Another Mother Runner

A family of three podcasts to get (+ keep) you moving without losing your family, job, or sanity! Nearly 1,000 (!) back episodes to enjoy. Every Friday on the original show (launched in 2011), host Sarah Bowen Shea, a mom of three and veteran of 14 marathons, is joined by a rotating cast of co-hosts and often a guest expert to discuss topics ranging from how to reach a big race goal to finding your athletic happy place, and everything in between. Training, nutrition, motivation, mental toughness, TMI issues: This show covers it all (and then some!). Many Happy Miles and AMR Answers drop on alternate Tuesdays: Many Happy Miles is hosted by AMR co-founder Dimity McDowell and Sarah Wassner Flynn, and it celebrates and explores all types of forward movement, whether an epic hike, century ride, or your first brisk walk after a setback. The co-founding duo of Sarah and Dimity host AMR Answers, providing insightful responses to listeners’ called-in questions. All three shows are witty and conversational, making them great running partners because the AMR gals do all the talking—even on the uphills!

Feeling a little loss…
Apr 20
I think of AMR as my best podcast friend (BPF😊) I was really sad this morning to listen to the last episode of Many Happy Miles. I am a little behind schedule. I think the book podcasts are good, but I am with AMR because I want to hear about running and runners. Over the past couple of years, it feels like the podcast is drifting away from running and I feel like I am slowly losing my best friend. Today I even heard a pickleball sponsor on the podcast. I am all for pickleball for those who enjoy it, but it is not what I want from AMR. I also enjoy the occasional book podcast but I am really sad to have those take over Many Happy Miles. I love the podcast, thus my five star review, but I fear my days here are numbered.
Inspiring and Relatable

I have been listening for years, these gals inspired me to continue running after having kids and even to try my first marathon! Now that I have 4 kids, I do not run as much but always come back to listen for motivation, even if it’s not for running. Although- after the Iron Man episode I’m thinking of training…for at least a 10K!
Dedicated listener for 9 years!

I started listening to this podcast even before I had children and was looking for support through my running training. The conversation and humor brought by the hosts on each and every episode has kept me engaged through many long and arduous training miles. I look forward to every episode and the expert advice that comes along with it. Thank you, Sarah and Dimity! ❤️
My lifeline to other mother runners

I don’t have a BRF so I take this podcast on the run and smile through my miles as Sarah, Dimity, and their variety of cohosts talk about all kinds of topics. AMR answers is my favorite because it feels like I’m hanging out with old friends who give good pointers while telling stories from their own adventures. It feels like we’re hanging out and their relatability is inspiring! The year end roundups are also some of my favorite episodes. I could listen to the hosts chat with each other all day even without people to interview.
