    In this episode of the Bee Formless™ Flow Driven CEO Podcast, I connected with Marla Crawford to explore life, leadership and business from the inside out through AI, legal transformation, motherhood, identity and the challenge of staying grounded whilst the world reshapes around us. Marla is General Counsel at Cimplifi, working at the intersection of AI, legal, compliance and organisational transformation in high-stakes environments. We began by talking about tulips, and all things optimism, one of my favourite things to chat about (ps. I love sunflowers), even whilst exploring tech disruption, burnout, leadership overload and the pace at which AI is reshaping the way we live and work. Marla shared her journey from Big Law in the late 1980s through to becoming part of the first major e-discovery case during Enron. Listening to Marla reflect on AI, after already living through one major technological revolution before, brought a level of grounded perspective, we need right now. We kept returning to the idea that adaptation is necessary, though losing our humanity is not. That technology may continue accelerating, systems may continue evolving and workplaces may continue transforming - emotional intelligence, respect, friendship, process, humility and the human spirit still matter deeply. We also spoke honestly about confidence, identity and the internal pressure many women carry throughout their careers. Emily recently transitioned from her role as VP of Growth at CodePath after six years helping scale the organisation nationally, supporting underrepresented computer science students across the US.
