down 22% during the period, and the hit game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which sold 10 million units in April-June 2020, sold just 1.26 million copies in the same period this year. Nintendo's profits increased in 2020 as people turned to at-home entertainment during the coronavirus pandemic. But experts don't expect this to last as vaccines allow life to begin to return to normal in many places. This change is expected to hurt Nintendo, which tends to attract casual gamers, more than companies such as Sony and Microsoft, which offer consoles for more serious gamers. In its own forecasts for the full financial year ending March 2022, Nintendo expects $3.1 billion in profit on $14.5 billion in sales. This is a 29% drop in profits and a 9% sales decrease from the previous financial year.     👉Article Schools in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, are putting custard back on the menu after two school children started a petition to stop the desserts from being scrapped. In April, Aberdeenshire Council said it would change elementary school menus to meet the Scottish government's new nutrition guidelines. The guidelines say there should be no more than 15 grams of sugar in desserts served at elementary school, and children should only be allowed three desserts per week. So instead of custard and ice cream, kids would be given other choices — all part of a plan to get children to eat less sugar and have more fruit and vegetables. But 10-year-old Angus Beverly and 11-year-old William Dibb — both students at Rhynie Primary School — decided to fight for their favorite desserts. They wrote a letter to Aberdeenshire Council that said the desserts made by their school cook, Heather Moir, were "the best in the world." "They are part of a balanced diet for us and we know that Mrs. Moir reduces the sugar content as much as possible." Every student and all the staff at the school also signed the letter, including Mrs. Moir.
